  1. If you look at my Tokico products page you'll see that I sell Tokico shocks, springs, etc. For my last street 240Z I ran the Tokico HP shocks and set of Eibach Pro springs. Worked very well. MSA has the Eibach springs on sale and I can pretty much beat anyone's price on the Tokicos.

  4. Per the folks at Sunbelt, psi is pounds per square inch of air pressure measured with a very accurate air pressure gauge 18" from the final merge collector in the header.
  5. FYI... I've had a number of 240Zs blasted for customers and the typical cost using two different media is $800 to $1,000. That gets you a completely clean car with no panel warping or surface changes.

  7. No real thermal expansion issues with stainless bolts in the applications you mention. Just be aware that stainless fasteners can gall and sieze up when tightening so use a lube on the threads.
  8. You would have to remove the shocks to see the part number. When you installed the front shocks, did they fill up the length of the strut tube or did you have to install a spacer on top or bottom?
  9. Remember, 1" of ARB deflection is 1/2" of suspension travel, assuming equal movement on each side of the car.
  10. Actually, no. The dash number indicates that the hose flows the same as a metal tube with an OD measured in 16ths of an inch. So a -6 hose flows the same as a 3/8" metal tube. Remember, in the 1930s when the AN system came out they were replacing metal lines and needed an equivilancy formula.
  11. We're trying to validate the measurement process. Does a 200 lb. load on one end of the bar show up as a 200 lb load on the scale? It should. If, for some reason, a 400 lb. load on the free end of the bar shows up as a 200 lb. load on the scale, where did the other 200 lbs. of load go? It has to go somewhere and if it disappears into the bar as deflection I think that bar would heat up significantly.
  12. No, I think the original number is correct. Equal and opposite reaction thing. Hang a known weight off the free end of the bar in the fixture you've set up and read the measurement on the scale.

  14. Automatic transmissions are good for 120K miles behind the 12 cylinder. If it hasn't already been repalced, plan on replacing it.
  15. Restriction (or more properly - pressure) is a result of many things - wall friction, bend radius, ID transitions, muffler type, overall exhaust construction. Gas moving from a 2" ID to a 3" ID experiences a pressure drop which may help exhaust flow depending on the transition from 2" to 3", the placement of the transition, and engine tune. So to answer your question , it depends. 1. A poorly designed and built 3" exhaust would be worse then a properly designed and built 2" exhaust. 2. A properly designed and built 3" exhuast would be better then aproperly designed and built 2" exhaust.
  16. The underside of the camber plates are exposed to road dirt. The upper side can be sealed with Duct Tape in your choice of interior or paint matching colors.
  17. Adam, What are the part numbers of the Illumina shocks you installed in the struts?
  18. A piece of sheet metal that has a curve or bends in resists bending more then a straight, flat peice. The rear wheel wells on the 240Z are made up of an inner and an outter piece of curved sheet metal and are a pretty strong part of the chassis. But, IMHO, the corner where the rocker panel, floor pan, and wheel well meet is probably the strongest part of the unibody. Five formed sheet metal panels meet there.
  19. You're getting old... I drove on the street with one for two years and the current Nismo R-Tune 1.5 way LSD in my 350Z pretty much acts like a welded diff with it setup for 100% lock (I need to fix that). I'm getting tired of people running up to me in parking lots telling me something is broken in the back of my car.
