  1. The procharger people sell one as does Banks.
  2. ppraska, I've got two dart little "M" blocks, one is a 400 with 400 mains, the other is a 350 with 350 mains. Both will bore to 4.200. When you see one, they remind you of the first time you saw a girl naked, makes you want to touch it all over. I don't know about World blocks at all, but I'm sure that they are similar. I posted a price and phone for Edwards in Alb, they have the little m for about $1800, I've seen them on EBAY for about that as well. Good luck!

Well, if you never seen anyone given car lengths, then you haven't been street racing much, thank god I guess, means your keeping the streets safe. In the 60's and '70s, even the early '80's, South Eubank in Alb NM was host to some wicked street drags. Most is heads up, but the grudge match with a lessor car would often include car lengths. That is a bad TA that is for sure! Would love to see that in action against my boy's z. Wanna go Pinks? Ha ha JK.

Nothing like pure smack in the Morning, eh... I'm suprised somebody doesn't jump all over this. The topic at hand, Really, I have to agree with yashin, I wouldn't put up my car or my boys car for a show. In the old days, there was always talk about racing for pink slips, never saw it, talking smack like always. The only time I have ever lost was to a AWD DSM when I was on BFG TA's, when I changed to slicks, I bested him by .4 seconds. I even raced an NSX for topend and whupped some bootie in that lead sled monte SS. Street racing used to be alot safer since there were alot less cars on the road, nowadays you can be out at 4AM and see tons of folks going somewhere.
  5. NM is an at will state also unless you have an employment offer in writing or an employment contract. In my experience an employment offer was made in writing and accepted.
  6. That's good texas law, 9.42 simply states, shoot 'em and let god sort 'em out, but only at night!
  7. Well, if it's not a small block, then what is it? Seems that this is a more appropriate question, it certainly is not a big block and GM calls it new generation small block, so I guess that unless GM is a liar, then it is a small block. But then again, maybe GM shrunk the big block, honey, I shrunk the big block and it'll fit in the honda now! I guess I'm just missing the value to hybridz with this entire poll and subject. Somebody steer me in the right direction.

So, how much does the show pay to be in it? Is it enough to loose your car over? I never really thought that anyone really lost their car, just that it was a bunch of hype, guess I'm wrong. I wonder if I can still run 9's or 10's on DOT slicks or Drag Radials? Hmmm, got me wondering, nah, I'm not that much of a gambler. Congratulations on the honda, bet you wish you had two of them, one to shat on and the other to cover it up with. Personally, I'd sell the honda as is for cash, let somebody else have that heap.
  9. Your born, you live, and you die. The live part is what makes life worth living and is truly what you make of it. Comes a point in your life, your not old enough yet, that you realize that money, success, sometimes power, doesn't fill the niche. Life becomes more valuable at that point, you look at things differently and you tend to do more of the things you've always wanted to do. Cheers, you are realizing what life really is. When you die, your friends and family will show up, the number of those people is the measure of what you are worth as a person, not a measure of what you did, just how you treated people.
  10. Fact is, Federal employment law prohibits them from firing her if she takes leave without pay. It is not "cause" to terminate someone for taking leave without pay. You self employed folks should know this. You just can't fire somebody without a paper trail of 3 written reprimands, 3 corrective action meetings and 3 signed documents where the guilty party acknowledges the wrong doing and the corrective action. If they did fire her, you could successfully sue the pants off of them for wrongfull termination. While I was the office manger at an engineering firm, I tried to fire this gal who never showed up on Monday's, left early on Friday's and always had some excuse. I finally caught her doing drafting side work on company time, company computer and canned the witch. If you don't do it by the book, some little twerp lawyer will stick it to you and you'll have to pay back pay, give them their job back or pay unemployment benefits until they get a new job, not to mention punative damages.
  11. Well, if you read the American Rifleman, I'm a life member, they have a section on stories of how gun owners defended themselves. There was a man in Las Cruces, big time IPSC pistol competitor, can't remember his name. Seems two thugs broke into his home in LC, NM one night, didn't know he was there cause he had a garage where he parked his car. He was in his bed reading, heard the break in and grabbed a 9mm semi auto. Went to the hall way, met both guys coming down the hall, one had a tire iron. Both turned and ran, he double tapped one in the back who collapsed in the hall and he double tapped the other in the back as he went out the door. The second one died in the escape vehicle parked in the driveway with the engine running and his seat belt on. Charges were filed on the home owner, NRA defended him, the charges were later dropped.
  12. Remember the Godfather! "Keep your friends close, your enemies closer" Sorry to be bringing up all these old 'isms, but the truth rings clear my friend, behold the wisdom of time and you too shall learn grasshopper!
  13. I think we as hybridz'ers are all insane to some degree, I know I am so I guess that makes me qualified to say that your insane cause it takes one to know one.
  14. Damn Mike, Charles Bronson ain't got shat on you!!! Didn't know vigilante's live east of the ol' Miss.. Broken hands ain't enough, gotta give them time to think things over at home while the broken legs and ribs heal, then it's a lesson they will never forget. Mike is sooooooo right on target. And Traub83, it is someone you know!
  15. That's probably the reason why nobody replied to the other post.
  16. I'm sorry to hear about your loss, it always hits the pit of the stomach and make you kind of sick. If you think about this, you'll realize that it is true. An old man told me that all a lock does is keep your friends out!
  17. Try Harbor Freight, about $30 for a set of 5.
  18. If your going to port your own heads, invest in a cheap set of inside snap gauges, it'll make a world of difference cause it'll let you make them all dimensionally the same.
  19. I'm buying an eagle or an autolift. Why? Because I can get a used one from my retailer for $1200. I've used Eagle and autolift and for me that'll be fine, guess I just settle for run of the mill. Both have lever safety release, at least the ones I've used. I want a 2 post version, better for what I want to do.
  20. Same problem with the fuel cell cars as well, mucho pressure.
  21. Nope, I believe that there is an equation for elastic deformation and one non-elastic deformation. Jmortensen is probably right, for a given torque, a longer shaft will provide more elastic deformation so that would be a plus in that application.
  22. racerx, so what is the cost per mile to drive the electric car? There is no free lunch, whether it's electric, air, propane, ethanol, whatever, there is no emissions granted from the electric car, but there are emissions from the coal and NG fired electric plants that produce the electricity. And of course there is always the nuke waste from the nuke plants as well. Did you all see the King of Saudi saying that the experts say that they have enough oil for another 70 years. Perfect, me and my boy can race till we're dust. Personally, I'm waiting Scotty to beam me up!
  23. I have the solid axle conversion but I have no front sway bar, car handles fine at 120+ mph in the 1/4, feels so good I think I'll go faster. If you are going all out drag, ditch the front, keep the rear, as long as you have IRS, ditch 'em both if you have the solid axle conversion. If it's street strip, I'd keep them both, build more motor if you want to go faster.
  24. If it is a blow through setup, Banks says 15 psi. Of course it's your pocketbook, run as much as you think you can afford.
  25. Well, if he's going to go crome moly axles, then why bother with the Dana 44?There is a corresponding torque level that all diffs will handle on a regular basis, the D44 is kind of on the lower end. No matter which rear, they all will have to be shortened so the length of axles would be the same, so the mathematical equation simply is reduced to axle diameter, don't you agree? Inversely proportional to length, directly proportional to diameter. I was talking stock and I think that the original question was whether he should bother with a stock 44 unit cause it was available cheap. And stock 9 inch 28 or 31 spline axles are bigger diameter than the D44 and if you get pre '79 then they can be shortened and resplined for a fraction of the cost of aftermarket axles, like $45 versus $279 for axles. So, really, his question is "Do I bother upgrading and shortening a D44 for the z with a 400-500HP sbc or do I go 12 bolt or 9 inch?" So as a recomendation I'd personally go with something other than the "stock" D44. Doesn't make sense to me to put all that $$$ into the 44 when he could easily spend less and go 9 inch, 12 bolt or 8.8. For me it's just my preference as insurance and really what would be up to the task, yeah, the 44 might work fine, the 8.8, 12 bolt or the 9 inch will definately be better. Nobody likes to do it twice at twice the cost, better to do it once even if it costs more than cutting corners would.
