Hi guys, I'm finally fed up with trying to get the edis to wor, so I'm just saying f it and I'm looking for an l28et distributor, cap rotor, wires, and a coil I suppose. The last three aren't vital, I mostly just need the distributor One thing to preface, Cheap is good, as I am barely more than broke, but it needs to be a working unit Lmk via pm what you've got

Lookin good man, you need to post more pics. Did you figure out your fan or did you still need some assistance? If the car runs you can bring her up to my place and I can take a look at it and see if it's something I can help out with, I never got around to answering your pm about that. -
It's a grant hub with an adapter made by forever sharp and an nrg quick release

I have a clutch master if the pedal assemblies don't come with one

Still in process, but its comin along, i FINALLY got my harness wrapped and figured out, its still a bit of a clusterfuck under the dash, but noone can see it so its NBD and everything works. I had an issue where my turn signals were backwards (two way switches work like they logically should, not the way you think they should BTW) and my hazards didnt work (had the diodes in backwards) That and one of the flashers i got in my harness kit is bad, but that doesnt really matter. Last night, i bought a honda accord wiper motor to do that conversion, since my old motor died, i have the wires and everything for it, i just need to install it and wire it up and it should be good to go. and i also bought 2 yards of THIS its some 3/8" foam backed vinyl with diamonds similar to that on the 240z stock, im gonna use that in the stock locations (sides of the trans tunnel, maybe on the rockers, i still have the original stuff on the rear wheel wells so ill probably keep that. should look pretty fancy pants, anywho heres some update pics. like i said, the dash is in for the final time, ive got some custom brackets for my center console(the stock one that went under it would contact the constant 12v peg on the ignition switch, so i had to cut the bracket for it out and raise the switch up an inch to clear, so ive got two brackets on the very edge of the trans tunnel and i also got a lower shift boot installed to at least help with interior noise... I started from the front and worked my way around, you cant see my airhorn in this picture (a shitty napa or something two tone, sounded really homo with both so i took the high tone out) but its just to left (cars left, right in the picture) of the intercooler, just next to the headlight bucket. You can also see my h4 conversion headlights (nothing to see really, theyre just there.) nothing terribly special going on here, nothing new at least. im a big fan of the painted lettering though. the ass end is pretty much unchanged my dash is IN for the last time hopefully, got my speedhut tach and speedo in place and my chitty parts store equus everything else (im gonna be replacing those with speedhuts soon) this pic shows off the nardi nicely, as well as the floor mounts, and the lower switch panel and turbo timer, unfortunately, not much can be seen of the upper (you can also see the GPS dongle for the speedo front and center on the dash peice) lastly, my parts store racing seats and my 5 points (minus the submarine belt) that i traded for a shitty catch can and an S13 hub) Currently they are just attached to the stock 3rd point mount, but im planning on building a rear strut tower brace with provisions for them.

150 to remove and reinstall both pieces of glass? Sounds like a steal to me. Getting windshields out of old cars is a giant pita

when you quite literally have spent more time wiring than you have driving the damn car -

Havent been updating this thread, or taking pictures, but heres ome eye candy. Floors have been replaced, the seats are in, my new 5 points (that i traded for a shitty oil catch can and the S13 hub i had) sans the submarine belt are in. My car has Wiring again, and it all appears to be working well. i have a few things to work out, but all the essentials are working (headlights, taillights, brakes, hi beams, etc) the horn and turn signals dont but i will figure that out in due time, my main thing was making sure that the MS and the starter circuit all worked, and they do, so yeah here is my video, ignore my rambling, i was excited that (aside from forgetting to put my coil pack on) it started first try. Still runs like shite, but now that the wiring is nice and new i can pave the way to getting her tuned and driving. heres my video. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/?action=view¤t=IMG_00841.mp4 i forgot to mention that this is with the bung that i had for the vacuum booster unplugged (which it idles well with, go figure...)

Did you change all of the wires or just one? If you changed all of them, did you make sure that you connected them in the right firing order? -
Which lowering springs to buy?
Fuzzydicerule replied to Phantom Z's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
You're not going to get a good stance with off the shelf lowering springs. and you're not getting a good ride with said stance with stock length strut tubes. TBH, Im going to piece together my own ground control style set using generic hats and threaded sections, QA1 springs, and some Bilstein P30 strut inserts (refer to the coilover install in the faqs section.) i was torn between a ground control style kit and getting an S13 coilover conversion kit, and some literature i found while researching the latter , made me decide on the former (basically, a test of shocks, ending by saying everything other than bilstein, penske, koni, and a handful of others are complete rubbish, and that a GC Kit with bilsteins will ride and handle much better than say a set of S13 megans or Godspeed or one of those generic Coilovers) -
Which lowering springs to buy?
Fuzzydicerule replied to Phantom Z's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I had tokico lowering springs on my car with a 225/50/16 tire, and it looked like this Obviously an improvement on the stock rock crawler stance, but TBH it wasnt enough for me, i cut 3 of the dead coils up front and 1.5 coils out back and it sits like such big improvement looks wise. i have not been able to drive it yet, and TBH im expecting a pile of **** when it comes to the ride, seeing as i have at most 2 inches of bump travel... I plan on doing a coilover conversion as soon as possible the ride was pretty decent when the tokicos were stock length, and the car handled decently -

Sonic blue was discontinued in 03, not started, I believe only the base model cars had it I. 1999-2002, and then the cobra was availible in 03 -
Try pulling the fuel pump and primin it by hand, that can usually help get enough fuel in the bowls, honestly I would just pay 50 bucks and get a new pump and filter

If you're willing to overlook the manual( swapping its easy anyway). I know a gentleman who has a 280 that is rust free(. Or as near as can be construed with the car on the ground, straight frame, no rust on the rear lip or battery tray, etc) that has a rod knock, and he is selling for cheap, pm me if you're interested

Hey Dave, what all did you guys get done after we left? -
Farther north but that's the gist of it yeah. Where do they meet?

The relay board was worth it. My one suggestion is solder in your power and ground cables off the car. The edis uses a trigger wheel with a vr sensor, the edis6 module and a coil pack. It's completely independent aside from a signal to fire from the ms board. There's a write up on the FAQ section. I bolted the diyat 6.5" trigger to my l24 2 groove pulley, built a mount for the vr sensor out of aluminum flat stock and bolted the edis to an extra hole on the drivers side wheel well. I would definitely read that entire write up, it's pretty straightforward. The parts are expensive from pick a part though so did the best looking ones you can and get one of each

Yeah, not as much a harness as a large bunch of wires, but they are ALL labeled
-
Make sure you get a wiring harness btw. I'm using a relay board with their prebuilt exu-rb cable and wiring off of that is cake
