  1. Taylor Race Engineering has put Quaife, Jerico, T56, and other gearboxes behind the L6. http://www.taylor-race.com
  2. Miata. They are geat cars and I could give a rat's ass if some knuckle dragger thinks I'm gay because of the car I drive.
  3. You really need to replace the bearings, especially if they are getting stuck on the spindle. If you're not going to do that, then clean then thoroughly, blow them dry without spinning the rollers or races very fast and use the grease you mentioned above. You must replace the cotter pin and the grease seal. Those are not multi-use parts.
  4. I just did new wheel bearings on a 240Z today. I packed the grease in by hand. Wear latex gloves and do it in a very clean spot on your workbench. Buy new bearings, use synthetic grease (Mobil 1, Redline CV2), use a new cotter pin, and follow the instructions in the FSM regarding tightening the nut.
  5. OC Driveline in Placentia or Unitrax in Anaheim.
  6. Better to find the problem now in the garage then braking hard from 120 mph. Saw a Posche 944 Turbo go completely sideways at 140 mph when he braked for turn 1 at WSIR. He slid off the track and vanished in a cloud of dust. Car was a complete writeoff but the driver walked away. Blown head gasket dumped water on the track right in front of his rear wheels. Now you have alot more time to get ready for the next race!
  7. B-36 although they pretty much don't exist anymore. Magnesium and aluminum airframe, six Pratt & Whitney 4360s Wasp Major 28 cylinder radial engines, four GE J47 jet engines, and it could carry the 42,000 lb MK17 10 to 15 megaton hydrogen bomb (the largest nuclear weapon in the US aresenal). At takeoff the pilots would say, "Six churning, four burning, and one glowing..."
  8. Most likely the brake lever cable needs adjusting to allow the master cylinder to retract all the way. Pressure is released in hybraulic brake systems only when the master cylinder pistons retract completely.
  9. Contact a local smog referee station and ask them these questions. Relying on us to determine the legality of what you're doing is like Paris Hilton relying on her PR agent for advice on driving with a suspended license.
  10. Sounds like its going to be a killer engine. Glad it worked out with JMS. I was curious why they moved to El Monte so I called and got the story. Seems like Monrovia wanted their property for redevelopment so they bought JMS out and moved them. That's the second time old man Johnson has made a bunch of money from the city.
  11. That was in my younger, angrier days. Now I'm old and passive.
  12. Do laps around your warehouse for about 30 minutes if you get time. Just put it in second gear and drive. That will help shakeout 50% of the problems you're going to have this weekend and its nice to find them 100 yards from the shop.
  13. OK, I'm going to close this thread. Its really not adding any tech to the site and has degraded to point that are people throwing around rumored dyno numbers as proof of some assertion.
