  1. Tony? Alan? If its an LY head, the head alone is worth more then 90% of the cars on this site.
  2. You would want to do it one of two ways: 1. Alternate based on the firing order: 6 into 2 with 123 - 456. 2. Combine based on firing order: 6 into 2 with 153 - 624. I don't know which is better for performance but my guess would be the first.
  3. I think you get a booth at the next MSA show and sell your Z chocolates. Sell 1/2s and wholes.
  4. To remind everyone regarding "auctions" on this site: Take the auctions to eBay.
  5. To remind everyone regarding "auctions" on this site: Take the auctions to eBay.
  6. All the air for the heater, defroster, and the AC unit come through the cowl vents.
  7. I'm about to embark on the RB pan odyssey for a customer. Did any of you guys finish yours and are happy with the results? FYI... I might make a production run of 5 or 10 or so if the cost works out unless there is a solution already made.
  8. I use USPS for all my shipping to Australia. Its the cheapest and I've had packages sent to Perth arrive in 5 business days. I don't think you can fly to Perth in 5 days...
  9. Update on IMPAXX... Dow is negotiating distribution agreements with two or three companies to make IMPAXX available to normal people like us. Right now its only available to OEMs and approved professional race teams. I'm trying to get some samples backdoored to me so I can mock something up in a 240Z.
  10. Then I don't understand the price. Also, I don't understand why no vents. Its kinda important for the HVAC stuff to work...
  11. Here's a video of the wreck, from the Miata:
  12. With the grill openings in the cowl hood the mold is a fairly complex part and making it takes more time to make sure the glass and CF is packed down and there are no bubbles. The hood uses more materials but I bet the cowl panel takes more time to make.
  13. Always remember, the stock market is not the economy. Its easy to forget that.
  14. A little too obvious, huh? The product is the same whether its bought from me or any other vendor and if you know what you're doing, buy it from the lowest price seller. What I try to sell is the support I can provide for those that need some help getting the Tokico products installed and tuned. A lot of that support (from me and a LOT of others) has already posted on this web over the last 8 or 10 years.
  15. For my own daily driver 240Z I ran Tokico HP springs and shocks. And I'm the same guy who spent close to $10,000 to put Penske triple adjustable racing shocks in his road race 240Z. Go figure...
  16. I've got a call into Dow regarding their IMPAXX energy absorption foam. I've got a 240Z door I'm going to cut up and see how that foam can be positioned inside relative to a various types of door bars.
  17. I got the impression that the Miata rode over the rocker panel and hit the door bar basically square in the center of the X.
  18. Some real world results: http://www.improvedtouring.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24806
  19. Its a pretty good deal. I sell the kit for $527 which basically matches the eBay sellers price (including shipping). The kit weighs in close to 50 lbs. so actual shipping costs can be close to $50 if its shipped cross country. My price does not include shipping, but then again you get to ask me questions if you have problems installing it...
  20. An old time race car builder (Dave Kent) used beer cans to determine the coping cut (he always had a good supply around the shop). Cut both ends off, cut down the length, wrap around a short end of bar tubing, position correctly, then cut and trim the can to get the correct cope.
  21. Great actor, racer, and philanthropist.
  22. I goofed the original post (I'll edit it). The welder requires single phase so its got a sub panel with a 70amp single phase breaker. Can't. I rent a shop in a light duty industrial complex. What's worse is that the place is wired with Aluminum. I have replaced all the wiring I can (and some I'm not supposed to) with copper. This is ultimately the problem and tends to recur. The last time it did it the 100amp 3 phase breaker got taken out (it was about 30+ years old) along with the wire. This time the aluminum lug bracket got smoked along with the wire. After fixing yesterday the electrician measured the amps through each leg while I was welding and the one that fails was seeing 66 amps, which he said was below the 100amp rating for the wire. The power for this complex sucks. The best I can get is 208 and it sometimes sags below 200. I know of a HAAS three axis mill in this complex that loses its power supply every couple years. Landlord says, "SCE is the problem." SCE says "Not our problem."
  23. Then there's the world famous "Screaming Barbara meets Psycho Laura." http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xwatR2xD79E
