  1. Is there a way you could give it to me as a dedicated track car, and I could possibly give you my 280z turbo as a favor? There are loopholes
  2. So your basicly just gonna give it back, and get no money back at all. I'll buy it, send me a message
  3. It does make sence when you think a VG WITH TURBOs vs. a VH WITHOUT turbos. The 100 pounds the guy shaved from the car when he did the swap could have easily been caused by (assuming the motors wieghted fairly the same) 2 turbos are now missing, as is intercoolers, and the piping. Did he also use lightwieght headers-usually a few pounds lighter then a stock cast manifolds? Could he have possibly remove A/C and powersteering, I don't really want to search the entire site because I never have luck searching on other sites.
  4. I have been thinking about just this project for quite some time, turned out great!
  5. Tell me about it, I ran into this problem earlier this week trying to figure those stupid marks out.
  6. BRAAP, I do not doubt a single word you say, so I'm leaning towards autozone being wrong on this one. But then again, everybody has a time where they miss something-Is it 35mm 40mm and 50mm, at autozone there was not 50mm, but a 47mm, which is a small diffrence.
  7. I know the whole core plug vs. freeze plug thing. Actually read a nice discussion on here about it awhile back. I run into the problem alot when saying core plug and everybody thinks your an idiot. So I just said freeze plug thinking as though the majority of people still see it as a freeze plug that blows out the block when the motor freezes. I just need the plugs ASAP, like tommorrow, so I cannot order. I was at autozone today, they do not have brass plugs, they have RUBBER plugs-does that seem right, I've never heard of rubber plugs.
  8. I know it seems like a simple question and all, and a search should have found this, but with such a broad search, it didn't help. I need to know what size the freeze plugs are in the block. For some reason my rebuild kit didn't come with plugs, and for some other reason, autozone can't cross reference a size. I need to the sizes ASAP. I think there is 2-3 diffrent sized plugs in the block alone.
  9. Such as this http://www.jouleinjected.com/ Its all electric
  10. I drove through a puddle about 3 inches deep, half an hour later I drove through the same puddle-this time it happened to be about 8-12!!! inches deep. Enough to flood the interior and short out the starter on my sentra. We all have our moments.
  11. in class all we had to remember was 3.14, but we had school wide contests-when people can remember 300 numbers of Pi, it means they have no life.
  12. autozone will scan it, or any oil change place
  13. For reliability as a first car, go with a B13 sentra, there pretty fun too.
  14. Turns out that I now have my motor back from the machine shop, and the rocker clips are missing. They're more like a retainer that loops around the rockers. They did not loose them, I think that I may have gotten the car without them. Would anybody recomend using the motor without these clips. The machinest tried to locate some, and he said nobody sells them. If its not a good idea, does anybody have any extras lying around- I just got rid of my extra head?
  15. Really, I've had nothing but good experiances with MSA, and the stuff I got was pretty high quality too.
  16. I may go and get a used t3/t4 and rebuild the old t3 and sell. What machine work is involved?
  17. May just have to do that, I already have a t3, and I'd much rather do the rebuild myself, but I really want a t3/t4. I've seen a t3/t4 conversion kit where it gives you a new housing, impeller, and a rebuild kit amoung other things, but I've only seen it once, does anybody have any experiance with these?
  18. What if one of these cheap garrett t3/t4 were bought, and immediately rebuilt with garrett parts? Maybe new impellers, that way your just using it as a core, and for an extra 150+ you can have a pretty good price on a nice turbo.
  19. Any body have any thoughts, comments, or have used the MSA 2mm gasket, and have taken some layers off? I bought it and I'm awaiting the motor to get back from the machine shop, and would like to know of anyone running one of these on an L28et with a few layers missing
  20. If I drifted my old truck with less then quarter of a tank, it would slosh to the sides, and lose all power
  21. I work full time, sometimes over time. Goto school full time. And still manage to have weekends off, I use that time to get my personal stuff done, like working on my own cars, and fixing my own things. And I still manage to come across the time to build my motor. It will eventually pay off, and when it does, it will be so much better to think that you busted your butt and had long sleepless nights, and you can stand back and look at your results.
  22. If you decide you would like to give Fuel injection a try, I will trade you my Megasquirt V2.3 with harness and cable, and my 550 injectors for your mikunis
  23. Is that 240Z tattoo yours? Thats pretty awesome, theres a few Z tattoo people lurking around......
  24. Getting your license later in life isn't gonna help significantly. If anything, Germany has a good idea (I have a teacher that was stationed in Germany for about 10yrs so he goes over this alot) Germany has less accidents per mile then the US, even on the autobahn, and noo-its not because there used to driving fast its because there better drivers all together. To get your license its something like 1 year of driving school, and costs about $1500 to obtain your license. The left lane is for passing only, you get caught riding in the left lane, you loose your license(for good I believe), the police will give you about 5 over the speed limit or whatever it is in KM/H, but after that, your done-unless its the autobahn. You NEVER down talk the Polizei and tell them there wrong, because they will beat you, and then you'll loose your license, the Polizei are never wrong-There ALWAYS right. Maybe we have some Germans that could elaborate on this?
