Very intresting! Do you think my high fuel line will cause a vapor lock issue with the pump you are using? Do you ever have a vapor lock problem or never?

Wow thats sweet! I might just have to order some of those! Also out of curiosity how did you fuel it. My stock mechanical fuel pump hits the steering shaft since the block is too low. We are thinking of going with a 14psi pump that flows something like 140gph and then putting in a return regulator. 3/8" fuel and 5/16" return.

I am a bit concerned with the whole exit area of the exhaust. I am not sure if headers designed for the mustang will let out in the right area. The pipe might have to go a little forward compared to the Mustang outputs.

Here she is: Do they sell headers that will fit? Or based off these pictures do you guys think I need to obtain custom exhaust manifolds. it is particularly tight near the starter (which isn't installed).

In Hayward there is a JY road. They will pick them for you in about 5 minutes. The cost is $25 total, when I went any way. I can;t remember the name of JY road, believe it is winton, depot, or something similar. Look up the pick your part in hayward, it is near bye. -
My brother and I have laid down the fuel and brake lines and the motor is in! Now we are wondering how to configure the fuel system. This setup is to feed a Holley 4150 Double Pumper. We put a 5/16" fuel line and added a 3/16" return in case we needed it.We have decided against using a mechanical pump simply because we are afraid of vapor lock. The fuel line runs pretty close to the cylidner heads and has a rather high spot. Basically we were wondering a couple of things: -What pump would serve us well, it is a stock 5.0L HO (but we would like room to grow)? I was thinking a Holley Electrical, external 110gph 14psi pump. -How should we regulate it? Do we put a fuel pressure regulator right before the Carb? -How do we return vapors and excess pressure (so we are not just heating the fuel between the regulator and pump when it is not needed)? Can the fuel pressure regulator be used to return the excess? I have come to ntoice there are two types of regulators. Ones that return and ones that do not. The ones that do not return have 1 inlet and two outlets, the ones that do, have three outlets and one inlet. I don't understand how a non return regulator should have two outlets... One goes to the carb and the other goes where? Or are the two outlets used to power seperate carb bowls? Also when people say 6-8psi is the maximum the floats can block, do they mean 6-8psi per float bowl or the entire carb. If it is 6-8 psi per bowl does that mean a 14psi pump does not need regulation? You shouldn't cut the springs man... You are, as others said, probably hitting the bumpstops all the time, or even, riding on them. I would highly suggest putting springs of the correct height back in. You can't just slam an S30 to the ground, they aren't meant to be ridden like that. -
I am accutally hopefully going to find one today (yeah right, lol) but if I do i will jot down exactly what it takes. I did this two weeks ago, can't believe I didn't pay it more attention.

Auxilary (a member here) has a friend with a 302 swap. Contact him. The ford 5.0 stock block will split at 450-500hp. What you want is a 351 which is good for alot more, atleast from what I hear. Or you can go with an aftermarket 302.

This might be kind of off topic, but I am stumped. The 240z MC's had external proportioning (at the rear right before the T) right? The later cars, inlcuding the 280zx's that we source the MC's from happen to be internally proportioned... correct? So how does adding a proportioning valve on the rear brake line help the bias? I thought we wanted more to the rear then stock? Or is it that since the 1.75" front 4 pistons consume so much more then the rear 240sx's that the rears will lock up prematurely any way? Just trying to figure this one out, sorry for the hijack.

I don't remember all the tools used, but just wondering which JY you go to? I'll give your question my best shot though, I would bring 2 14mm wrenches, 14mm socket, 17mm, 19mm, breaker, a pair of vice grips/channel locks, and a (forget the name) adjustable head wrench. Bring a hard head hammer as well to help in the breaking process. Your also going to want wirecutters to get rid of the brake lines and such. Hope that helps. Also search, it has been discussed.

This idea may seem a little far fetched, but I think it would improve the HybridZ experience and help out those of us (especially me ) who might not know as much/have access to as much information about certain Z cars. What I am proposing is that HybridZ somehow hosts an index of car parts with pictures, descriptions, and all the useful bits about the items and the various years they were featured in. Any member should be able to submit parts to the site or add to a parts description/attributes. For instance if i were to search for say "Stub axle" then stub axles should show up, listed should be spline counts, bolt patterns, vehicle compatability, etc. It would be all up to us how detailed or undetailed to make it, but I think it could become a very useful tool. If I searched LSD there would be whatever LSD entries have been put into the system, what half shafts to use, what year cars they are featured in, what other cars gears can be swapped in, that sort of stuff. If I happened to know something more about that LSD I could then add it giving even more information. The difficult bit is I don't know how to acctually make it since I know nothing about the HybridZ site software. I know it is alot of work and obviously not exactly easy, but I believe it could be a real tool. If it is feasible it would be really nice to have. Just a random idea.... (feedback appreciated) EDIT: Just thought of this... Eventually we could even kick it up a notch by incorporating links to current classified ads as well as popular tech articals regarding the part. Just food for thought.

Would anyone happen to know where I might be able to find female to female couplings for 3/16" diameter metric brake line? I can't seem to find the stuff anywhere. If they do not exist, then can someone point me in the right direction for DIY metric brake line (mainly where to get the metric fittings)? Thanks

Yesterday in the JY I found a 280z with a R200 and thought it would be a sweet stub axle upgrade for my 240z. Unfortunately once the halfshafts were off I relized my biggest socket (15/16") wasn't going to cut it.... Does anyone happen to know what size socket is needed so I might go purchase it? It looked to be about 27-30mm across!! Also if it is that big of a socket do you think I will be able to break it in the Junkyard without a pipe? Can that big nut be reused, or is there a simple replacement, since it looked like the edges of the nut were bent onto flats. Lasty do I use the 240z spacers and bearings or do I go with the 280z versions? Sorry I do not have my service manual down here. I did search but got inconclusive results on most of this stuff. Thanks for the help!

Sorry, I couldn't find the answer to this. Does anyone know the correct ftlbs to torque the rear cover bolts down to on the 300zx turbo r200 LSD? I don't own the car, and for this reason don't have a haynes for it. Thanks!
