Who Daily Drives their s30

Recommended Posts

I DD my 260z everywhere here in the bay area....just enjoyed a nice drive on Skyline today, wish for you hybridz people to get to drive this spectacular road if your here.

These cars are extremely reliable if maintained, almost 200k and runs like a champ!

Send me a PM sometime and let's cruise.. I live in Belmont.

I used to DD my 240z but hated it. I came from a Z32 (which got hit and totaled by an unlicensed driver) to my S30 and just couldn't stand the lack of modern comforts and driveability. Fun weekend car but not the DD for me. I hated it so much that I've now resorted to bringing my 1991 Ford Escort GT back to DD duty until I get my SUV tow vehicle/DD.

I'm not seeing a lot of "hybird" dd's here. Lots of modified 6's, plenty of turbos, but not a lot of v8's.

My 350/T-56 '72 sees almost weekly duty, and is the full time dd when my little Civic needs some love. With the addition of a Vintage Air a/c, it has become a wonderful driver's car. Not very impressive mileage (around 20 mixed city/country), but it manages to raise the spirits, blood pressure, and testosterone level nicely. Coilovers, a little higher ride height, and some softer springs will soon improve her personality - maybe I'll be able to get my girl into it once in a while.

I daily drive my Z - do about 200km a week. Since i tweeked the suspension and got new wheels its been much more fun to drive. No issues apart from fumes and bad gas mileage. Looking at buying a DD soon but it will probably be a Datsun 1200 or 240K - what can i say im a sucker for punishment.

My Z Has been DD by me and before me my dad for almost 5 years in the 7 we've had it. She's given us alternator issues, brake issues, charging problems, you name it but everything on her is solid as a rock. The Speedo reads ~88k i don't know if thats hundred thousand or less but she runs as good if not better than my 03 Zx2. She's Got a hwy crusing speed of 90mph @4k rpm, and i put between 100-120 miles on her a day (5-days outta the week) Besides beatin all my little supra friends senseless! I've been on this latest routine sense January and i've only been broke down 3 times MAYBE, one when i needed tires, one for the u-joints, one time for wiring issue, but otherwise she's more reliable than my dad's 2000 Dodge Neon, more power than my 87 Z31 and as good mileage as my Zx2, how can you beat that? Sure she needs a lil TLC now and than, sure she like all Z's are homicidal crazy bitch cars but God i love ma lil Lady and i'd take her over my Zx2 any day! Its gonna be hell when i end up rebuilding the engz and tranz (WHAT WILL I DO!!!) But it'll be so worth it! Very few cars i know of can possess the type of Character, power, sex appeal, and fenesse all in one package. Maybe i've already burned up the receptors in my brain but i don't smell gas at all in my Z when i drive it. Got the Exhaust welded up good new wires and coil and a tune up and bye bye Gas Fumes! Now i just need a Shift boot so i don't have to see the road from INSIDE my car lol

My 78 turbo swap is on the road every day of the week with the a/c pumping out ice cold air and the blow off valve adding notes to the turbo music.

Hopefully soon i'll be able to sell off all my turbo stuff and get myself an lsx motor to put in the car...

I love HWY 35! That's where I'd go on every drive when my Z was on the road, with my buddy on his GSXR 750.

We'd go 280>Black Mtn Rd.>35>92>35 into the mountains>84>Canada>280. We did a bunch of variations but they always involve 35. Love that Road. I'll be doing runs there and to Mt. Hamilton and Mines Road when the resto is done.
