Guest Koyorad Posted May 23, 2008 Share Posted May 23, 2008 As I recall from a friend that has an '82ZXT, the outlet for the radiator, as well as the outlet for the Griffin all aluminum radiator interfered with the alternatior. He wound up with the Griffin, but cut off the outlet and took out a "V" slice from it and welded it back on to clear the alternator. If you are truly looking for a universal fit, you might look into this. Personally, I like the idea/engineering behind the MSA radiator as far as two cores that have elongated tubes... These are the kind of headaches I want to eliminate with our new radiator design. Ours will be a direct bolt-on fit directly out of the box. We have a lot of work to do to make sure it does that! If you are happy with Griffin's quality then our radiators will blow you away. Whats wrong with the JTR radiator out of curiosity? It is relatively cheap, has mounting brackets you can buy, is easy to retrofit a Taurus fan onto or other AM fan. Is it insufficient in core size/ I don't think there's anything wrong with the JTR radiator. We're just trying to create a radiator that needs no modifications to install on to the car. The only thing you might need to do is trim your hoses and add an adapter if running a V8. All factory mounting points will be retained. No cutting/drilling necessary! I keep passing by your office on the corner of Irvine Blvd and Bake. I was wondering if that was the same Koyorad. Yes, I'm actually in that building right now. This is our West Coast headquarters. I provided the engineering team in Japan with all the details of the radiator design (thanks to the help of one member of this community). It is officially in development at the moment! Art Nadel Posted December 22, 2008 Share Posted December 22, 2008 Kyorad, I am in Huntington Beach, and Time Trial my 280zx. Mostly at WSIR. Was thinking about the JTR radiator, but not until I sort some more pressing problems. So am not in a big hurry. Am getting by with the stock unit, and although I run a bit hotter than I would like, it works for now. If you want a test bed for early fit up, will volunteer. The oil cooler suggestion by Jon C is interesting. If I went that way, would consider running the engine oil first through the radiator, to take out some heat, and from there to the stock Turbo oil cooler to finish the job. I got very good of help from Mr.Effendy Wong Koyo International Operations Pte Ltd Singapore This is one of 2 imported to Norway by a Norwegian Nissan specialist. I look forward to install, but will probably have yo work in Singapore for one month before i have the time to install and see how it fit. olavcsk Posted April 16, 2010 Share Posted April 16, 2010 Koyo Singapore sent me this drawing (attachment) to confirm all the radiator dimension when i was working in China last year. I had to ask a friend at Nissan here in Kristiansand, Norway to control the dimentions against his original 260Z radiator. He noticed one difference, the water inlet was 90 degrees bend compared to his that was straight. I comfirmed the dimensions to Koyo and they started the production at the factory in Indonesia. So my Radiator is one of two in Norway right now. The price was about the half of what Norwegian manufacturer wanted for a similar radiator. olavcsk Posted May 25, 2010 Share Posted May 25, 2010 The Koyo radiator is now installed, just a bolt on job, perfect fit. I used a spare radiator oulet hose and cut of the short bend and used as inlet to radiator. The radiator is now tested about 400 miles much hard Norwegian up/downhill in up to about 85 degrees fahrenheit (summertime now) and worked perfect for me no overheating problem at all , like my old 3 row always had. Koyo Jaya Indonesia" Not only will I be in Indonesia within a couple of weeks, I'm already well on the way towards asking my local distributor in Indonesia to check into local pricing for Indonesian Delivery. I'm not a fan of Aluminum Radiators, but when I have Business Baggage allowance and one carry on....I can see two or three of these coming home with me on this trip! THANKS FOR THAT! I would have gone through Koyo Singapore from what was written thus far, but knowing they do the work there in Indonesia, I will simply go direct in-country and skip even that marginal markup and buy form PT. Koyo Jaya. I'm wondering where their facility is, and if we have a supplier/service interaction with them already. If so, even more discounting may be possible. More things to check..... Not paying for shipping makes this particularly attractive, as I'm sure you know! <EDIT>Ohhh, found them, Cibitung. This looks doable on the next visit. It's my 'slush fund' when in Indonesia, I have been TRYING to use them up as fast as possible when I visit, FINALLY this will give me something with 'meat' that I can sink a bunch of them into! Sate and Lele doesn't kill a 50K Rupiah note very fast. Even for me. Even when you add the occasional beer or other refreshment. Or 6 friends! It will definately make the travel wallet thinner... I'm waiting on them to reply now. Usually they are into the office within the next couple of hours... We shall see what they say, and if it's going to be possible to make a stop by and see what I can get while there. It's only a matter of time, our guy from Bangkok just got off Skype with me a bit ago and he's up near Balongan. That was supposed to be me. I could be cultivating this place personally now if it wasn't for my mandatory attendance in Pittsburgh last week for 'training'... Ah well, eventually all drones are called back to the mother ship for a recharge and reindoctrination...
