  1. Congrats, A.J. It'll look great once it's finished. Thanks for posting pictures of your progress. Davy
  2. Very cool I love 510s and used to own a sedan that I loved. Nice work so far on your wagon...can't wait to see the finished product!! Davy
  3. I have moved from the SF Bay Area to the Carolinas. The fiberglass door skin thread in the body and paint forum has Pete's (Rayven) contact information. He's the one that needs them for mocking up panels to fit the 280Z. Thanks for remembering me though Davy
  4. And that black paint job IS a MAACO paint job. I think Brett answered the question of "who painted it?" by saying it was "MAACO's finest crackhead." Davy
  5. David, the Sneaky Pete style of bottle should fit UNDER the car near the "tool/crap boxes" behind the seats. I think there is space under the car for that IIRC. Maybe not... Davy
  6. That's how you learn: when you are too poor or too cheap to buy new, you tinker with the old stuff to make it all work. "Ingenuity is the mother of invention," and the dead beat dad of tinkering isn't too far behind Good read! Davy
  7. Ya know, I understand this coming from CA to NC now. There seem to be very very few S30 chassis cars in these states. I understand why they were doing that. Nice... Davy
  8. Hey, the Q45 is also sideways too---must be a Datsun/Nissan thing... There's no hope Davy
  9. Very clean looking swap Kudos to your hard work on this thing. You got a steal on that LT1 motor---I paid more for my carbed '77 350 Camaro motor. Good for YOU! Davy
  10. Thanks for the update, Twin Turbo. Car is looking the business with the tires, wheels, and body work---wing looks good too. I suspect the wing may actually help aerodynamically, although I'm exactly the person to know that! Keep up the good work and let us know about some numbers when you get 'em Video is nice too Davy
  11. Tom, thanks for posting those photos. You have convinced me to use the Corvette bellhousing I have instead of the Camaro bellhousing. It may not be blowproof like the ones Pete has mentioned, but it will avoid the slant that I see there. The slant may not cause performance issues, but it looks a bit out of place (for me). Good luck on your swap. Davy
  12. BJ, I have EVERYTHING in storage right now and am still in the midst of moving. Sorry, I just can't help here. Good luck with your car in paint jail--what a great place to be! Wishing mine was that far along... Davy
  13. Valuation is vehicle appraising and that is not something that is easily done by most. Is this for insurance purposes or selling purposes? The Z is only worth what someone will pay for it. I think ebay and auction houses will bring you what the "market" thinks of the value for the car because the Z will sell to the highest bidder. If you can find some recent data of sales of Scarab cars as reference, it should give you an idea of what your car is worth. That said, other than the uniqueness of owning an actual Scarab, built by the company, there is not much collectable value (completely my opinion) since there are still a good number of z cars available, they still are relatively cheap, and the available engine options have gone through the roof. Dare I say that some of the daring conversions on this site now more than rival anything Scarab ever produced? That remains in the eye (and wallet) of the beholder. As said above, dsommer owns a very nice 240z Scarab and might lend some insight into what you are looking for. I think your car is clean, has most of the Scarab options, and appears very well maintained. My opinion isn't worth much *haha* so I look at your car a bit differently than a Scarab enthusiast, but I'd say your car is worth $9,000 to $15,000. That figure comes from nowhere, really. Email or PM dsommer. Davy
  14. I saw a Z years ago in CA whose plate read "ITPULLZ" or "ITPULZZ" and I thought that was very cool indeed. I don't want people to remember me easily, so I don't have a personalized plate. However, it's hard not to be noticed in a nice Z *sigh*. Davy
  15. GM, contact Rayven14 since he's the one producing them. He'll make you a set for sure and he does pretty good work from what I have seen. This is a quote from the page prior. You can email him, PM him, or contact him (Pete aka Rayven14) directly. Davy
  16. Wha? Disco Lemonade I guess? Dianabol or 1-Testosterone?
  17. Nice! It's going to be easier and less messy than I originally thought. I also have a Pro 5.0 shifter that I purchased in order to nix the sotck shifter. Although I have yet to mount the shifter, it looks like the cat's meow--a seriously nice piece but with instructions drawn up by a third grader Davy
  18. That's the same swap I'm doing and it will hopefully look as good as that. When you say you formed the Camaro boot to fit the tunnel, did you glue it, heat it, stick it, etc? I'm not quite to that point yet, so I'm asking the question. Good work BTW. Davy
  19. Here's another photo to support my viewpoint on this kit... Davy
  20. OR SOMETHING!?!? Fugly. The front looks great, but the scheme is lost in the rear end. It just doesn't make it... Davy
  21. Dynamite swap idea. I'd love to see this one done. Glad you found a cool motor to do it with and yes, *ahem* with boost. Nice. Davy
  22. Super clean looking Z. Paint & body look flawless. Davy
  23. A guy in high school had one with an RX7 motor in it. I never wanted to race my 510 against it... I think the cars are really cool. If you wanted to keep it "all Mazda" you could put a turbo RX7 motor in it. It'd be a fun little sleeper. Davy
  24. John, thanks for posting this one especially--I don't have this article in my library. I'm scared that you and I think the same---we collect Z articles from magazines! After I get all moved and settle down, I may scan in a butt-load of Z Car Magazine articles have from the past. I have the special V8Z issue too ...gotta buy a scanner first Davy
