  1. Alsil here used Hyundai parking lights for his car and they look really good too. Find a post of his in the Ford forum (may have to look a bit) and log on to his site. Davy
  2. Thanks much for the update. Hope you get the issues sorted out so you can finally enjoy the car. Davy
  3. Cool, thanks for that info, Jeromio. Davy
  4. Life just gets in the way sometimes. Duende has posted here before. Too bad it's going away. I just looked at my own situation: I have 3 cars now, and soon to be 4 cars with the new Z. I'm looking into getting the side yard cemented to park something on the side of the house. Yipes. Davy
  5. All great info from people who really know! The general rule of thumb you need to know is this: You can swap the same year of motor as your car or later (newer). You will need to have the smog systems swapped as well----GM only wrecking yards are great places to get LT1, etc. engines and transmissions. The advice on buying the JTR manual is good as it covers every aspect of the swap even though it applies to 1st gen Zs. You can easily sell the manual in the Buy/Sell forum when finished. Good luck! Davy
  6. Ron, the answer is "Yes!" By all means, you'll want to use this tool when you get the chance. I like it so much I may buy another one just to keep around! lol Davy
  7. Thanks for posting that link--very helpful BTW. Davy
  8. Randy, I have heard that a CRX has the same size motor (or very close to it) and it blows a heck of a lot more air. Also, Pete Paraska may have something on his site dealing with his upgrade. I think it was from a Lincoln or LTD and is so powerful that it can blow the car backward at speed. Seriously, the Honda upgrade is a bolt-in apparently, and is the easiest. I cannot provide any links, but perhaps someone else can??? Davy BTW--good to see you posting on the board again, my friend. See you at Blackhawk!
  9. Ditto. Mine too!! BTW, he cracks me up too Davy

    Pinion Snubber

Just to let you know, Jon, that I think you have done a nice job on those. I bet they work really well. Davy
  11. Auxilary and I used the tool on his car and a junkyard car---tool pulled it like a champ with no problems whatsoever. Even though I bring lube to the junkyard, we never even bother soaking the pin, because so far we have never needed to. My $.02 Davy
  12. Cheapest thing to do is to locate the materials and weld up a new one. I'm a bit suprised you broke yours--they are pretty well made. Dave Booth: you won't regret buying one. Zthang was selling them--look way back in the 'for sale' section. Davy
  13. That dog is so funny it hurts. Just brutal. Davy
  14. Lone, At least Dan had the cajones to swap 'em out lol Davy
  15. Excellent story!!!! Yep, it's either "Porsche" or "Jag." Whenever you flare a Z car, almost no one except the automotively astute can even recognize what it is. I'm just waiting... Davy
  16. BWAAHAAAHAAHAHAHAHAAAAA! Davy

    Photo of a 260z

Len is right; I had an 'early' 260Z and it looked exactly like a 240Z. I still want a 240Z... Davy
  18. DavyZ

    why?

...or you can be like me: sell the rusty turd and just keep hogging more and more parts until finally, when the dust clears, a Z car (or Frankenstein) comes up out of the dust Guys, it's Spring and the testosterone is rising--that must be it, or the weather... Davy
  19. I first heard the term when I was a kid, while reading BMX Plus Magazine. They had an issue with a dictionary of terms, all of it slang. To answer the question: yes, "sano" is a good compliment, and it is short for "sanitary" = clean. Davy
  20. Good Golly Miss Molly! That sounds mighty tasty indeed!!! I have been looking for a 400 SBC in the JY around here with no luck. I suppose I'm stuck with searching the classifieds unless I get a lucky break and score a 400 engine cheap. Davy
  21. You go buy a product called "Peeler" by Kleen Strip. It just bubbles the paint and then you blow it off with compressed air---no muss, no caustic fuss over the bare metal to wipe off either. Use the stuff as directed and you'll be happy; perfect for that cheap header paint. Davy
  22. Quantrex is right. In reading a book of Vizard's, he recommends not dropping below .15 inches of wall thickness. The only way to find out what your block currently has is to have it sonic checked by a reputable machine shop. Remember, it all depends on the block casting, not necessarily the amount it's been bored over. Davy
  23. KennyGZ, I know you tried to pad what you just said, and Dave is a prince in my opinion for NOT getting offended to what you just wrote, but it did get under my skin and I'm going to vent a bit...don't worry, this will hurt you more than it will me... Here are a few facts: 1) ANYONE is free to run a HybridZ sticker on their Z car, Chevy Impalla, or baby daughter's diaper if they want to. Shoot, I'm Zless at the moment and still wear my HybridZ clothing, plus I know more than many guys out there with 'tuner' cars, so I'll 'represent' this site regardless. Since when was this forum a club??? We have similar interests and a great forum, but when did we incorporate?? 2) Most of the guys in this forum are not made of money, and it takes years to build a car and make it better. I'm still in that process. Telling Dave or anyone else that their rides are less than beautiful is not constructive in the least. Why? We have eyes and can see the difference between what is show quality and what is not. 3) Having a POS Z car is better than NOT having a POS Z car, period. We all wish we had concours quality rides, but that is not reality, especially to us 'poor' folks like me. Now that I have gotten that off my chest, I would just like ask you once again to please pad your posts a bit more judiciously, ok? Gracias. Davy
  24. Not bad at all. I'd have a difficult time just typing.... Davy
