  1. Your right Pete especially with really high lift roller cams. At least that has been my expeience.
  2. Did that and Bahai del Kino which was nice also.
  3. It'll do small ones with that HP depending on traction.
  4. Don't worry you'll end up wearing diapers again just like you did when you were born! :lmao:
  5. Setting up a deer hunt for November december time frame. Met some really cool people down there and went to check it out. Had a great party, mariachi band, lots and lots of beer, carne asada, and pleanty of other great food! Women are unbelievably gorgeous!!!!
  6. I have a custom colt .45 switchbarrel gun with the .400 corbon barrel. kicks some serious butt at the jerk and squirt competitions here! wouldnt have anything else. sorry for the lack of proper punctuation the keyboards in mexico are different.
  7. Wish all you guys were here. dragstrip, fishing, great food, loads of corona beer and hot women! I had to. THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT!
  8. Quite the opposite. Your getting good signal and it's pulling alot of fuel so you needed to lean it out. If you had poor signal then you'd have to richen it up. The downleg boosters work wonders on the street. I have never seen an engine pull negative vacuum. IMO they won't do it unless your going down hill in gear. 1.5 inches of mercury is a lot more than 1.5 inches of vacuum which is usuallymeasured in relation to water. They are not the same units. Flow ratings mean nothing IMO. Buy a custom Da Vinci, C&S carb, the rest are pretty much all sales hype. I have never been impressed with BG. Nobody that races seriously and makes big HP in circle track uses them.
  9. Now that is just awesome! Details on that v8 and the others you have! More pics too.
  10. Looking at the vid the driver and the steering wheel, he obviously had an easier time driving the gtr. In the drag race the GT3 got the jump and the GTR still ate it's lunch.
  11. Yes more vids. That looks like a lot of fun.
  12. I wasn't talking about you mike, come to think of it I don't recall you ever having a bad comments about how the gtr drives. I guess I should have been more clear. I haven't seen any evidence of any of the trans replacements. Considering how few have been sold if it is in fact true then it may be odd, but not unlike any other manufacturers that have experienced trans weakness problems, doesn't make it a bad car. Same goes for people.
  13. That is awesome! I can't understand all the negative comments when those making the negative comments have never driven one. I have never had the opportunity nor am I likely to anytime soon. Very nice vids and congrats on getting behind the wheel of a nice car on the track to boot!
  14. It is not just the number of pistons but the diameter and total piston area that is the issue in terms of force. I run the 4 piston wilwoods and have not had the problems that you are experiencing. The finish on the rotor has an impact on the coefficient of friction and ultimately the stopping power with any given pad and caliper. have you thought of resurfacing the rotors? In the circle track cars we regularly replace the rotors not the hats.
  15. It will be alright I am sure. I will pray for you and you know that all your brothers here are behind you, support you and would help you. Hang in there buddy! PS my mom is from cambridge also. I have family there.
  16. A simple free body diagram of the forces involved in braking are all that is necessary to possibly point to the cause of the problem. One of the common problems in the automotive industry is to listen to what others are running which has nothing to do with your car, driving style, speeds and track. What works for others may still not work for you and your situation. Simply put outside of the forces you have temperature effects which in turn have a cause and effect on the clamping forces and resultant reactions. Seems that increased friction is desired resulting in less pressure, less pedal usage resulting in less heat or driving style change resulting in less heat added or possible increased brake cooling is required in your case. I watched a tv program where Dale Earnhardt had said that he loved his corvette over nascar cars due to the better brakes. It was his favorite car to drive on a road coarse.
  17. Centered as your engine is. Mine is exactly centered engine and trans.
  18. I disassembled both the spare PG transmissions and both had the less desirable 1.82 planetaries. So this evening I managed to get the good 1.76 ratio off ebay for decent price. So the trans can be assembled when that comes in. The rear end is assembled and when the 4 link comes in I will build a small jig to put the car on to do the backhalf. All I have to do is buy some wheels and decide on tires. This is the first time I have ever done just a back half. I have done a mini tub and I have built several circle track cars, IMCA modifieds, late models and sprint cars but never just backhalving a production car. Should be interesting project. Getting there slowly.
  19. 33 grams is significant when dealing with something so large in diameter.
  20. Got the brakes in finally. I managed to find some 3.25 gears and I bought a 4 link kit off ebay. Then I bought some 1.5 x 3 tubing in .083 to fab the backhalf with. Motor is still sitting in pieces in the shop floor. I was waiting on a new piston ring filing tool which I now have. Today I am going to assemble the rear end so I can measure and determine what wheels to get.
  21. The ATI street damper at about $215 is a much better unit.
