  1. Congrats on having a car that truly does work! ---more then I can say for many of us Davy
  2. Reminds me of the Monterey Histroic Races earlier this year---featured marque was Ferrari, but a lot of other exotics turned up as well. The red car is a McLaren F1 supercar---sweet. A tune up on one of those = more than all my cars and things put together... Davy
  3. Nice looking Z! I think you'll be able to make the Z a bit quicker for less moolah, which is what this site is all about Davy
  4. Well, you WOULD be stepping up to larger cubes then what you have now, right? That's the way I would try to rationalize getting what I want... Have you been in Don Manzo's 383 powered Z? His is a great example of a high 10 second car that has a good (internally) large motor. You have to love the fact that the original 350 is making mondo torque and hp to hurtle that car into the 10's!! 400+ cubes would be even better I'm of the opinion to make what you have even bigger if you can afford it (350 to 383 or 400 to 406, etc). In the end though, build what you want. Davy
  5. Ah, so this is obviously a smog legal swap since you are dropping it in a '77? Cool. Lot's of pictures... Davy
  6. I agree. I bought an installer/puller tool from Summit for not too much money and I can use it whenever I feel like pulling the balancer off...yet again! Seriously, I'm glad I bought the tool even if I only use it several times. Davy
  7. Oooooh, 240Z with a blower....sexeh! Welcome aboard!!! Davy
  8. Heh, you are building the car around the wheels--that's like something I would do Wheels cost more then the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Davy
  9. Excellent for a 'garage' job! Very clean, quality work. It's already a stunner---can't wait to see it put back together!! Davy
  10. I know a few people have Rhino liner or something similar (basically spray-on bedliner for pickups) that is platic/rubber and would make a great, tough, waterproof, sound dampening material. Plus, it comes in whatever color and you can chuck your floormats after that! 'Brown bread,' Dynamat, etc, have also been used. I happen to have gotten a good deal on Dynamat so I have to install that, but I also have some "roll-your-own" truck bed liner as well. Just some ideas HTH. Davy
  11. Yes, and the airdam is a "Scarab" airdam, but the side skirts look like MSA regulars. OMG, it's a Frankenstein of Z body parts! Davy
  12. This board has been largely self-moderated in the past (now a little distant), but it grew so large over the past few years that the percentage of trolls went up even faster. We nuke all who "cross the line" as they say and send them into hyperspace, but it really galls us to have to do that in the first place. I'd love it if the forum were still member-policed and self moderated---makes life much easier! Zcar.com is the model of what we don't want, so we just do the opposite of what they do... Also, about foul language...ever notice how it can bring down the 'class' and such of a site? It seems to attract more of the same and that drives away a lot of good people. Anyway, my $.02, but thanks for the compliment--the other admins and mderators are really the ones that deserve the credit though... Davy

    Uhhh...

Lowered, with some 17" Torque Thrusts and you'd be there! What possesses people to do over-the-top stupid things???? Davy
  14. Are you referring to an automobile wrecking yard or auto dismantler? If you want a good running used engine and tranny, I would contact http://www.gmsports.com/ and buy one from them. If you want new parts, then the US is filled up with many many GM dealers... Davy
  15. Increadible amount of metal work that went into that car...wow. I think you'll like the Chevy over the straight 6 tho... Davy
  16. Mike, your best off probably looking among the SCCA crowd of racers who like the 2nd Gen VWs. Davy
  17. So Brett, What have you noticed in terms of power increases...any? The Demon is better overall in terms of driveablility or also in power? (I don't mean to hijack the thread, I just want to see some more info )
  18. They're good for up to 50 hp in some cases! Sweet! Davy
  19. Man, for the money I'd say you were winning! I have collected at least $600 in V8 turbo parts, but I'm not even there yet!! The NA system first, then the turbo in due time (for me). If you can get more pics of this in your car, we'd love to see them!! Davy
  20. Sweet! Saves a lot of time and headache. Gotta love it when good things happen. Davy
  21. I wouldn't think twice about buying them. If you cannot for the life of you make these fit, sell them for more then you paid for them... Simple brackets can be fabbed to make most seats fit in the Z. BUY FIRST, FIGURE IT OUT LATER. Davy
