  1. And speaking of being off the deep end, Where is the vw powered unicycle?
  2. Jeff still owes me money, $200, that I sent to him paypal by mistake 1 year ago. Whats up with that?
  3. OMFG! That is too funny! How did you find out?!?!! :lmao:
  4. Just FYI, catalytic converters have a design lifespan of 5 years.
  5. That is not chevy engine so I moved it to the appropriate forum. The 403 is an oldsmobile engine that has a questionable bottom end design in the main web area. Not suited to high rpm usage but more of a medium performance engine IMO up to about 500HP which is pretty stout in most books as long as you keep the rpms under 6k.
  6. What he said. Yes it is a refractory lining like a furnace has. No dehumidifier necessary in my climate but they make a plug in model (there is a hole in the floor of most gun safes) that you run the cord through to plug in. Good idea up where your at.
  7. I have 2 gun safes, I bought both and yes they included delivery and setup, mine are bolted to the floor. Check though cause often they post a cheap price and delivery and setup is extra. They are a good idea cause you can store all your valuables and irreplacable papers in them too on the shelves. Fireproof rating is a good idea also and some cheap ones don't have them. I got the extra upgraded fire rating when I got mine.
  8. Yup, just when you say nothing can touch the car you got along comes something better and faster! Still fast I am sure but in this day and age extreme seems to be the norm.
  9. I had no idea my new hero was really a smurf!!!
  10. IMO the hardened seat issue is really a non issue and nothing but a bunch of hype. The lead was a guide and stem lubricant not a seat lube. I have never seen any issues using old heads without hardened seats with todays gas.
  11. If it is the real deal then buy it anyway, it's worth alot more to a guy restoring a chevy than anything else.
  12. I worked for schlumberger for 4 years. You will be hammering and packing iron for quite awhile. You will go to their in-house engineering school and driving school and get your cdl when you get out. I already had mine so it was no big deal to me. The work is hard, the hours are long and you will be doing cement testing, cement head pressure testing, etc. grunt work for probably a year or so before you bust out running any jobs. If you stay with them then it'll be ok, if that's not what you want to do better look elsewhere. I believe they have a 10% success rate with engineers which is why they hire so many. Out of my class of 25 or so only 3 or 4 still work there. Oh, you will get a job offer before you leave the interview, I'll bet $5 on that! It's a guaranteed job deal.
  13. You'll like the XD, I am sure it's not going to be what you really really want, but you will like it just the same. Buddy of mine has one and I shot it again today. Like my Colt better but it shoots pretty good out of the box.
  14. I agree, the glock kind of sucks in the ejection dept. Doesn't feel the same as the XD either. I'd take the XD over the glock any day having shot both.
  15. Yes, that magic 3.25 inch stroke can do wonders IMO.
  16. That is di-electric grease which is non electric conducting grease. You can't use regular white grease. You can buy that at Napa if you happen to need some more when using an old module. Be sure to use pleanty rather than skimp on that.
  17. Yeah, me too. I think from the vids that I have watched the gtr is definately easier to drive to it's limits than other cars. That doesn't mean you'll be the fastest but probably faster than if you were driving the vette that requires alot of throttle control along with alot of driving skills.
  18. Well your not comparing equal design rods. The Eagle SIR are more of a stock replacement rod that have a through bolt design where the KMJ rods use a capscrew. I'd try the KMJ rods, I think they will be fine. They look to be another chinese product. I have never understood the HP rating thing, should be an rpm rating like the better rods use like 1200HP and 10000 rpm IMO.
  19. JM i don't have over $1000 in my series 80 enhanced SS 1911 switchbarrel gun that I bought new which included feed ramp mods, match bushing fitted, match link, all the plastic trigger parts replaced with metal, target hammer, trigger job, SS .400 corbon barrel, matching recoil spring, match bushing, etc., all fitted and ready to go. I guess if your buying new from a store that is one thing paying retail, but you might just look around and find a good used one and a good gunsmith. Look up Frank Combs at the shooting iron on the net. I hear he builds awesome .45's for a great price. You could ship it to him and he can send it back. Ever see a 1911 feed empty cases from the Clip!????!!! As for accuracy, it'll out shoot anyone here in IPSC.
  20. A properly massaged 1911 will feed empty cases without any problems. Spending a little money making it function properly is kind of like making a hybrid z or any other car your custom jewel. The fun is in the modifying. Any copentent gunsmith can make that happen pretty cheaply IMO.

Looks like it's holding the bridge up! LOL! BTW that is a track hoe not a back hoe. Weight of that one is about 60,000+ lbs not 8 tons. That was a 50 ton lowboy hauling it before the wreck. Detachable neck model. Total weight would have been over 90,000lb.
  22. OMG!!!! The cat is out of the bag! :lmao:
