Inspired by the Head cooling on cylinder #5 thread (http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/59029-head-cooling-on-cylinder-5-solutions/), I decided to make my own diagrams of the cooling system for US Z/ZX L6 engines. I had to exaggerate and diminish a few proportions to maintain decent flow while using a flat layout. These charts are as accurate as far as my knowledge and research have shown so far. I will gladly accept any corrections and update accordingly. The year cutoffs are approximate and do not reflect all of the small month-to-month changes of course. On the ZX diagrams, some cars got the throttle body heaters while others didn't. I left them in both diagrams just to cover all the bases. I did spend a fair bit of time on these, so if they do happen to find their way elsewhere on the web, make sure at the very least to cite where they came from. Red = oil passages Blue = water passages and flow direction Yellow = direction of water flow in flexible hoses 1970-1974 240Z / 260Z 1975-1978 280Z 1979-1980 280ZX 1981-1983 280ZX

Hello, Been looking for years and I finally came into possession of a motor-less 260z that i want to swap a non-turbo 2jz into. I've swapped an engine before but it was the same type of motor (blown 3s-gte swapped for one I built-up in my 91 mr2). So I'm trying to compile a to-do/to-find list for what I need for the swap, so far this is what I have and want to use: Have: -A buddy sold me a rear-sump sc300 2jzge and I was able to get a AR5 transmission for cheap as well Planned: -ApexEngineered front crossmember and JZ mounts -1jz bellhousing (for the ar5) -SN95 Mustang gas tank + fuel pump -JDM 2jz ecu for now (haltech or megasquirt later) -Better wiring harness later in life -JZ clutch fan -3 core radiator Unknown: -Will the 260z master cylinder need to be used? Or would I need another manufacture? -Do I need to run new fuel lines from the tank? I know I'm missing some things and was hoping that someone with more experience can shed some light as to what else I need.

This is a rerelease of RTz's coil bracket under his permission. Since he is not producing them anymore and zccjdm is gone I would like to bring these back to the community. Please read this post in its entirety before ordering. If there is anything unclear, please ask. . . . . . . . . . . Block mounting points... Made from 3/16" 6061 Aluminum. Mount Price: $99 shipped anywhere in the US. If outside the US, PM for pricing. 1. Price does not include coils. 2. Mount will require rerouting heater hose. 3. The mounts come with a light DA sanded finish as shown in photo 2. They are ready for paint, or polishes with minimal effort. 4. Included hardware... stand-offs and S.S. bolts for mounting to the block. All extra hardware not included. 5. Coil Part Number: 12558693, or 2000 Chev. Suburban 5.3L 6. Connector Part Number: 12582189 (connectors only come in batches of 4, as a sub-harness) 7. Coils known to work with Wolf3D, Haltech, Motec, J&S, and Megasquirt. It's up to you to know if and how they will work with your specific EMS. Coil Schematic... Pin A... can be grounded to the block, but my recommendation is the head. Pin B... needs to be grounded at the same location as the ECU. Pin C... to ignition channel. Pin D... provide a good 12 volt power source (with key 'on'). Begin with 3.5ms dwell. Test and tune for best ignition performance. For ordering send a PM or post here. Thank you everyone.

I didn't want to detract from Derek's massive thread but I was curious if there was any information around on this video: http://tominis.info/watch/hDCfZUIMom8/dohc-twin-cam-l28-datsun-z-car.html Seems he mated 3 different KA24DE heads to make this happen. Video is marked for 8 years ago, so I'm wondering if the guy was on here before or if anyone knows any other info on this thing. Looks interesting to say the least, but I haven't found anything else on it.

Scoping the interwebs for some information on my new Suzuki F6A Turbo, I ran across a neat replacement distributor which looks head and shoulders above the conventional Mallory Replacement. It's programmable if you want it to be... There's a bunch of YouTube Videos showing it on FairladyZ's and etc... Some nice video showing the old Hitachi Distributor it replaced, and if you understand Japanese, probably some nice technical discussion as well. Sourced from The Netherlands, check it out, jump around the website they have distributors for most anything out there. Flying Magnet by the look of it. If someone NEEDS to keep the vintage distributor look, IMO this is loads better than a Unilite! http://www.123ignition.nl/id/50.html Looks like Paradise Parts is the US Distributor...
