RB26powered74zcar
I wonder if this unit would fit our R200 cases? The price is right..... Have a look HERE
datsunlover
Hmm.. maybe? Anyone know what the rear dif size is in the Exteras?
RedZ85
even if it did, did you read the info about it? Its designed for offroading and rock crawling. Not really gonna be doing that in a Z. The breakaway torque is probably all wrong for street use. The unit is what...$450? why not give Precision Gear a call and order there Power Brute LSD unit designed for the 12mm bolt R200's for $150 more that is designed to do what you want and theres no question of fitment? http://www.precisiongear.com/powerbrute.htm Model #: LOM59-
Guest MCTomTom
Go to http://phantomgrip.com they have a very reliable, yet cheap assembly, they are also on ebay for about $280.00.

Now wether it fits an R200 or not is another question.

JMortensen
I think all of this stuff has been discussed before. IIRC the snap ring grooves inside the carrier are in the wrong spot for the front diff LSD. I seem to remember that it was possible to recut the grooves on the stubs that stick into the diff to locate the circlips correctly. This was only a few months ago, might try a little digging, maybe search for cal-mini or something like that. I want to say it was zcarnut that had the answers on that one. Again, all fuzzy memories at this point.

The Frontiers and D21's used an R200A. A friend was looking at this too. Nissan Motorsports lists a different LSD carrier for the Z R200 than for the truck R200a's. Don't know the differences though. RB26powered74zcar
I was just simply throwing this possibility I ran across out here for discussion.... I have two extra R200 LSD's, and a R230 TT dif, so I'm not looking to buy one of these above units, just trying to help out those who may be looking. If it has been ran to the ground already in a prior thread, SORRY !!
BillZ260
let's keep this going, if anyone has the info.
JMortensen
From http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=97370 The Cal-Mini unit is for the front of an Xterra. I contemplated using this diff, but it will require machine work for the snap rings that hold the stubs in. The Xterra stubs are held in differently than the RWD R200s. Nissan switched to 12mm ring gear bolts around 84. I have an 85 3.54 R200 from a 300ZXT in my 240 with the Precision Gear LSD I purchased from Reider Racing. RB26powered74zcar
Wanna sell one of the R200's once I get the R230 set up and installed, I just may sell off the R200's. But this will be way down the road, as my project may take longer than I expected...
Mike C
I looked into this a couple of years ago. I had lined up a freebie Xterra front open diff, but it fell through. Since I got my Precision Gear, no reason to follow through. But if a fellow was serious, the best thing to do would be to score an open diff from the Xterra and put some numbers to the two.
