  1. What a daunting project. You really have to plan for the long haul for this. I solute you. Your buddy referred to the side windows and I was curious as to how you plan to solve that little challenge. Again, fantastic. It gives the car the profile it always deserved.
  2. Probably be easier to list the cars it didn't come in. Very prolific tranny. But the one you're looking for if you want to do a tpi swap is the '89-'92 GM f-body.
  3. All good points by 305240. As for motor plates, that's really a different topic and should be another thread. Yes, Terry O., BlueovalZ, mounts his sbf with motor plates. Do a search and you will find lots of good info on this.
  4. I keep checking in with this "thread that wouldn't die" everytime it adds a new page and I shake my head. Has anybody here lately noticed that this thread started out as a joke? IT'S A JOKE PEOPLE!!! Why is it that everytime somebody posts a politically flavored joke here it turns into this? A heated multidirectional argument. Isn't this thread hyjacking? Well, isn't it? Yes, I'm guilty too. I did comment early on about Michael Moore. But, technically, he IS a joke. So I think I'm off the hook. Please people let it go. If you must start a new thread called "I'm from political slant A. If you are from political slant B,C, and/or D post here and get slammed". It's more honest that way. I know. I must be crazy. What did I just say?
  5. Maybe that's what the yellow stuff was?
  6. If you're not upsizing your lines and cost is not a factor I would look for pre-bent steel sets. Bending your own steel to fit is a royal pain. I replaced mine with 3/8" (-6) aluminum and it was easy.
  7. Urethane would be nice but you can't really blend it into the flares like fiberglass. Should be an easy fix. It's going back to the painter soon anyways. Couple of blems have popped up here and there. He's taking care of them under the warrenty. I'll just have him fix the crack at the same time.
  8. Out for a little drive tonight and on a very lightly traveled delta road a stupid jack rabbit decided at that very moment to commit suicide on my airdam. Grrrrrr! First crack. And I'm so careful around curbs and such. Oh well, had to happen sooner or later. At least it's a small one.
  9. Yup. I did. I believe you would have the same issues bolting the T56 to it as any older style block. I'm not up on the details of that but if you do a search for T56 you should find some good info. My question is why though. The tpi doesn't produce the big horsepower and torque numbers to warrent it. A WCT5 will handle the tpi motor and it can be beefed up with kits to handle a lot more. Plus the T5 is about half the weight of a T56. I've done both swaps, tpi/T5 and LT1/T56. At the time I did the tpi swap LT1's were selling at a premium and the tpi I found was a steel with very low miles. But today I'd choose a LT1 for a budget swap and an LS1 if I had money to spare.
  10. What are you smokin' Brett? Need a new hatch seal or something? j.k.
  11. Now I know what the "hole tune up" is. That's where all the missing parts went.
  12. Like Matt said, being from a non-english speaking country, we'll cut you some schlack.
  13. Depends on your state. Here in California we have bi-annual smog inspections for cars 30 years and younger. Hard to keep it under the radar once the inspector pops the hood.
  14. I'd like a closer look at the hood as well. "Original motor has hole tune up..." Which hole is he referring to?
  15. Don't feel bad, but '74 was the bottom of the curve for Corvettes. Chevy actualy made a Vega that year that did 0-60 faster.
  16. Wags, You're going to get itchy feet working on that VR barefoot! Money shot:
  17. We used the JTR crossmember on the Tomahawk swap (LT1/T56). No problems, and we were able to get really good driveline angles, no vibrations at all. However, I don't know if the LS1 T56 has a different mount position than the LT1 T56. Also, I have heard (only rumors, no specs) that John's kit mounts the motor higher in the engine bay than the JTR kit. I'm presuming this would be the location of the crank since the motors are completely different. This would also have an effect on the driveline angle.
  18. I found these fit my MSA airdam really well.
  19. Dude. You can find several by typing "widebody" into the search function in the body kits forum. Hint: Reaction Research, Arizona Z car.
  20. That's some serious battery tray rust! Little moist up there? Just funnin' with ya. Nice cage. You might check your seat clearance with those boxes welded in at the seatbelt pockets. So, race car, street car?
  21. Lookin' sweet, John! Planning to go bumperless out back? Nice Volvo. I like what Bertone did with the early Volvos. Basicly the old hot rod trick of chopping the top. 8) (Got to capitalize that name, John. Bertone is a fine Italian car designing name. Bear-tone-ie)
