  1. Yeah, I bit the bullet and shelled out the money for it. I do not have time to sourse a Ls1 harness and so on. I am also hoping to get it within the next week and half. Thanks about the seats...I have to loss alil weight cause it is a TIGHT fit lol. I am 5'10 205lbs but hey they look good and have enough clearance for the doors and cage....I love it! Hows your car coming along?
  2. With school ending and looking for a job and thinking about taking the GMATs becoming hard to find time to travel and work on the car. BUT....I will get it done! This past weekend I was able to pull the tank so I can ship it out to have the sump made and tank restored which should only take a week. Fuel lines and fittings were ordered today. FPR and FP ordered so this takes care of the fuel system. I am waiting for my harness which should be here in another week. Lots of little things to do but it is coming together. This weekend spend some time bolting in the cage and mounting the seats. The seats are mounted with the stock 240z rails and came out really well. This idea was that of David aka 1tuffz. For the pasn seat we took two of the "free" sliding sliders and moved the mounting points toward the tranny tunnel. After this was done, a hole was drilled and a screw placed to fix the seat in place. So basically the pasn seat is fixed in place all the way back. For the drivers seat aas you can see from the pic, the adj slider is mounted upside down and the bolts that hold the rails to the seat and to the body are reversed. In other words you can press the bolts out and place them in other sets of holes on the same rail. I can adj my driver seat as far back as the second to last point or lock position (why not all the way back? the back of the seat hit the cage) This is ok becauase I fit and so did David who is over 6 feet. OK OK PICS -> The plan of attack now.....since I have to go home for a job interview this week I will lose another weekend to work on the car. So I am ordering everything now to get a massive work weekend in 2 weeks from now. The harness should be back, tank, lines and everything else needed. I will have the motor wired up by the same person who did David's car. Pull the motor after and throw the SS brake lines and put the motor back in. As for the Q45 rear end, I have most of what I need except front mount and axles. To make more pressure on myself, the car is scheduled for Dyno tune and cam job on May 14th. So back to gettin it done.
  3. I was wondering about that car the other day.....I really like it.
  4. Really I have to check this out......always thought people were nuts wearin glasses when it is cloudy or rainy out. Learn something new everyday.
  5. Just what I need to see as I order parts! I have a few things on that list already and hope to be in the 10's when I learn how to drive the car.
  6. Bump....lol Just wondering if these mounts are gonna be sold at all? About that time to get all the q45 stuff together.
  7. Nice vid once again.......I am making a folder for your vids on my comp!!! lol More......please.
  8. Justin I love the car. My car will look something like that when it is time for paint.
  9. Like I said before, the engine mounts are great and of good quality. Def worth the money esp if you can not fab things up yourself. Saves lots of time and guess work. As for the tranny CM different story. Had to make it work which wasn't a bunch of work but it was not just throw it up and you are ready to go. Also the fact that I was sent the wrong CM and was told to pay for my own shipping to replace did not do JCI well in my book. So if you are doing a LSx swap and have no way of makin mounts or CM yourself....great kit.....just dont expect great service and the direction sucks. Glad I bought the kit anyway
  10. Yeah sites been down for some time....someone hacked it and you know what that led to. John is the pres of the club who drives the 350z and has a series 1 240z that is getting a resto job as we speak. ZCCR's Monthly Membership Meeting is every third Thursaday of the month. PINEAPPLE JACKS at 485 Spencerport Rd. in Gates. As always, dinner starting at 6pm, meeting to follow at 7pm. Pineapple Jacks is located on Spencerport Road just west of the Long Pond Rd. intersection. Looks like you want to go LS2 this winter 07?
  11. Adam I am Alfred, Ny just an hour n half south of you. I am part of the Rochester Z club ZCCR. Great bunch of people and plenty of Z's in the area. My car right now is in rochester and undergoing an LS1 swap(http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=119544). Pm me and we can hook up next weekend when I am back around.
  12. That does make sense to me also. I think I am going to ditch the LS1 tank and give this setup a try. Worst case is that I will have to always keep 1/2 tank in the car. I am going to see how far into PA these guys are from NYC.
  13. Ron your daily driver I want....lol Also love the old school box flared M3.
  14. Hmm, this sounds like something I can do instead of going with the LS1 tank. Within the next week I have to know exactly what I am doing. I like the fact that the weld in baffles but I am wondering on the track will the car still be starved for gas in had cornering. I know with the stock tank everyone has told me you have to keep atleast half tank always. For this reason I was just goig to go with the LS1 tank......hmmmm Either way the tank looks great.....get that thing mounted so we can see =)
  15. Ok so I am home for Spring Break but was able to get something done on the car finally with the JCI tranny mount. I had to get the mount cout about 1/2 inch on the pasn side to clear the frame rails. Also cut down the fins around the rev switch which is real easy to do. I did massage the tranny tunnel as you can tell from the pic (alil more than I needed) but I wanted to make sure the mount was tight in the tunnel. I also had to cut off a section on the floor reinforcement that goes on the inside of the car because it would not clear the tranny tunnel. I slotted the wholes in case I have to adj the tranny over to the pasn side some more. Like stated before the motor mounts are great....tranny different story! So now motor and tranny is being held on its own. Also bolted up my new adj LCA from Brian which are very nice by the way. With this LCA I can change caster, camber and toe really easy without screwing around with other nuts n bolts. Also put the FairLady mirrors on just for pics to see what they look like. Some questions you might have from the pics.....yes the baddog rails have surface rust and yes it has a crappy weld job to it...answer...I welded it and plan on have this prof welded correct my work and I forgot to spray some primer on it last year. No the LCA is not in its final assembly position. Now some pics: As you can see my Z has good company in the garage. lol Keeping my fingers cross for an early graduation gift that I do have to pay back. I asked my parents to borrow 3k so I can get the car "start and maybe move under its own power" by my bday in April. I got the ok with strict rules of repayment.... not a problem with me. So now I have to source LS1 tank....get that all fabbed in, fuel lines, harness etc. I think I am going to be selling the SS fuel lines so I will let you guys know. If I get a really good offer then I will let you know faster.....

  17. Glad to hear you had a good weekend with the car. Take a look at my update to see my horrible weld job with the baddog frame rails last yr! lol I am going to have this prof welder finish the job for me. Can't wait to see your car on the road, as for gas tank I am going with the LS1 tank vs the 75 280 tank. Anyway keep it going and you will be there soon.
