bschiltz
I agree, it's a beautiful feat of engineering. I wouldn't mind having one just to put in the living room to look at
redruM_0381
Looks like a sidevalve briggs motor that somebody made a diy OHC setup for.
m4xwellmurd3r
nope, it's completely one off. here's a couple hints it's a prototype the name of the cycle has something in common with the name of our cars.

stony
I've realized that guessing my avatar pic might be damn near impossible, but I hold out hope. What I do offer is a much more impressive automotive landmark. I'll even throw in a sound clip! http://album.hybridz.org/data/500/Mystery_Engine_Sound.asf Just had to dig this up.... this motor sounds freakin crazy!!! Gollum
That valve cover makes me think Mercedes M100 or M117, but I don't think mercedes ever had an intake manifold like that.
Gollum
That was too easy. Being able to see the oil holes made me realize it's a 9 cylinder. Googled up 9 cylinder engine and found thishttp://www.atomracing.se/6M.html Not sure of the engines exact name, but it's a CRAZY freaking W-9 Try this one It reminds me of the early prototypes of the air engine, which now look like this:
Sven
Woldson, that's a Mercedes 300SEL 6.3 liter.

Shift
I have a few more odd engines in the files that I'll post later.. A chevy v8 with an unconventionally large supercharger setup, with reverse flow heads? IDK
Chewievette
A chevy v8 with an unconventionally large supercharger setup, with reverse flow heads? IDK Close! I'll give it to you since its kindof a trick question. Its an Olds V8 that has been converted to reverse flow. The theory is that the supercharger will push the air in through the small exhaust valve then flow easily out of the larger intake valve.
