gogriz91
Sure I want one, but this person really wanted one. I guess I'm back to square one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3181%26fvi%3D1
G.I.jonas
??????????????????????????? A:what is the point in an extra heavy valve cover? B:Who the hell pays 2k for a valve cover? I really wonder if there is hope for humanity sometimes
jknc90
That's more than I paid for both of my 240's combined! It would be really cool to have this (would go pretty nicely with my BSR intake), but for over $2000??? I think I'll stick with having mine powder coated haha
gogriz91
It's economics, it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I was willing to pay alot, I may just give up and get a Kakimoto...guess I need the stroker piece to go along with it though.
TheNeedForZ
not just a single person, apparently several people really want it.
HizAndHerz
Maybe someone should cash in and make some Bob Sharp replica valve covers
cygnusx1
Prior to me owning it, my Z was serviced exclusively by Bob Sharps dealership. The owners manual is in a Bob Sharp plastic sleeve. My car must be worth less then the plastic sleeve.
Administrators RTz Posted May 7, 2007 Administrators Share Posted May 7, 2007 WOW!... I guess I'm going to have to fleabay my original BSR intake manifold (Holley 4-barrel).
Tombarace14
For that kinda money probly cast or machine your own. Some people will pay anything to have that one thing to complete they're car. As for me I'll wait til I hit the lotto for that nonsense.
proxlamus©
OMG this is insane. maybe he is makn a mold and casting them?!
SHADY280
im maikng a bsr car, but there is absoutly no need for that kind of frivilous spending. i should really make them, or something, prolly could pay off the whole car.
Ledphoot
sounds like a good candidate for some composite copies....yikes!!!
Daeron
seriously.. it would cost less than that to have a machine shop weld some aluminum onto a stock nissan valve cover, and just machine the words into it... Anyone ever read a book by Philip K Dick called The Man In The High Castle? That item there has "historicity"
Derek
I think I'll stop working on my manifold and start making a pattern for a valve cover!!! Derek
slownrusty
I'm going to watch this one....! I'm stumped. Yasin
Ledphoot
I bet the seller even had a heart attack $2031 !!!!
naviathan
I checked the winning bidders past purchases and he seems to be a collector of things Datsun, especially Z. And he obviously makes much much much more money than I do.
gogriz91
These things were $120 new out of the BSR catalog who knows how long ago. You probably could make a profit if you were able to recast them and sell them for $300-$500 apiece depending on how many you made.
Administrators RTz Posted May 7, 2007 Administrators Share Posted May 7, 2007 Maybe I'm missing the point, but I'm thinking any copy would be worth little more than a nice OE cover.
Sparks280zt
A car sold on ebay not long ago with a BSR valve cover for like 2k. Should have bought it and parted it out!
