rags
Is anyone up for a billet diff cover? I'm going to have one made since it seems the stockers, after 40+ years, are not up to the amount of torque we are putting through them. Arif
Will this fit the z31 shiro diff? If so, depending on price I'm interested.
rossman
I'd be interested depending on price. I assume you are talking about a cover that fits a z31 LSD with the additional oil reservoir and cooling fins.
rags
yes, extended diff cover with extra capacity. Joe

rags
Besides the obvious bling, the idea behind the billet cover is additional strength, additional capacity and cooling. I'll let everyone know an approximate cost once the billet block has been purchased. Joe
socorob
Will these fit the early q45 r200 that has the 6 bolt flanges?
rags
They will fit both the short and long R200 diff.
G-E
This isn't quite so simple... the Q45 and R32 diffs have a different style "large" housing, and I believe there's some minor bolt hole variation among the others?
rags
I have swapped covers on a Q45 with an R200 that came out of a Z. Can you tell me what you are referring to? The only thing I have ever seen different is the provisions for the speed sensors on the Q diff. Obvoiusly, since this is a Z forum, the covers won't have those. Arif
Rags, what's the time frame on getting these made?
rags
Whoa, I just got the price for this. $600. I'm still going to have mine made. If you still want to do it let me know and I will put you in touch directly with the company making it for me.
LanceVance
Priced around $350 with additional bosses for a cooler, temp sensor and an option for R180 stud spacing (to utilize the 240z mustache bar) would sell like hotcakes... $600 is pretty high for what is notoriously a frugal crowd... Perhaps the Z33/Z34 market might be more amicable to that figure? Just my .2, I'd love to see these get made, though I don't need one myself. Kris.Is.Awesome
I can fix that!!!
Arif
I'm not sure if anyone has tried this on a s30 but here's a possibly cheaper: http://z31performance.com/showthread.php?15306-How-to-install-Z32-Finned-Cover-onto-Z31-Diff-V2Diff-Mount Obviously you'll need to either modify your existing moustache bar or purchase an aftermarket unit. I think the reason there isn't one already available is because it can't be done for that price. The problem is the chunk of aluminum needed to make the billet cover costs $350 by itself. Adding bosses and or different stud spacing is not a big deal and I'm sure can be done without additional cost. Joe
