Hey guys, I have my 240z stripped all the way down and working on fixing some body issues before rebuild. I have replaced the roof skin as I had an aftermarket sunroof and wanted a slicktop. I'm wondering if I need to replace the entire section of the rear bumper/valance that goes all the way up to the hatch or just cut and patch the damaged portion. I don't have any experience with body work so not sure what the best approach would be. There is a very small ripple in the floor of the hatch and the very end of the frame rail has a little wow in it. Also looks like the right taillight frame is slightly bent. See pics. Thanks in advance! Cheers!

What to do with ugly body kit bumper-muffler-hole
supernova_6969 posted a topic in Body Kits & Paint
Hi! My car came with a body kit that's not half bad, but the kit has got to have the ugliest muffler-hole (what's a proper name for this?) ever made (and muffler tip too but that i know how to fix)... I need suggestions on how i can fix this both on a "what would look good" level, but also on a "how to fabricate it" (basic ideas, not detailed instructions". I'm thinking is a proper straight muffler tip, not some ugly limp-d*** look for starters, but i'm stuck for the bumper. I thought maybe a black plastic cover with a smaller half circle hugging the muffler tip, but it'd be way too big an insert, i think it would look funny.... Ideas, anyone? Picts if you've seen people doing nice things, if you have them.. Thanks!!! Seb -

Looking for a damaged skinny bumper. This gives you an opportunity to get rid of your dented up bumper that you will never fix. You must be local, socal 92831. I'll pick it up.

I learned a few tricks when installing my bumpers. ( as requested by California Highway Patrol) I bought some used ones and the rear must have been in a slight accident because the bolt flanges were bent and did not align with the body holes. Tip #1 Hammering then prying the side flanges on the rear bumper back into shape does not work we'll. cut a piece of wood about 1.5" x 1.5" and jam it under the flange. Stand it on its end the hammer it down. Works great. Tip #2 To attach the rear bumper, fasten the straight part to the body first, then attach the side flanges to the body next, then screw the sides to the straight part. Reason - if there is any irregularities, the holes will not align if you try to install the whole thing at once. Tip #3 Use some 1/2" (inside hole dimension) rubber bearings between the body and side flanges of the rear bumper. Gives good spacing.

Would love to find the rubber bumper ends for all four corners of the bumpers. These are crazy hard to find!

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum (probably fairly obvious), but I do have an eBay account and am a member of a couple car groups on Facebook from my area. My eBay feedback is 100% positive and I've made purchases ranging from $10 to $750. I will gladly provide references upon request and do whatever I can to make the transaction more comfortable for you. I have a '76 280z, and I'm looking to get some parts to upgrade it asthetically. Here's what I'm looking for: - Air dam (280 style/no turn signal holes) - 240/early 260 bumpers - Adapter brackets for 240 bumpers on a 280 And they're not high on my priority list but if you have hatch window louvers or a rear spoiler I might be interested in those if they price is right. I'm also hoping to upgrade my exhaust system with headers and a new exhaust system, so the same thing applies for that. You can PM me here and/or email me at hpotency@hotmail.com. - Brandon
