  1. There is a gas station there, its a fairly decent sized place. But theres no point in meeting up there, if victory is right across the street.
  2. Why not get an S30 in the video, or would that destroy its good name? Or make the value go up?
  3. I might meet you guys up there, but I'll deffinitly be going to the dealership. The ZCAR club members are all cool people, nice people. But most of them are mainly purists, so good luck to those who have moded cars. For those of you comming from 95, you take exit 84 going north. Thats 295, take this all the way to the end, about 10 miles. From there you get off on 64 East. Then take exit 177 going towards short pump, its the first exit you'll see. The dealership is less then a mile down on your left. YOU CANNOT MISS IT. I understand that one Tom, my Z won't be attending either.
  4. Its not actually richmond, its considered short pump, va-its the west end of richmond. You have to take 95 then get on 295, then on 64, then get off on 250. You'd be driving right past my area, we could meet up at sheetz, or somewhere like that right off the exit. You can follow me there. Tom is in Harrisonburg which is right of 64 if I remember. Hes a straight shot over there, he's nowhere close to me.
  5. I'm about 15 minutes away from shortpump, a bit east of shortpump. I'm right off 95, theres a sheetz(gas station) right off my exit, we could meet up there, I know the way upto victory, we could caravan Z style. Some of you guys could also swing by my way afterwards for a small get together, maybe get my Z running, a guy can always hope can't he.
  6. Guess I should rock the HybridZ sweater, I have to locate it.
  7. My parents have an 04' Sienna XLE AWD, and its awesome. Gas mileage isn't great for a 3.3 liter. But it hauls ass. I think it was advertised as 0-60 in 8 seconds, in a minivan. Its got a nice sound system too, with a 12" subwoofer. Back seats fold down to the floor, and the middle seats roll foward, almost as if you have a truck bed. You get used to the ride. And snow, with the traction control and AWD it drives like a dream. Traction control is even great for donuts. If you find deep snow, cut the wheel, and punch it, it does perfect circles......but I don't know this from experiance....
  8. this is for a before and after dyno test mule. If it blows, well, it sucks, but it gives me a chance to do a swap. Besides that, I'm not too sure if I'll be keeping megasquirt or not. If I get rid of it, I'm going tripples.
  9. I have the stock N/a electronics on my L28. It is now boosted, I plan to fire it up this weekend. I will have the megasquirt setup within the next few weeks, I just need to get it running under boost for a test run before I do the megasquirt install. I am also considering doing a dyno run before and after megasquirt. I have a mallory adjustable FPR, and would like to know what kind of pressure I should set it at, and a good mark to set the timing. My setup is in my sig. Any ideas?
  10. I thought the same thing when I first moved here, but that was years ago. I was wondering what you meant when you said where I'm from. What are you implying LineC? You got a motor that your trying to sell?
  11. its still up in the air whats going on with the car at the moment, I'll know fairly soon weather I am going to keep it and carb it, or If I'm going to swap it and sell it.
  12. I will keep them in mind, the biggest problem with working on the Z myself was lack of space, but since this ordeal, I've been forced to bring the Z home, which isn't a bad thing really. My parents finally agreed to let me bring it home, so here it stays till I can fix it.
  13. There is a potential trader in mind, but I actually have to consider it a bit longer, as I may be taking a turn with my project and losing the L28. If I do trade, the current member has first dibs. Its appears that I may be selling it though, what are you willing to offer?
  14. It appears that this may be causing the problem, is it a possiblility that the worm gear may have slipped?!? I do own the book, although another Z friend is borrowing it, could somebody scan these 2 pages? What I don't understand is, I put the oil pump on when it was on the stand, all went in fine. The I had to remove the front cover because I forgot to put the oil thrower in there, could this be what I'm hitting, is there a possiblity that I put the oil thrower in wrong?
  15. hmmm, not too sure if the prank will work, as I'm pretty sure the guy is bipolar. He seemed like a great guy till he got mad-it only took about 2 seconds to switch from jolly to evil. I wonder if there is any cases that were against them. When I called the BBB, it said that there was no complaints within there 2-3 year history of being open.
  16. From a past thread where I trying to get my oil pump spindle to seat, I finally gave in, and brought the car to a shop. I told them to get the thing running. A few weeks later they called me and said that they didn't want to work on a project car, as they didn't have time. So I asked if they could just install the oil pump. A few days after they said they couldn't get it to work, there was a collar or spacer that was keeping the spindle from fully seating on the crankshaft. The owner had told me that my fuel pump blockoff plate was missing, which I installed myself, and knew that it was present when the car was dropped off. After he said that, I told him that I think somebody had messed with my car. He denied that there was a chance it could have been messed with, as it had been inside most of the time when it was at the shop. This is a lie, as I made it a point of my day every night after school or work to drive past the shop and see that the Z is still there, which it was-everyday, outside the shop. He told me to pay right then, I said I wanted to see if anything was broken or missing. I said I'd check out the damage, and I would pay tomorrow. He said I had to pay NOW. Told him good luck getting money from me if I didn't have any on me, and that I would be paid the next day, and bring his money. That night I filed a police report for some damage I had seen. The hood wasn't bolted down, and the only thing keeping it secure was the hood latch. The genious' at the shop thought it was a front lift hood like any other car. The back of the hood made contact with the cowl and buckled the hood slightly and scratched up both the cowl and hood. Turns out that my blockoff plate wasn't missing at all, it was right there on the front of the head. Although the owner had said that he stuck his finger in the hole, and felt the camshaft, turns out that he was talking about the water inlet on the side of the block. Kinda funny, seeing as how the L28 is an OHC motor, and the cam only sits about 6-8 inches above the water inlet, so good luck feeling the cam. Specially if my cam is water cooled, there may be a big problem. Ignorance. The next day I went to the shop, on my lunch break, and asked to look at the car with a technician, or the owner. I told the lady at the counter, that I wanted to look at it with the owner, or a tech before I went any further. I said I would be back around 5:00, which they'd still be open at that time. A few minuts later, the lady had left me a message saying that she was under the impression that I was going to pay my bill when I came there at lunch. I called back to re-explain that I wanted to see the car with somebody before I went any further with the transaction. The boss imediately picked up the phone while I was talking to her, and he had said that I needed to come down there and pay the bill and have my car out of there ASAP. Pretty funny as the paperwork I signed said I had 3 buissness days from the day the work was complete to pick it up, if not a storage charge would be added to my bill-I had about 2 days from the work being incomplete, before he threatened to tow the vehicle. I had to explain to him again that I wanted to walk the car with him and show the damage that was done. He denied anything wrong with it, and said I needed to stop acting like a kid and grow up. He thought it would be great to criticize my work, and talk to me very profanely. I had told him about the police report. "Your just blowing smoke up my A$$" and that I was just trying to set him off, if a police report was filed, the cops would have been here first thing this morning talking to him. He then said that the car would be towed, and the cops called to have a warrent to get his money. I showed up there within a few minuts with the police. And it took forever to finally have the guy look at the car. When he saw the damage, he said it had always been like that. Now I am told that I can never go back to this shop again, as I was trying to stiff them out of some work. Now the Z's hood is permanitly popped, and I had to remove the latch just to get the hood to open. It will not shut at all. Do any of you guys think that that pictures I have of the Z on the trailer, with the hood completely closed could be submitted as a good form of evidence. The g/f had fun taking pictures of the Z that day, and had every angle shot, including one of the Z on the trailer, with the hood shut-and best yet THE SERIAL NUMBER FOR THE TRAILER, WHICH JUST SO HAPPENS TO MATCH MY RECIEPT FOR THE TRAILER FOR RENTING IT THAT DAY ONLY. And the fact that the day I picked it up is the same day I dropped it off at the shop, along with a signed document on THAT DATE to work on the car. I can't stand shops working on the Z anymore. Does any body have any ideas, or tips. I already called the BBB and plan to take them to court, to repair the damage that was caused. If they had just done that in the first place, this would all be avoided.
  17. Ended up bringing it to the shop. Turns out that there is a little collar piece of some sort that is restricing the oil pump drive from actually seating on the crank gear. Seems as though I have to pull the front cover, and inspect the crank and see if I can get this thing to seat properly. The shop refuses to work on the Z anymore, and I am no longer allowed to goto that shop anymore.
  18. might be interested, PM me if interested in a 280z
  19. I had heard that the s13 blacktop had a better cooling system, and oil system, I'm a bit skeptical on this however. Except for the cooling fins, thats really the only diffrence, but they were present in the second gen s13 redtop
  20. not really too interested in dual carbs, just tripples
  21. If a header is thrown in, then I will also include my turbo manifold, turbo, and scottie downpipe, along with the J-pipe. Maybe a few things I'm forgetting, but I'll trade my whole setup for your full setup.
