  1. Ruben, be sure you measure the height of your radiator first. I used the Camaro/V6 Van radiator (the one JTR says to use) and the JTR bracket located my rad 3/8" too high. It hit the hood! Just a heads up. Also, remember to measure with the cap ON. Mine actually cleared the hood without the cap.
  2. I'm thinking like you Nathan. What does an upper control arm do? It combines with the lower arm to locate the hub. That is the same thing the strut does. And, as allready stated, the half shaft is not called upon to do anything but transmit power to the wheel. Sounds like an effective argument can be made in favor of the Z IRS. Now if you can just keep the u-joints together below 10.99.
  3. My dates are ok but the dang site can't remember I'm logged in anymore. Every time I come here I have to log in, even when I click the remember me button. Never happened before about a week and a half ago.
  4. Just want to add another advantage to going rear disks. The wheel stays with the car when the stub axle breaks. There is a brown '73 around the corner from me with a smashed fender where the tire went into it. Ask some of the road racers here about the same thing.
  5. That was a year ago. And sadly , things have changed little. Although, I have been working on the taillight mod. No pics here. But if you come to the NorCal meet you can see it in person.
  6. How about the MSA Aero kit 2? http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=TZS&Product_Code=50-1504_50-1510&Category_Code=7AP
  7. It's Dee's! Picture taken at last years NorCal HybridZ meet in Rio Vista. Check out the whole Tomohawk deal: http://www.zparts.com/showcase/tomahawk/index.html
  8. 280YZ. Check your other post. I just responded with pics and links. BTW, 305/50/15's

    T-Tops

When Rory Bateman made the first top for his Tomohawk He used a t-top roof from a 280ZX. (This is on a S30 Tomohawk) He commented to me that the roofs of the S30 and S130 are very close dimensionally. Sorry I don't have a better pic. Pester Eric @ Zparts. He has some nicer shots.
  11. Guys, here is that site http://www.pawinc.com/ And here is a gread thread that explains that throwout bearing and how to install it. It even has some great pics courtesy of Griemann. http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=18219&start=0
  12. Welcome to Hybrid Joe. Grab yourself an R200 out of a junk yard 280Z. It will handle 400 ponies just fine. Forget about that spendy and complicated four link. You will only ruin your Z's great handling. Do a search in the driveline forum on the R200. You will have plenty to read about, get you up to speed. R200's are commonly available in 3.54, 3.70, and 3.90. On the drive shaft, get your motor in the place you want it first them measure and have it shortened. Think about an overdrive tranny. If this is a driver you will be much more comfortable at highway speeds with that extra gear. Good luck!
  13. Somebody scan and e-mail the pages fron the JTR book to BWD. My scanner in down or I would. Yes, it is pretty simple (unless you decide to go FI like me). Mark every wire you remove. That will make things much easier.
  14. Welcome to Hybrid. Sorry Joe, but no pics come up, only we-todd saying thank you for stealing our bandwidth?
  15. Just get it done in time for the NorCal meet. We all want to see your car!
  16. Yes. Took them out. Tilted (f-body) T5, JTR. Looks like I never needed to. But hey, it's a manly way of saying, "I'm never goin' back". FYI: Sawzall, 10 minutes. Ringing in the ears, hour and a half.
  17. O.k. I'll help. But only if you stop calling me JUDY! Eh, I'll help anyway. I slipped a bicycle brake cable adjuster over the GM throttle cable then attached a Locar universal cable end/ball joint thingy ($10 at the hot rod store). The bracket that holds the bicycle brake adjuster is just a corner bracket for reinforcing wooden boxes ($3 at Home Depot) Drill out the ball on the Datsun bellcrank and screw the Locar one to it. Works great, very smooth, full travel, and completely adjustable. Now, stop calling me Judy.
  18. Thanks Tim, my bad, your right. I was mixing up the lt1 with the ls1. Yea, just ask questions, we'll set you straight. You're both right on the tank. Either you can add a sump to the stock tank or add a surg tank and another pump. Someone just resently had pics of his stock tank with a sump added. Nice job and the custom fabbed sump only cost him $60. I like the sump solution. Simpler, only one pump to fail. Hey Tim, you coming to the NorCal meet in Rio Vista on the 5th? Only an 8 hour drive for you.
  19. Welcome to Hybrid. Definitly buy the JTR books. Be advised though, that there is no kit to mount the LT1. You will have to fab your own mounts. There are other issues as well such as accessory brackets and headers. Several guys here have done it though so don't get discouraged. Use the search function and read all the posts on lt1's. Read the JTR books and read all the LT1 posts and you will be well informed. If you can't find answers ask questions. We're here to help.
  20. Terry's got the baddest hood, hands down. However, you can't buy it and it's not exactly a direct bolt on. I've always liked the SubtleZ hood. A tastefull exaggeration of the stock power bulge. I believe BLK MGC has some nice pics of the one on his car.
  21. Try doing a search on Momo hub. Someone here ordered one on the web for $48+shipping. I paid about $60 I think. The search should also produce the proper Momo part# too.
  22. Buy it. Even if it cost $350 I'd tell you to buy it. Can't have mine. 8)
  23. That is a great page. Thanks Greimann. Something I still need to attend to. Do you know if the GM T5 has 8 tooth drive gears like the Ford T5? Also, since you're a wealth of information, do you know of a good tire calculator. I had a link to one once but that was on the now-dead windows machine.
  24. Terry, you gotta come. Here is the annoucement NorCal HybridZ Show and Swap Don't worry this show in NOT about impressing anyone. It's about getting together with your HybridZ buddies, having a burger and yackin'. It's here in Rio Vista at the muffler shop. Rio Vista is about 90 minutes from San Jose. You gotta come!
