If you weren't going to modify a Z car, what car would you choose to hybridize and modify? Do you guys have other projects that aren't datsuns? Just looking for some ideas for a non datsun project.

I've been looking at the following for my next project/driver:

Audi Coupe Quattro:

BMW 2002:

Nissan S14:

VW MK2 GTI(already have a couple of these):

MG MGB-GT:

Lexus SC300:

E30 325 coupe with 2JZ :)

Regards,

Me and the old man and my brother have a few projects on the go:

1) 260 - l28et, T3/T04e, MSnS ...

2) 2002 lightning dressed up as a 1960 gmc longbox

3) 1934 chev p/u - 350, dakota frame, independant suspension from a thunderbird. Still in the early stages.

4) 1967 Merc Cougar - 351W, suspension and disk brakes all around, not much of a hybrid, but a big project none the less.

5) 1975 MGB - mostly stock with plans for either an SR or KA swap.

I am the owner of a 1969 Datsun 1600 Roadster with a JDM Toyota RG18 2 liter twin cam motor and 5 speed. I got if from someone here (A.G. Olphart). It is really slick, pretty fast (160HP) and a blast to drive.

I also have an MG that I plan to put a GM 3.4 V6/T5 into. There is a kit for that, much like the Z/SBC here. http://www.classicconversionseng.com/

What I don't have, but I would really like.

E30 wagon with 3.6 M5 engine and a turbo on top of things.

Opel Manta, a bit like this one:http://www.hilmersson-racing.com/start.asp?show=ea

MK1 Golf/Rabbit with 1.8T & AWD

1971-73 Celica with 3SGTE and Miata IRS/sub-frame/disc brakes.

1971 Datsun Skyline with RB24 N/A and ITB's

One of these: http://www.dragonmotorcars.com/

An Attack kit car.

Or, a Ferrari 308 GTS with SBC...

I have a Willys Jeep with plans to swap in a Chevy 350, and maybe swap in some axles as well. Haven't researched it so I don't know if it's necessary.

I'd also like to swap in the V8 from the B6 S4 into my B5 A4 as well. Don't know if I can, but I'd like to try.

FWIW, My dad swapped a Detroit diesel into his '67 GMC truck. None of these are terribly extreme though, at least by my standards.
