  1. That is funny, one of the first things I look at is the quality of the welds. I'm not one for bling, or uber nice looking. I have always been into more the rat rods and just performance. But that thing is gawd awful looking so it exceeds my limit of acceptability.
  2. I think your talking about two different parts of the plane. He is talking about the tail section and the v shaped portion of the tail that appears on some planes I believe.
  3. Laminar and turbulent flow is a function of velocity. Using your understanding of what shapes cause high and low pressure you should be able to deduce exactly where on the car that would happen. If your looking for MPG's then speed is your killer here. As speed increases almost exponentially so does drag. I think it is the general consensus that most cars have not experienced much of a problem until speeds are in the 150+ category. Not saying that you can't achieve some good results at speeds lower than that but there is a cost/benefit line there somewhere. That is the more time and $$$ you spend yields little results. That was the purpose of the windtunnel tests, to see what is the best bang for the buck so to speak.
  4. More like a gun show every month down that way somewhere in or around houston!
  5. The RB is an amazing engine. My first look at one was at SEZ 6. I was impressed then and even more so now. If I was going to do yet another car, I'd do an RB swap.
  6. Well, it's called Pex, I buy it at action hose in Alb. The fittings are available and some smaller hose at our Carquest store here, but they come in solid brass and plastic, the plastic ones are cheaper. The QD is quick disconnect, you push the tube in and pull back, an insert comes back out and it locks, push on the insert and it will release the hose.
  7. Yes, that works well and you can use the QD push to lock fittings, makes connections a snap and they are re-usable. That is what is on semi-trucks these days. I always replace rubber hoses with pex whenever a have a hose break. Great stuff. For distribution lines it pays benefits to use 3/4" max if you ever intend on using a 1" impact wrench. Most people do not so they go with 1/2" or 3/8". I used 3/4" but I need to use the big IR 1" impact, 1200 ft-lb torque on alot of things. Your pressure will probably be 120psi max. Pex is rated to like 200psi at 75 degrees and about 180psi at 120 or so. I have never had a problem and it poses no danger unlike pvc which can have flying objects. My peterbilt has the governor set at 135psi and I have the compressor at my shop at 150psi.
  8. Sorry to hear that dude. Can't imagine that kind of results. What history does your doc have? Mine had over 14,000 procedures and no failures like what you describe. Most will redo it for free, check into that.
  9. Actually it was a joke. Again, you have user issues with your computer not the site IMO so I suggest you look for answers elsewhere since your question has been apparently answered by several people already.
  10. Actually I have no idea, I don't experience the problems your having so I would assume it has something to do with your browser settings/controls. That seems to be the case since everyone doesn't share the same problem your having.
  11. No, we do that over at zcar.com.
  12. Finally got back to the z! Whew, christmas was good. Hope yours was as well. No I didn't get any hotrod parts I installed the high drum. You put the torrington bearing in needles down install the input shaft in the drum and install the high drum. Then you install the low band. Pretty simple. Next we have to install the pump and check clearances. If the clearances are ok, then we button the pump down and do the valve body and tail section. I'll take some pics tomorrow and add them so you can see what I did. I will have to modify the pump for HP use, so I'll detail those mods as well before we stuff it in and check clearances.
  13. Chevy doesn't have the distributor in the front.
  14. It's all serviceable. Use and old ring to shave the tight ring lands by rolling the ring in the groove like a tire in the track. Ring in one hand, piston in the other. The nicks, just take a jewelers file and touch up the one that wont let the bearing sit, you'll be fine. Pretty minor marks really, the piston is no big deal, if your really worried about it buy one piston.
  15. No doubt delivering christmas to certain special people?!!! You Da Man!!!! Especially since you were doing it in the z sled! YeeeHaWWWW!
  16. So, what are you expecting out of the gt35r that you were not getting out of the hy35 that you had? Just curious. What are you expecting out of the built motor? Any drivetrain mods coming too?
  17. You forgot "love thy administrator" in your 3-d graph!!!! That is strike one. Oh, and you only get 2 strikes, this isn't baseball!
  18. Actually it's pretty obvious that the nut behind the wheel is "loose" Probably loctite that too.
