  3. How about just clean and reseat the connectors at the ECU. When it bogs it usually a fuel issue. If you have good fuel pressure then it's the ECU not getting info from the sensors and/or AFM. Therefore the ECU doesn't send signal to the injectors. GL
  4. I know who's car it is. I am doing the wiring for his boss's LS1 conversion.
  5. The clips already have the tape attached to them. They come in a whole strip. Let me know.
  6. IMO the toughest job is to unhook the trans from the engine and hook it back up afterward. This is much easier doing it outside the car. It is obvious that remove the engine by itself is much easier without the tranny attached to it.
  7. I have done the rust repair above the windshield a few years back. I used a pair of pliers to grip the end of the trim and slide it back and forth and eventually it came out. You might not get lucky. The best way to remove the chrome trims without bending them is to cut the clips. You will need to buy new ones anyway. I bought a set of these clips from MSA and I didn't use them. If you need them we can work out a deal so you can save a bit of money. I can return to MSA but I didn't have time. Plus they can only credit me for the clips and not giving me back my cash. Let me know. Vinh PS. I found the front grill and the windshield trims for you also. If you are still interest in them.
  8. You can remove the center cluster thru the glove box. Yes weekend would be best. Do you still have my number?
  9. you do not need to remove the dash to replace those gauges. Come over take some pictures of my projects and my Red/Black AE for me. Thanks V.
  10. Vinh,

I was going to mount the A/C unit Saturday, but My family came over and I ended up playing basketball. I managed to break a finger and I am limping. : ) I was reaching for the ball and my son was trying to smack it away. Instead he just smacked my finger backwards. :o So, yeah I know I have a lot to do. I called the guy who has my stuff and he said that he will be shipping it out this Friday. I would cross my fingers, BUT..... I think I will be a little happier when I actually test fit the LS1. I am shooting for this weekend. I still need to get some fuel hose and decide where I am going to mount the filter. I already have the radiator, and drive shaft and I have the shifter and fans from the camaro. I also have the convert x cable box for the speedo. I guess that I really need to just get it in gear. So, how is yours comming? do you have any pics on the update? Well , I had better let you go. Talk to you later.

  11. Hi Vinh,

It is great to hear from you. It sure seems like you are making a lot of progress. I showed my wife some of your videos and she really liked your laker pipes. : ) I am not sure how I am going to run mine, but right now I guess I should worry more about getting my stuff back. I contacted the consumer protection board in NY and they sent him a letter. I told him on Monday that I just wanted him to send my stuff back to me. Of course, he said " I will see what I can do." Which really means , what ever leave me alone. Any way, I bought the a/c lines, compressor and drier from John. I am going to mount it tomorrow. I am hoping to test fit the motor soon. Do you know if I need to do some clearencing on the tranny tunnel for the 4l60e? I cut part of the brace off on both sides, but do I need to bang on the tunnel? Well, I had better go. I will try to catch you again later.

    Jim

  12. Thank you very much for the info. Very helpful and I already bookmarked it.
  13. Finished with the redesign crossmember for my LS1. I had to put the engine back and try on the exhaust and steering shaft to make sure everything still fit. Everything is good. Some pictures of the new crossmember. I also fix the rockers and a few rust spots on the car. More pixs are on my web site. The engine will come out for the last time and then I can start prepping the frame for painting.
  14. Vinh,

Long time my friend, I hope all is well with you and your family.

  15. I just watched some fishing show on ESPN. Appearantly there are too many sharks in florida which the grey one reminds me off. There are some nice mods on these cars.
  16. Yasin, I gotto come out next year too. I don't think I can drive any of the Z to the show so I have to fly out just to meet people from the west coast. I would love to bring the Red/Black AE out for the show though. I've made a promise. Once I am done with my Cobra I will bring it out to the MSA show. Hopefully it will happen in a couple years and not 10 lol. Thanks for pictures. Vinh
  17. Hook up a fuel pressure gauge and check for the pressure when the problem occurs. Let me see I can find my logs for this problem on my web site. Here is it is from my old web site. "Complete the intercooler pipings. Got the "vacuum control valve" from Dustin and hook it up. Also got the T5 drive shaft from Dustin and installed it. Fill up all the fluids and attempt to start it up. Check sparks and it's Ok. Check fuel and it's pumps OK. Start it up and it runs for a few seconds and dies. After a few hours with no luck I hook up the fuel pressure gauge to check for pressure. The pressure was too low. Open up the fuel line before the fuel pump and blow air thru it. Now it has fuel pressure. Start it up and no good again. Lots of smoke .. running rich.. Replace AFM with a new one and it fires up .. YESSSSSSSs.. Let it runs and warm up and set the timing and adjust idle speed. Take it around the block and it seems like it is not running smooth at WOT. Hook up the A/F mixture meter and boost gauge. Look like it's running lean at a certain spot and bogged. Suspect a loose connection at the computer or bad fuel or something. I still have to think about this problem and how to attack it. 5/6/03 - Solved the running lean problem. It was the fuel sending unit inside the tank. There is a small filter at the end of the supply line going to the pump. This filter has build up a thin layer of film on it and limiting fuel going to the line. Also the line was half clogged. I clean both of them up and hook it back up and the car runs strong under boost." and this "Also found out that the car still running lean under boost. Found out that the computer plugs are not making good contact. Clean it real good and put some conductive grease to all the pins and looks like the problem is solved for a short time. I finally went to a junkyard and cut up some computer plugs from a 300ZX and splice them into my 280ZXT and it seems no more problems now." GL
  18. Nothing is impossible. I've seen people used the stock N/A header to turn it info a turbo header.
  19. Time for a little update on my Z's progress. I've been lazy lately since my vacation trip back to Vietnam. I kept seeing my friend (Tin) driving his Cobra so I decided to get off my lazy butt an get in the garage again. I got the undercoat and sound deathener removed. Fortunately there wasn't much rusts on the car. The rusts are at the overlapping joints of the floor pan and the firewall. I replaced the front rockers, battery tray area and build the mounting tabs for the engine crossmember for my LS1 this weekend. Here are the pictures to show off my fabrication skills. Enjoy http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2079260/7 BTW the 8th Cobra is sitting inside my garage now. It's been there since last summer.
