  1. I'm suprised I've never read this before. MIKE, can we make this a sticky? It is a pretty good read
  2. if its that rare why is it only going for 280,000? May as well put it on barret jackson and triple that amount.
  3. Might wanna change the title. Have you verified that your getting spark? What makes you think you have no fuel? Please search. Like this was found in a search REALLY QUICK. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=122448
  4. maybe I should buy a couple Z's if Aziza gets in it. Pile up now, then sell after the movie?
  5. It was radiohead, but very close, deffinitly a funny episode.
  6. maybe I'll put one on my new DD, 92 civic hatch. Knock honda down a notch.
  7. They say with the ebay specials there usually cheap garbage. I have seen a few around here(kids whos parents buy there cars and parts) that turn out pretty good. Its the parts you get. The more high-end kits, like 1500+ actually seem to hold up quite well and don't have the flimsyniss problems, actually fairly firm. But there parents spent big bucks, where as there is a few around that have the cheap ones installed, and they sag and you have to hold the door up or it will come down.
  8. I just picked up an EG hatch(92-95 civic hatchback) for $600. My buddy needed it gone and I needed better gas mileage and less miles on the car then my current DD(93 Sentra) which was getting high 20's, and had 195K on the clock. The hatch has 134K on it, runs great, is 5-speed. Hes gotten upto 52mpg on it, but mostly in the mid 40's. The fender caved in when the tire blew out and coated the whole side of the car in rubber. A few minutes with a dent puller and some brake cleaner, and its hardly noticeable, and now I can open the door. I too drive about an hour each way, to work though, and it adds up quick. Get a cheap civic, and use the money you save on the Z.
  9. It won't allow me to edit my post so that I can delete my double post, can somebody delete the double, and this one?
  10. I just punched a hole in my oil pan, and used a taper to taper it out, then threaded the hole. I just bought a t3 drain kit on ebay. A 1/2 NPT fitting, I think. Something like a 5/8 hose and unicoil kit. The clamped it all together. Worked pretty good. Are you using the stock 280zx turbo oil lines? If not, then get some kind of restrictor piece if your running a feed thats too big. 12. I'm pretty sure that you compression would be lower then 8:1 with a 2mm head gasket. If you want a decent compression, and your spending all kinds of money on machine work, you may as well go with the 1mm piece. Or use the 2mm piece and remove layers.
  13. The name sounds very familiar, I think he is a member boostin280zx
  14. fly out there... I don't know what to do on this one, I'm taking my claim of body damage to small claims and can't really fill you in on anything there, except its gonna take forever before they can hear my case.
  15. yah, a buddy is actually borrowing it. I assume its in there now. Last I read it I must not have read anything on the T56 cause I didn't think I'd find one for a good price.
  16. Been looking at this site and JTR, maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing though. I can't seem to find what k-member and mount to use for the T56, the only T56 thing I see is tailshaft modifications. Do I need to get this done, or is that for something completly different. It said its for speedometer readings and such. Is this for LS1 T56? Do I use a standard T5 tranny mount?
  17. Braap unloads a bunch of information as always, this is an awesome read. I plan to start designing the plans for this project soon. How much you want for that turbo?
  18. I have watched most of these videos already, there pretty cool. This thing is pretty cool, I remember reading about it. Since its a secondary engine, it still passes emissions and can be daily driven. A cop pulled the guy over and after radioing the sergeant, there was nothing they could be charged with, so they were forced to let him go. Pretty funny.
  19. That would be awesome. I just want to build one as a model, be able to start it up and shoot flames, nothing more....for now.
  20. I've been kicking around the idea of building one of these, should be fun. I'm wondering if anybody on here has any experiance or do's and don'ts of building one. Like what kind of turbo to get(junkyard of course, can't justify getting a nice one for a project like this, but can't get a nice one for my Z), or howto make the combustion chamber. Theres a few designs on the net, but I want to know what you guys have found to work best.
  21. look a few threads down for the HKS plenum post.
  22. Could I swing by sometime and check it out, just to get an idea of what I'm getting myself into. I've seen a few T5 smallblock Z's in real life, but I'd like to check out a T56 one to get an idea of what kind of "modifications" my tranny tunnel is gonna need and such. Give me a call if you wanna meet up sometime, I'm free tonight and most nights this weekend 804-814-2264
  23. Is yours an SBC/T56? Depending on where in richmond, your only a few minutes away.
  24. I might have an SBC in the works come tax time, gathering parts now. Let me know if you decide you need to sell some of those EFI parts.
