  1. That was made back in the late 1980's I believe. I have the article in a ZCAR magazine somewhere. Those are just big IMSA flares (the REAL ones) from way back. That Z had a 3 2-barrel SBC and a tilt front end. Sweet car owned with 2 other Z cars---only one had the L6. Davy
  2. Tim, I won't recommend anything to clean it with, although I would try Griots Garage or even a MBZ or BMW dealership if you are talking about fine leather. To condition the leather, Connolly Hide Food (at least that is what I think it used to called) was EXCELLENT at restoring (yes!) old, dry leather. Good luck. Davy
  3. Al, it's great to see you back once in a while! Hope your album sells like crazy---so your wife can sing too, eh? Cool. I don't know if I can make the Alameda show, but I'll check my schedule in May. Best wishes on a great mini-tour Davy
  4. Yep, no hood with a open element filter that draws through the top of the motor will let water in I'm sure. What a pity. Time for a 383! Good luck with the repairs. Davy
  5. Looking lean and mean! The rear spoiler makes it your car, so if you like it, that's what counts. I can nearly guarantee that for every person that says they don't like it, there is another who does... Nice car. Davy
  6. Courtesy Nissan has all of the CDs for each year of Z. I bought a tattered book from ebay for $75, but in retrospect, perhaps a CD that does not tear or smudge is the better way to go. Plus, you can print out as many pages as you want and bring them into the garage... Davy
  7. I also have 16" CCWs, but my offset is for a 240SX so the wheels look just a tad shallower, but your car is looking mean! Davy
  8. Gosh, it is beautiful! *sniff* my Chrysler unit is ugly in comparison. Glad you could at least get some of the parts from ACE. My local store had everything in droves. I guess it just depends on the store... Davy
  9. Try ACE hardware if you have one near you. They had everything I needed in stock. There were no Home Depots or Lowes in CA when Mike first wrote the JTR manual. He probably went to a small local hardware store and viola, instant parts. I went to a Crysler dealership to obtain (paid too much for) the correct parts. I'm wiser now and would have gone to Summit had I realized that I I could have swapped for another aftermarket brand... Davy
  10. Many Happy Returns, Dan! Enjoy your birthday!! Davy
  11. We learn something new everyday about those among us... Davy
  12. Wow, it's almost a gasser. Very cool. Davy
  13. Yes and No. If the wider spacer is any more expensive, it is not by much if anything at all. Your best bet is to email him and just ask the simple question. He is a nice guy Davy
  14. Either JTR's or MSA's mount (crossmember really) will work on the car. Those Hookers are for the Scarab (or Hooker kit) V8 conversion? You are stuck with the engine in the forward position, but I don't think that should have any impact on the transmission mount. You can use a stock rubber biscuit with the JTR crossmember, but I'm not sure about MSA's. Davy
  15. Yes, the whole window comes out---might take a tiny bit of force since the rubber surrounding the window may be sticking to the body. Keep in mind that there is not "trim" onthose windows--you're dealing with a fixed unit of metal, glass, and rubber, and it comes out all together! Davy
  16. I doubt you'll be sorry if you bought it. I was planning a 914 V8 swap, but after working out the numbers, my dirtball budget could only afford me a DIY 240Z V8 swap. It just works better for me. However, if you have the money for that car, it would be a VERY good thing for you to buy it IMO of course!! Send us pics... Davy
  17. It made my loins ache from laughing so hard! ROTFLMAO! Davy
  18. VinhZXT, it's good to see you back. With the recent chages in the forum, many 'old' members (read: inactive) were erased from the database. Check in once in while! Davy
  19. All the Z needs is a slight trim of the pipes... Some of the cars are actually cool, but nearly all of them appear to be lawsuits waiting to happen. Can you imagine a 4 to 5 foot long 'airdam' protruding from the front of your car? At a crosswalk, people may just walk right over it! Davy
  20. I wonder how much massaging it took to get that in there. The roadster has a truly small engine compartment. I'd like to see into his engine bay and see what clearances he has, etc. Clever swap, must be tons of fun too Davy
  21. How do you think I feel? Davy
