  1. do you mean problems as in putting it in, or it will give me minimal problems on the road?
  2. I've been trying to search first, but it might be a bolt in type thing, so it doesn't need to be modified. I'm getting a 350 from a co-worker, where still negotiating a price, but I think its gonna be around the 250-350 range. I also found an LT1 T56 combo for 350, one of my buddies has called shotgun on that, but luckily he's using an automatic. So where splitting the cost, so 175 for that. "I think the motor had problems, but he plans to build it, and I'm gonna get the trans rebuilt) My questions are, what is needed to do a T56 swap onto a late-80's SBC? Do I need to find a specific bell housing, or would the LT1 T56 bell housing work? And I'm also looking to find an aluminum flywheel, and I keep running into diffrent teeth patterns, what tooth count do I need?
  3. I remember watching something on this a long time ago, it was awesome. The guy could jump out of the plane, catch the air just right, fly around, and get back into the plane. The guy who invented it was flying one time and pulled his chute and it didn't open. I don't think they ever found him, it was in the mountains somewhere.
  4. In an Sr20det S13 my buddy had a similar problem, its hard to get some clearance, especially when using nismo motor mounts. He found out that if he could unbolt it and just get it off the dowel pins, about 1/4 inch, then rotate the transmission so its upside down, then pull it off. It worked on the 240, not too sure about an SBC Z
  5. I know in road tractors(I'm going to school for diesel tech.) alot of trucks don't use a trans mount at all. The only thing that holds the trans up is where its bolted to the motor, and the motor mounts hold that in place. And thats also where the motor and trans can easily wiegh more then our cars. If you got motor mounts, and a mid mount, then I think that rear tranny mount might be good to go. I base this on the fact that I've never heard of or used nutserts, but if I understand right, you should probably be alright, but I'm not sure.
  6. Been there done that? Do you mean this paticular manifold, or any side-draft SBC setup?
  7. I'm a bit confused too? Is it bad for function?
  8. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CHEVROLET-X-RAM-MANIFOLD-FITS-FOUR-WEBER-DCOE-CARBS_W0QQitemZ230208348482QQihZ013QQcategoryZ36474QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p1638.m118 Would my triple mikuni's fit on this weber manifold? And yes, I know I would have to add one more.
  9. I was looking at the mikuni's last night and was wondering if there was a write-up or a picture that I could see that goes over pressurizing the floats?
  10. One of the best times I had driving my 78'(the only time on the open road actually) I passed a Viper GTS going the other way. I stared at his car, he stared at mine, and we exchanged thumbs up.
  11. does this clear a LHD steering shaft and frame? How much you want for it?
  12. My resolution is to just be able to drive mine.
  13. It does make you sore. If I bowl, I have a tendency to throw to hard, and since the controller is alot lighter then a bowling ball, I over do it. Like throwing a tennis ball instead of a baseball. I wonder if anyone has ever thrown out there arm playing yet.
  14. I kinda like the fact that USAA hasn't upped my rates for my ticket. Which was over a year ago. If anything, my insurance has dropped, even with the Z on my plan. Both the cars are older 93' sentra, and 78' 280z, and don't have full coverage, but I like that I only pay about 330 every 6 months.
  15. I'm still reading up on carbs, I'm fairly new to it, so I didn't understand some of the more technical things you were saying, but I'm desiphering it as I read it and its making more sence everytime. I've only talked to a few guys running turbo'd carbs, but they were all like SBC's with a single 4bbl and they were saying its a pain to tune at times for boost. But i guess with the plenum design on a triple setup helps to cure that?
  16. Tony D, do you have a good baseline setup for an L28 running triples and boost. I need to get some jets, and want to know where to start atleast, then change from there. Seeing as how the turbo not only changes the pressure, but the temperature as well, then wouldn't it not really matter where your located as long as its similar climate conditions? This is all assuming a stock T3
  17. merry christmas to all of hybridz
  18. if only it was a TT, it would be almost worth it to pick it up for 1k that its going for, then strip the kit and return it to stock.
  19. sentra's always do me good, we've had plenty in my family. They can be had cheap even for only a couple years old. The recent body styles have been good too, .....except for the newest one.....but besides that. I recently looked at an 04? sentra, had a mild sound system, alloy wheels, but was automatic. They wanted like 10 for it, and it was a certified pre owned vehicle from nissan. You can get the 02-03's for next to nothing.
  20. Went an hour early and I was the next to last person to get in line for the wii. But I got it. Its crazy.
  21. I completely agree. I didn't look for the flashiest looking machine shop with all sorts of muscle cars. I looked around, made some calls. The one I went to wasn't the best looking, didn't have and show cars, but they talked me through every little thing that I was gonna get done. They took time out of there day to explain everything to me, and that was awesome. Besides that, they had done plenty of L's back in the day.
