  1. Or use turndowns under the middle of the car to dilute the exhaust by the time it gets to the back of the car, but the CO seeping in could kill you or at least a few braincells in the meantime. Davy
  2. Darn right it is. It's ALWAYS about money. Politicians have not done anything for the good of the people in a long time...about 40 years or so. This is all BS and it involves money and padding their own re-elections. Ooops, sorry. I'm getting political and I'll stop. I know we have the new rules. Sorry. That totally bites. They are selling new cars at a rate the is unprecidented. Older cars are going into the scrap heap of history at the same rate, eyt they continue to complain and complain. They don't make 1970's cars anymore you idiots (that's aimed at them, not us). Ooooooh, just bit!
  3. Hmmm, this is a bit scary---how many "LT1's" are sold on ebay and from dismantlers that are actually not LT1's at all (5.7L motors anyway). Not good. When I do an LT1, I will want an LT1 5.7L!!! Grrrr, something else to have to look out for now  Davy
  4. Nothing like a cheap fix to solve an annoying problem! Davy
  5. David, the car looks great!! Great pictures of the LSI nestled in the engine bay. Very sano looking colors and everything. Great work to be proud of for sure. Davy
  6. Pete: Sorry to hear of the momentous issues with the headers! I swear life is too aggrivating sometimes. I bought some Sanderson's from zfan about two years ago and they are the same configuration as the ones you just bought, BUT they are round port for sure. If you need them for anything, test fitting, etc etc, I'll ship them out to you pronto. Just PM me. BLKMJK: Good to see you around here again. I used to love to read your posts and such!! Keep us updated on your new ventures. Sorry to hear about your accident... Davy
  7. Seriously? Is this per the government or race track?? Sheesh. Davy
  8. HAHAHAHAHA! That's too cool! Does everyone have one of these??? Hmmm. Aww, pissss. I'll just linger as an unknown quantity for a while too. Davy
  9. That's one hell of a burnout... Davy
  10. Pete, wish you the very best in getting it all installed and dialed in...you should be a pro by now, so I bet it takes only two evenings!! I seriously hope that you have better luck with the 406 then with the 327. Let us know what your driving impressions are after it is dialed in---share with us some of the numbers if you take it to the strip... Cheers, Davy

    Burnouts x2

But that's why they're so cool to do someplace other then the drag strip! Over 100 hp in our street driven Z cars is also just as stupid, but hey, you do what ya gotta do. I thought those Monster truck races and tractor pulls were also stupid until I actually watched. Everything is an event--to each his own. Nascar on TV for me is hideously BORING, but I love the race cars and would love to see a real race. Same thing for baseball--boring on TV for me, but great at the ballpark. Again, to each his own. That was one of the most intersting burnout contest videos I have seen--loved the vantage point of the bleachers; it gives you an idea of the magnitude of smoke put out by the cars. Cool! Davy
  12. The only caveat I can think of is the length of the exhaust and the muffler as well---the Suburban is loooong! That length of pipe combines with a 14" muffler case makes for a quiet note. Still, I'm impressed and I'd have to say that something similar might take place on a Z, but certainly not to the same degree. What do you run now?? Davy
  13. Veeeerrrrryyyyy niiiiiiiiiicccccce. Curious headlights though, anyone know what they are? Great execution for a ZG car. I'm game with everything except the motor and mirrors *sigh* I'll always want a V8... Davy
  14. I just had a Magnaflow installed on our Suburban. The Suburban system is basically a stock 3" and I had only the muffler replaced. I was very surprised to find out that the sound was near stock even though the muffler is a 14" long performance unit that you can actually see through from inlet through to outlet! You'd at least expect some baffles and whatnot to silence the exhaust note, but this sounds a lot like stock until you mash the accelerator pedal to the floor, but even then, it's not too bad at all. I think most Z guys like a little exhaust note, but if you are going for more of a stealth factor and want to quiet a V8, the Magnaflow might be a good alternative to stock or a noisier Flowmaster. Just a thought. Davy
  15. Hmmm, neat idea. One catch is to have a shifter stay strong enough...so how would the mechanism work and be up to par??? The idea is good, but I wonder what the execution would be like. Also to consider would be the shift boot and getting past that---it might be an issue if the detaching mechanism is inside the boot. Still the idea is intriguing. Davy

    Wanker drags

That's why I don't 'race' idiots in something that weighs 5000lb more. Any kids that brags about beating a truck when he's driving a Skyline shows what an ignorant noob he is. You should have smiled and laughed along with him, just building his ego until you start asking questions about his horsepower, his weight, and so on, comparing them to the big truck. His fire will die as you continue to yuck it up with him. Pretty soon he'll feel stupid and move on when he sees the bigger picture. Racing a truck and beating it would not be something I would brag about unless the truck was a Ford Lightning or Syclone/Typhoon, etc. Just shine him on... My $.02 Davy
  17. I really like the short videos of the car; pretty darn cool. Nice site too Davy
  18. I think I have LS1 envy Good luck, Dale!! Davy
  19. LOL!!! I just switched a name and laughed so hard I almost fell of the chair! Man, those are rich! Davy
  20. Superb looking car...JTR position too Love the wheels and all..man, IMSA flares mmmmm. Davy
  21. No--don't even think about it. Yes. No, for the same reasons that Tim stated above. Davy
  22. Rick, sorry to see that you are actually having to part out your Z stuff---I hope you get close to what you paid for it. Too bad it was impossible to finish the car---the 383 would have moved the Z something serious and the YZ kit would have made it look the part as well. Good luck in your future endeavors. Davy
