Lewis Maudlin
Does anyone know of a source for strut bars other than MSA? I need a set for my Z. I think almost any set will work since I have an SR20DET.

Lunar240z
sr240z, i saw a pic of one of the vildini cars, and the strut bar doubled as a harness bar, is that the same bar you guys all use?
SR240Z
yea we just welded brackets for the harnesses to go through on the strut bar

SR240Z
as if the stock lap belts are very safe... because thats what our 240 had before we put in bucket seats and harnesses
Cal Poly Zmanaustin
as if the stock lap belts are very safe... because thats what our 240 had before we put in bucket seats and harnesses I agree. Since when is adding safety equipment into a 30+ year old vehicle a bad thing?
Nismo280zEd
I think he was more implying that improper installation of safety equipment can be more dangerous than the stock lap belts. Harnesses can be deadly if not installed properly, but that goes for most things on a car.
cygnusx1
If the roof caves in, the harness will keep you from diving out of the way. Not good.
JMortensen
If you guys are serious about diving out of the way when rolling over, you can forget it. Not going to happen. I was in a pretty good rollover (went over probably 5 or 6 times) and the shoulder belt slipped off my shoulder and instead of giving me extra room to lean over, but instead I slid that much closer to the roof and smacked my head in the corner between the door frame and the roof really good a couple times. Centrifugal force when you're right side up and your own weight when you're upside down is going to keep you from being able to avoid the roof. A 4 point would have saved me a concussion that time.
