  1. Funny stuff, that . I love Fawlty Towers and have hardly laughed that hard at anything else...except some good Monty Python material. Davy
  2. Makes my heart race just watching him... Davy
  3. Please tell me they arrested the prick that stole the car--the tweaker you mentioned earlier in the thread last year? Davy
  4. Yep, that's me on the right--I knew my comment would draw at least one remark or pic Davy
  5. Aux, The place that removed the drip rails and smoothed everything for me in Oakland was VERY reasonable with their paint costs and friendly too. I don't have the name anymore, but I posted it in the body & paint forums about 2-3 years ago. If you do a search, at least one of the threads about drip rails has my info in there. If you can't find it, call me or email and I'll look it up. They painted Kevin's red Z (remember Leonard's friend?) and did a great job for a reasonable price as I recall. Davy
  6. Very good to know--thanks for posting the part numbers, which will make this so much easier! I have been thinking about a better way to do this modification, but this looks like it, thanks!! Davy
  7. Good, keep us updated on the progress. I find it fascinating to see what people do to procrastinate in getting work done. I hope you have better luck with him going forward. Davy
  8. I have never seen the video. I liked it. Then again, I like cars too. Davy
  9. I agree that the quality keeps improving with the cars---this is a very good example of that. Beautiful work Davy
  10. Dan, I'm wishing you a very happy birthday. Keep the shiny side up!!!!! Davy
  11. I totally missed this thread; sorry, Pete! Hope your birthday was a good one!!! You deserve the best, my friend! Davy
  12. Dang, I didn't think of it that way...but sure, I guess it works that way too
  13. Wow, looks like a ton of work went into your car! It's going to be fantastic looking in new paint and I'd love to see photos when you are finished. Davy
  14. Man, I see people like him wasting their youth for stupid things. I think he'll be a bit older when he finally gets out. His kids won't remember him well and will probably be better off without him as an influence. Wow, what a good way to lose everything you have. Davy
  15. The 240Z is a brick to the wind...I doubt this will hurt the aerodynamics much Besides, it's nothing that a little HP can't compensate for anyway Davy
  16. LOVE THAT COLOR!!!! Please post some photos of the car after you finish it. Davy
  17. That comment actually had me laughing. Good Spanish Car is looking really good, especially for a "garage job." I think after rubbing it out, you will love the car even more. Good job in tackling that yourself Davy
  18. Nothing wrong with suggesting other swaps. It's good to consider everything. I will tell you that Ron Tyler (or was it Paul Ruschman??--I think they are the same person sometimes) did a V8 swap on the cheap...and I mean REALLY cheap. His conversion was very well done, but he totally knows what he's doing and what he is capable of. However, let's not DEBATE what engine is better or faster, especially in the CHEVY ENGINE FORUM. Most of this is relative anyway. The Chevy engine swap is 1) well documented 2) relatively "easy" 3) has a manual written for it 4) has a relatively cheap cash outlay if you want two more cylinders (but speed still costs money) 5) and has the cheapest aftermarket parts available. The key is to just do and complete the swap without getting fancy. As soon as you get sidetracked and start buying "bling" and/or speed parts for a stock engine and/or tranny, you will find yourself delaying completion of your project, maybe never finishing, and possibly running out of funds. Plus, your wife will hate you. Davy
  19. Ditto on what Pyro says about the droning you want to avoid. The key here is to run a single (or in Pyro's example dual "resonators") just after the down pipes from the headers. This will eliminate the droning at speed. The Dynomax Superturbo is an excellent muffler or you can use a Magnaflow, but your car will be louder at idle and at speed. At acceleration, the noise will be much more noticable. My own suggestion is to go with Pyro said, but an option would be to use a single stainless steel Borla race muffler in place of the dual bullets he suggested. I personally think that dual exhaust systems are somewhat overrated if you can get away with a 3" single for your application. I don't have any pictures to show you, but my system is" block hugger headers, to Y-pipe into 3" pipe, to single ss Borla muffler, to a 3" Dynomax Superturbo out back. Search the forum and you'll find some extended threads on exhaust noise and others' personal opinions and set ups. Davy
  20. Ole and Sven were fishing on the Minnesota opener when Sven pulled out a cigar. Finding he had no matches, he asked Ole for a light. 'Ya, shure, I tink I haff a lighter,' he replied, and then reaching into his tackle box, he pulled out a Bic lighter 10 inches long. 'Yiminy Cricket!' exclaimed Sven, taking the huge Bic Lighter in his hands. 'Vere dit yew git dat monster??' 'Vell,' replied Ole, 'I got it from my Genie..' 'You haff a Genie?' Sven asked. 'Ya, shure. It's right here in my tackle box,' says Ole. 'Could I see him?' Ole opens his tackle box & sure enough, out pops the Genie. Addressing the genie, Sven says, 'Hey dere! I'm a good friend of your master. ? Vill you grant me vun vish?' 'Yes, I will,' says the Genie. So Sven asks the Genie for a million bucks. The Genie disappears back into the tackle box leaving Sven sitting there waiting for his million bucks. Shortly, the sky darkens and is filled with the sound of a million ducks....flying directly overhead. Over the roar of the million ducks Sven yells at Ole, 'Yumpin' Yimminy, I asked for a million bucks, not a million ducks!' Ole answers, 'Ya, I forgot to tell yew dat DA Genie is hart of hearing. Do yew really tink I asked for a 10-inch Bic?"
  21. Each Friday night after work, Bubba would fire up his outdoor grill and cook a venison steak. But, all of Bubba's neighbors were Catholic. And since it was Lent, they were forbidden from eating meat on Friday. The delicious aroma from the grilled venison steaks was causing such a problem for the Catholic faithful that they finally talked to their priest. The Priest came to visit Bubba, and suggested that he become a Catholic. After several classes and much study, Bubba attended Mass...and as the priest sprinkled holy water over him, he said, "You were born a Baptist, and raised a Baptist, but now you are a Catholic". Bubba's neighbors were greatly relieved, until Friday night arrived, and the wonderful aroma of grilled venison filled the neighborhood. The Priest was called immediately by the neighbors, and, as he rushed into Bubba's yard, clutching a rosary and prepared to scold him, he stopped and watched in amazement. There stood Bubba, clutching a small bottle of holy water which he carefully sprinkled over the grilling meat and chanted: "You wuz born a deer, you wuz raised a deer, but now you is a catfish".
  22. Nice looking Bimmer! I like the color a lot--reminds me of berries or something edible, really, or maybe I'm just hungry right now Hard to cut up a perfectly good car unless your name is BRAAP Davy
  23. I used to pull the emergency brake instead of brake check. Stupid thing to do. This is all when I was young, full of piss & vinegar. I tried to get people to hit me that were tailgaters...why? Why? It doesn't amount to a hill of beans and doesn't "win" me anything. I just learned to let them go around or I move over. I have too much to lose at this point in life, so it's not worth it now. Davy
  24. Best wishes on your birthday, Dan Have a great one! Davy
