  1. Hey, I just remember that I have a Corvette rear end (not sure what year) that was fabbed and ready to bolt to a 240Z. It's been sitting inside my garage all this time. Come over to check it out.
  2. Nice job on the front and the hood duct but it think it will look much better with the hood duct move back a little more. That way it will stand out and won't get masked by the front treatment. I am interest to see how you mount the hood hinges. GL
  3. PA is not small. I am from South Philly. There are several Z owners in Philly and the surrounding areas that I know. Hopefully we can get some kinda Z club going in the future. I would love to host Z gathering once in awhile like Mikelly does every year but for the guys up North. I have a large garage and lifts too.
  4. Where in Philly to be exact? I have a couple LS1 swap Zs here and you can check them out. I am in South Philly btw PM me if you want to talk about your swap. I might have the place to do your swap.
  5. Get yourself a service manual. If you have fire and fuel then it has to be the timing. Remove your valve cover and put your #1 piston on TDC and check for the timing marks on the sprocket and the shiny chain link and the rotor in the distributor is pointing to #1 spark plug. That's how you check your timing. I had a car with this same symptoms before and when I check the timing chain some how is off by 1 chain link. GL
  6. I have a set removed and sitting inside my storage room. Shoot me a PM with a reasonable offer and they are yours. They came out of my 77 280Z.
  7. don't forget I used one of my EFILive license to program your PCM. This means if you need to reprogram it I can do it.
  8. Sorry to hi jack the thread. I am selling $235 a pair shipped within the US. I don't think you can find them cheaper any where. Please shoot me a PM if you are interest.
  9. I have several pairs left if anyone interest. They are the same one pictured in ArnZ's post. I got them from my last trip to Japan. V.
  10. I have several pairs for sale that I brought them back from Japan. $235 shipped. Let me know
  11. I have done the same thing with my ZX several years back. If you have all the parts to go manual then I suggest you use it and ditch the power steering system. Don't forget you will need the manual steering rack and the mating crossmember. The manual rack will not fit the crossmember for the power steering system. This would make the engine bay looks much cleaner and less cluttered. You need all the room you can get to run your IC pipings and the fan. Good luck
  12. I think your first concern should be whether the alternator will rub the steering shaft. If it clears the steering shaft then you can easily mount a another pulley on top to address the belt issue. I think you can still leave the alternator in that location like I had but you will have to raise the motor higher. I don't know where the motor sits with the JCI mounts. I have both LS1 swaps (C5 with custom mount and fbody with JCI mounts) here in my garage. I can do a comparision of the 2 and report back if that helps you. I've been slacking off lately and have not go to my garage for a few months now. I should get back to it the end of this month. What harness do you plan to use for your swap?
  13. Here is a picture of where I had mine originally and without using the bracket. I ended up installing a Honda alternator on the passenger side and to simplify the belt configuration I used an electric water pump. This helps clean up the front of the engine a lot.
  14. I will add mine. 1. 1998 C5 motor with no internal mods yet. My car is a 77 280Z BTW. I used the C5 harness and the C5 underhood fuse block. I used the 99 and up PCM and had to repin the PCM connectors. 2. Auto trans from Fbody with C5 oil pan and pick up tube. 3. Made my own mount and using the C5 biscuit engine mounts. Right now the engine mount is just a 1x3 cross bar that sit on the frame rails. I will find ways to link it to the crossmember later. 4. I used the original C5 headers and modified them to fit, Honda alternator, C5 air intake duct route over the radiator, Electric water pump, EFI live to program the PCM .. etc... There are plenty of modifications on this engine swap and they are all documented on my homepage. 5. I don't remember when I started the swap but I completed the motor swap in August 2006. 6. Irrelevant to the motor swap. I've also done an LS1 swap for a friend of mine on his 77 280Z. For this swap I used the JCI mounts and the stock wiring harness. Pictures are on my web site also.
  15. That bracket is for an Fbody accessories. You have a C5 motor and accessories so the damper is much closer to the block. You might run into more problems if you leave the alternator there with the alternator move back to align the pulley. This might all depends on how low the motor sits with the JCI mounts. I used the C5 motor but I've made my own mounts and my motor is sitting very low and all the way back. With the alternator in that location the alternator will sit on the steering shaft. You might get lucky with the JCI mounts since they set the motor higher and forward than my setup. For reference, my oil pan is only a few inches from the ground and my damper is 1/2" away from the rack. Please document your swap since you are doing something I believe is different then the rest of us. GL Vinh PS. On my friend's Fbody swap using JCI mounts, I remember the alternator is sitting very close to the steering shaft. So if you move it back some it might rub. Double check it before you modify that bracket.
  16. Yasin, Thanks for the compliments bro. I wished I didn't throw out a couple of the N/A motors. However I still have an N/A harness in storage. If I remember correctly this body kit used to sell for $3200. The Kaminari 3 pieces spoiler was $550 plus the rims. I think it worth it for me to invest some time and money into it. The main problem going to be rusts. I am going to check it out this weekend. It's might be a good time to hook up with Clive for some lunch and check out all the Zcars he'd been buying. Vinh
  17. I've seen that car for sale a long time ago and they want a lot of money for it. For $1700 I will take a look at it. I am sure I can get it running in a weekend or 2. This would be a perfect car to take the wife and 2 kids out around town.
  18. Here is mine: http://members.cardomain.com/valerie280
  19. Can someone give me info for this junk yard? I have friends in SC and I like to get some parts off this car. Please shoot me an email with info for the junk yard. Greatly appreciated. If anyone from SC would like to help me get the parts I would appreciated very much also. vinh
  20. The smaller one (short pipes) will fit the Z and ZX and it has the T4 flange. I am not sure about the fitment for the one with the longer pipes. I am looking to get $550 each plus shipping.
  21. The pictures are here http://album.hybridz.org/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=7949
  22. I have 2 more turbo headers from Japan for sale. If you are seriously want one then contact me and I can send some pictures.
  23. The first picture is the steam line. You need to hook this up to the radiator hose somehow. Contact JTR they sell a T fitting with the nipple for this steam line. The rest of the lines are vacuum lines that deals with the evaporation system. You can remove all these lines and plug the one end where it connects to.
  24. Here is my latest addition: black/gold AE http://www.cardomain.com/ride/721840/5
