  1. First, thanks for the responses. Block is the F54. The only passageways in the block which don't have a matching hole in the gasket are circled. See below:
  2. I have the 90.5mm metal Stoker Gasket. The coolant holes are not lining up. In this picture the gasket has small circular holes verses the "L" shaped (sort of) holes on the P90. Should I have the circular holes enlarged? On a drill press? On these next two pics there are no coolant holes in the gasket to match the head. Whats the best procedure here? Thanks for the advice. steve
  3. Thanks for the link. steve
  4. How long is your prybar? I used a 4 foot one. I'd first get the longest cheapest one you can find. Try that first if you're using a shorter bar. Harbor Freight or maybe Lowes/Home Depot for a longer one.
  5. I'm putting together my stroker. L28 with a P90 and 240sx pistons. (KA24s if I remember correctly) In assembling the block the piston rose above the block by .6mm. As described here: http://www.geocities.com/inlinestroker/index.htm (Actually a typo on that page. States .06mm but should be .6mm) I had the pistons ground down approx .7mm. So that leaves a deck height of .1mm textbook. In measuring each install piston it averages .12 deck height. Coupled with my .8mm metal head gasket that give me a quench of approx. .92mm or .036 inches. Searching the web regarding the correct amount of Quench provides varying recommended distances between the head and piston. One post on hybrid z stated anything over .035" is too much and other engine building sites talk about running up to .05"... Suggestions anyone? Thanks steve
  6. Uh, oversized piston usually state the oversizing on them. Unless that "90" is a standard Nissan marking, could that block be overbored by .090"?
  7. I'm installing one as well. Here's a thread on zcar.com http://www.zcar.com/forums/890227/rear-main-seal-install-advice
  8. I'd test the compression before anything....then you can fix any problems with the motor apart.
  9. Tom, I'm putting a stroker together. Which ring do you need. I'll donate to ya. I had to buy 2 sets of 4 pistons. Have an extra 2 of everything. steve
  10. C, Ya,I have a couple of books suggesting the silicon..The direction I have the seals pointing seems to make sense...thanks, steve
  11. Installing the rear main seal on my stroker project. The pics in the Datsun rebuild book aren't exactly clear. Which way do the side seals go in relation the the expander and which direction do the rubbers seals face? Does the "U" of the seal face inward toward the motor or outward toward the fenders....so to speak? I assume outward but need to be sure. Thanks, steve
  12. A shout out to all crank pirates...........
  13. Z cranks are internally balanced. So yes, the shop will not need your balancer. Not sure what the above response is saying.
  14. I'm interested in buying if he passes Steve
  15. Thanks, but I think I got one. steve
  16. I'm putting a stroker together right now. I searched never found a non metal one. Are you sure you need a 2mm?
  17. Anybody have an exhaust valve laying around? Need the size for P90 or P79. thanks ss
  18. T, Thanks, yeah just a weekend ride. Regarding Kris, anything is possible but he needs to look at the block. N42 then dished pistons...F54 could be either. If I remember correctly. One would hope if someone put the p90 on their flat tops are underneath.
  19. Hard to know if its stroked for sure...Does it have a metal head gasket? Could be one clue
  20. Awesome! The SM needles work fine? Rev to 6500 with no problem?
  21. Thanks, I currently have a stage 2 Schneider cam installed on my current car. (Thats why I haven't test fit the head/n36 yet.) Steve
  22. Do I need to weld or fill in the injector ports a my P90 when used with an N36 (260z) intake manifold? Or will the diameter of the N36 simply cover them? Using SUs on a stroker. thanks steve
