Hi, I recently purchased my dream car, a late 1971 Series 2 Datsun 240z. There are many pieces missing and one of which happens to be the entire rear drum systems. I have sourced all of the new parts I need to put drums back on the car except for the most crucial piece: The Backing Plate. This part seems to be classified as "Unobtainium" for some odd reason along with some other parts. Is there anyone who happens to know a source for the backing plates or happen to be willing to sell an extra pair for a reasonable price? Thank you! -
Hey guys, I’m working on a blow through set up on my L3.0 flat top engine. I’ll be running a P90 head all stock with light blending and port clean up. Stock turbo exhaust manifold, t3/to4e .50 trim Garrett turbo. Haven’t picked the FMIC yet or piping. I know I need the oil pan and oil lines. my question is this, I’ll be using Atomic EFI (2) and a Clifford manifold. I’d like to use MSD 6al along with it. The TBI atomic has a timing control feature id like to use. I was wondering if I could use my NA dizzy and just lock the timing. Also if I can do this, how do I set it up to control timing? I’ve searched all over and can’t find to much on it and I’m in WV. There aren’t any Z guys around me. (From Florida originally) the reason I really want to control the timing is because I have a flat top engine. I don’t want to blow the dang thing up if I decide to run 15+ psi. any help on running this kind of set up would be awesome. Parts list etc? 😁🇺🇸 Thanks guys!

Hello All, my buddy and I are starting a new project car 1971 240z / needs all parts but the body and engine. I used to get the black dragon catalogs however they seem to be out of business. Does anyone know of a good place to get parts for (brakes / engine surrounding parts / gas tank / interior / exterior). I've checked: Zcarsource & Zautodepot so far. Is there a good Pick-and-Pull? We are located in the San Jose, CA area. Any tips would be very helpful. Thank you,

Hi everyone, I am interested in getting the rear body shell of a 240z off Craigslist/ Ebay or similar (preferably from the west coast) but it will need to be shipped from (insert town here) to LA to a shipping agent who can send it to New Zealand. My question is - does anyone know/ has used any transport firms or people that can ship the larger body frames/ panels, and can pick up from areas that are off the interstate. Thanks for your time. p.s. Im after everything body-wise from the spare tire well back (excluding suspension and driveline) so if you have or know of a body shell that can be parted out - prefer a wreck rather than take from one that could get back on the road - please drop me an email.

Every year my father and I go to this massive swap meet held at Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte North Carolina. Let me be the first to say that this place is RIDICULOUS. Any fancy could be tickled there as the entire track is covered in cars and a large majority of the infield too. Then any spot that isn't occupied by a car are venders selling God only knows what. I mean I've seen it all from Lamborghini parts to props from airplanes. I can't necessarily guarantee a large turnout for Z cars but I am almost positive there should be a few there. I'm looking for the flat metal plate that bolts to the distributor and the aluminum spacer. I think thats the best way to describe it. I'm attaching a picture. I live in the Tulsa, OK area. If you are close I'll come pick it up. Chris

Hello, recently i just recently purchased a used set of weber 40 dcoe. But basically i am missing a few parts such as the three eye joints that screw on to the manifold, and one butterfly and throttle shaft. What had happened was i bought the set of webers that had the three pieces of linkage missing so i new i was going to need those. But me being an idiot i was disassembling the first carb without penetrating fluid so i stripped the heads of the screws that hold the butterfly and the throttle shaft in place and i had to drill out the holes. But the throttle shaft needed to be replaced anyways since one of the ends threads were stripped. So basically i need one throttle shaft, one butterfly, and three of the eye joints that screw in to the manifold. The carbs seem to be fairly old italian weber Dcoe 18 No. 9E ,with a cannon manifold. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I thought I'd drop this in Non Tech rather than the Misc Tech forum since it's not actually Z related. I know some of you guys here are pretty clued up on tech sources and some even work in shops and repair places that may well have the catalogues on hand so I thought it might be worth a try asking on here. One of my friends here in China works for a parts supply company in Chongqing and needs the steering and suspension calalogues for TRW and Delphi, but can't find them. I did some Googling as well and she now has the 555 catalogue and a few others, but still looking for the TRW and Delphi ones. Anyone here know where to get the catalogues? Have already tried Emailing TRW and Delphi direct with no reply. Her company is a parts wholesale supply import/export one, and is looking to expand from supplying chinese parts to more import parts with the rapid increase of foreign built or designed cars now on the roads in China, which means they need to know what parts there are from which manufacturors.Hence wanting the catalogues, Tracy has been assigned the task of collecting them.
