  1. Austin you are killing me here...is it the weekend yet? I have a new set of door panels I would like to install on the car and it would be great if the kit cleared the panels.
  2. Thank you for taking the time out to answer my questions! I can't wait to get em here and Justin should be here Monday with the flares. Now just to get the drive train switched over!
  3. Ok, so I spoke to John today and.... ordered today!!!!!!!!! Should be here in two weeks! Anodized black centers and polished lips. 17 x 9.5 -13 fronts 17 x 11.5 -19 rears we changed the rear to get a little more tire under the car and bump the backspace up to 5.5". I think I will run 255/40 fronts and 315/35 rears....we shall see!
  4. Pete, No idea yet. I gave it to a friend but he has no where to store it and can't touch it for another 2 yrs!. I can't store it at the house cause my mother wants me to down size from the three. Between the v8 car and the turbo build....I can't keep it and make it a track only car. Any ideas? Maybe my new Z club track car?
  5. LOL, well the red car was the "Bob Sharp" car and was worth lots of MONEY.... now you wanna talk about ruining a car.....that 70 car I have tisk tisk. lmao
  6. Well.......red! I am going for the red n black combo with this Z. I always wanted the CCWs and figured this is the time to do it. I will check my specs again and order within the week.
  7. As some of you guys may know I am rebuilding my V8 Z into a "new" chassis. So I order the super wide ZGs from Justin (280zForce). Here are my specs I am thinking of running and tell me what you guys think. Front: 17x9.5 with -13 offset This should be good for 4.7" of backspace. Rear: 17x11 with -19 offset This should be good for 5.25" of backspace. I am running ground control coil over setups with AZ rear brakes and adj control arms front/rear. I believe I shouldn't have any problems with full lock of the front wheels with rubbing the frame rails...thanks to double checking some numbers with Justin and Mike (ZGAD). I am going with a polished lip and black centers......tell me what you guys think! Thanks.
  8. Boy time is flying! Well wanted to update everyone what is going on with the build. I picked up the block and head yesterday from the machine shop....they look good! What did I get done so far? Block: Boil/Clean block Magnaflux Bore & Hone Deck the block Head: Port match the head with the intake gasket 3 angle valve job port n polish shroud the head new valve guides and new valves installed Nissan Comp AL valve spring retainers So I will try and get pics for you guys soon. My next step is to find a nice cam to match the work done to the head. I also will drop off the entire rotating assembly to the shop to get them balanced. I am moving slow but very excited! Also I have to make an edit to the first post.....the red 71 Z car is now getting my V8 setup from the 73. This car is getting the L30ET: 2/70 Z!
  9. Not 100% true, the grain in the panel is a little different.
  10. Thanks I remember we did that. All the car will need this time is to be wired up in the new car and it should fire right up. There are a few things I would like do this time and have everything working in this car. The car will be going to the body shop to have the engine bay sprayed and prep some of the body...I hope to have it back in a few weeks. I am going with the super wide CF ZGs from Justin and a set off CCW wheels. Pics are coming soon! I feel like I am doing this swap all over again......I am.
  11. I am moving it all over to a clean 71 car I bought. The 73 car will become a rolling shell that was already set up for the v8. How far are you from zip 10956? I am going to sell the shell prob within the next month...it is not perfect but much cleaner than cars you are going to find around here. pm me if you want more info. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=142848
  12. That is great news! I love the kit....Guy you will be very happy with it.
  13. lol, I still have the 70 car. Do whatever makes you happy! I am building a 3 liter turbo motor for my early 240z...vin 1905.....that doesn't make the purist happy but who cares! And you can get a L28ET to 300hp no problem without spending huge money.
  14. Correct, I had 3 donors and that was the case. Would have loved to mount that tank but I didn't want to give up the spare. Now that the car is up and running....I have no spare to run around with cause I have the Wilwoods all the way around...go figure!
  15. At least point him in the right direction if you are going to post SEARCH. Anyway welcome to HBZ and would love to hear/ see this 70 Z you just got. In order to reach the goals you want: turbo: find a 81-83 280zxt donor (L28ET).....this is the cheapest way to go V8: find a small block (old school motor if you have one laying around or free...or you can go with the LT1'S/LS1'S which would cost more money to do) Building a N/A motor will be the most cash. There are plenty of motor swaps you can do just search for LS1 LT1 L28ET SR20...etc. Jeff was right about searching for answers to some basic questions beause it all has been covered once or twice before. Now get us some pics!
  16. Car is now on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks___1971-datsun-240z_W0QQitemZ220358711800QQddnZCarsQ20Q26Q20TrucksQQddiZ2282QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item220358711800&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A317%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
  17. Glad you didn't buy it if it was junk. I may have a roller for you but I have to talk to a friend first. I am taking my LS1/T56 out of my 73.
  18. O it will be as you look around more.....don't fall into the trap "While I am at it"... Nice starting point.
  19. Funny thing is, we have both of the cars sitting in the driveway...84 maxima and 91 convert M30...nice.
  20. I think this is the same car that was for sale maybe 2 months ago for $1000. For 2.2k you are going the least amount of rust as possible or you can afford. We need better pics to help you buy this car: Floors, hatch, rails, spare tire, about the tail lights, battery bix, dog legs and roof. Are you looking for a complete car or a roller?
  21. I plan to install it on my car this time. I have been running the car 7500 miles (yr n half) without it and can say...the rear end does want to step out on you. Yes, I have ran 3 track days this way. I guess I got use to it and my braking was always one of my main concerns. 1 tuff z drove my car and didn't think it was as bad as his when he wasn't running the prob valve. I have the AZ kit all the way around vs his Ross 13 inch up fronts and sx in the rear.....in short.....install it PS- Don't forget to cut the rotors when you first get em.
  22. Cameron, what temp are you trying to get your LS motor to run at? I am having a hard time understanding what you are really looking to do and gain?
