  1. With a 327 and the 200 4R that ought to be one tough ride.
  2. I thank him for being there for us all. I thank you for sharing this little part of your life with us that means so much to you. May god bless his soul and the rest of the souls that are there, may he keep them safe as they are in our prayers.
  3. I'd like to see the 327 with the sportsman 2 heads. Those 327's are hard to beat.
  4. I was talking about grumpy's idea of an engine with a blower. My bad, didn't explain it well.
  5. That motor with a blower should be in excess of 1000 hp. If that don't wow you nothing will. But it'll only do high 11's cause it'd smoke the tires all the way down the track.
  6. Boyd is an over rated certified arsehole!
  7. Why haven't you bid on it yet? I can hear it calling you, buy me, buy me! Super nice ride, wish I could afford it.
  8. That pulled grumpy out of the closet. I'd like to see that big inch sbc with blower, that'd wow the eye and produce more power than superglue could stick to the pavement!
  9. Dollar for dollar, IMO, the best new rods you can get are the eagle H beams with the L19 bolts. If you can find a set of carillo's used, they come with Carr bolts and are almost indestructable. Corzette, send money, will shop for you, or you can come shop in my shop. I've got a 4 bolt 350 block that's .030 over, going to put a gm steel crank, eagle 5.7 rods, and those new TRW turbo pistons in it with a little solid roller cam and some AFR heads to make a turbo engine.
  10. We don't have girls here in NM, sorry.... Everytime I go to the big city I drool on myself, get my tongue stepped on, my eyes won't close and if I'm lucky I get my face slapped at least once. Nope, this is the land of entrenchment, where men are men, women are few and sheep are nervous. Well, I said that when I was in Wyo as well, but at least they had women.
  11. Yeah, but he'd be missing out on the "thrill" of being an outlaw! The boy has a need, he just hasn't fulfilled it yet and until he does, he'll always be an outlaw. Z, the need for speed, still awaits those who just can't get enough.
  12. Voila, mounts to go, what a deal!
  13. Well, now we know why you are noted as "Here comes trouble". The kia is about as good as it gets, I think they are around $6800. If you can trade in 3 or 4 of the "old" ones, you'll be about where you want to be. You remind me of me, just I'm older.
  14. there is also one just above the oil filter on the side of the block and on some early blocks on the front of the block, passenger side above the timing cover.
  15. No, they are not that weak, it's just an insurance issue. When you get a set of stock rods, buy arp fasteners, resize the big end, bush the small end, modify for pin oiling, you end up with over $200 in the set, not including the rods, so why not spring for another $100 or so and get eagle rods rated to 700HP?!! Good advice here, it doesn't pay to save $$ in the bottom end IMO. If we could only get women with a moneyback guarantee, life would be good!
  16. I just bought a set off ebay. TRW turbo pistons, .030 over NIB with moly rings for $290 delivered. Oops, guess the cat is out of the bag now. Yup, you guessed it building another engine.
  17. We're running sbc v8. Scottie is right, the notion that using a PG would be detrimental is just plain wrong, been proven so that's that. An adapter can be made or bought is my understanding. Somebody already did it and if it were me I'd make one out of 6061 1/2" plate using a bellhousing from the L28 and sbc as bolt patterns.
  18. I run a PG, works great, should solve your cv breakage problem. You'd have to run an adapter plate to mate the L28 bolt pattern, no matter if you went th350 or PG, same tranny bolt pattern. There is not that much difference in gear ratio's, 2.54 first gear 1.54 for second in the th350, I think, and 1.76 or 1.82 for the glide unles you go to custom gear set then you can get into the 2's for a low gear. High gear is still 1:1. So, it's like inbetween 1st and 2nd gear on a 350. The 1.82 set would handle about all the L6 could put out, but if it's a v8 I'd go with the stronger 1.76 gear set. Both are interchangeable as a unit. If you get a turbo splined input shaft then converters are alot cheaper and you can buy/sell easier. Also more durable than the stock input shaft. The glide weighs about 110 to 120 with converter, mine does at least, so there is some weight savings, also there is some HP savings as well as the glide doesn't soak up as much HP as the 350 or 400.
  19. Wow, he goes for the young ones. The latest poll shows that the older ones prefer alcohol.
  20. Really, Aux are you concerned that your mazda will have no oil pressure when the filter gets clogged? I would think that would be a warranty issue cause the motor is shelling out, unless you never changed the oil. I thought he was just having problems taking it off, I didn't think it was a concern for clogging up. Don't the new cars shut off when the oil pressure falls below say 20psi?
  21. You had to know that this was coming, so I'm sure you were somewhat prepared for it?... Nothing happens as planned as a rule otherwise we'd all be rich.
  22. Being that force=pressure x area that's not suprising, you increased the size of the area, pressure remained constant but the force increased directly with the increase in area which would require a stiffer spring to keep it seated.
  23. nope, it'll be a cast crank unless somebody put a steel crank in it, but it is a 4 bolt main. Steel cranks in 350's came in High HP versions only, like the 'vette all years, camaro in '68-70, chevelle same years I think. Other than that the steel crank can be found in c60 chevy and GMC medium duty trucks as standard equipment. The forging number I believe is 1182. The gm steel crank isn't all that great, but it depends on what you are doing with it HP wise. I think you can buy one for around $380 new and you can get an eagle crank for about the same $$$ that has better fillets and is lighter by a couple of pounds.
