I just took off my passenger side door off. I weighed it out of curiosity and came out to be just shy of 70 lbs. I took everything out and still came out to be about 40 lbs with most of the weight towards the front of the car. Was surprised to see that there was absolutely no rust on the inside of the door. Outside just had some surface rust that was easily remedied with a touch of a light duty grinder. BTW its out of a 76

bleach. chlorine in a sanitary solution is 1 table spoon to 1 gallon of water.So if you up the dosage it should kill the little buggers and the chlorine should evaporate off in a day or so.

for cressida; wire park sensor switch to clutsh safety switch, so it will start when clutch is pressed. As I recall, 1st gens didn't have any crank safety device. Don't take my word for it. Almost burnt out my starter, when my auto 280z sralked and was stuck in drive. cranked the ignition in gear about 20 feet to get it started again. was able to shift after that. When I removed that engine I was surprised that only one thing electrical attached to the tranny, the reverse lights. so I don't think you will have any problems like your other swap. Its a pre-OBD-I system.

I think in your case. the window mount was from a different car (could be wrong). One of my 280z came with the wrong door (outer door latch design, one a inner door latch design car). Thing never did fit right( whole door). Window never fit in the frame right either. My guess is that the door was damaged at one point and they took the glass and window mech and put them into the door they were replacing it with. Bought the door that I am selling now off of ebay. Car that it was is going to be scrapped when I'm done with the other car (other car has the earlier design).

There should be 2 guides that you can adjust towards the front and back of the door. These don't adjust the window itself, but the position of bottom part of the scissor lift assembly. I think the problem you are having is with the plastic wheel /bearings that slide through these guides.

I can't find any resource on this. I need to remove the headlight unit out of a 07, not the bulbs. Reason is, a friend of mine got into a little accident, with damage next to the headlight. I don't want to remove the whole fender. I can reach back side, but only if the headlight is removed/

I have to agree. I think you can sub the shaft/pin with a 1/4 inch bolt (not sure on size). Why don't you just remove the boot and see? there should be 3 plastic bushings, on on the end of the shift rod that pops on to a ball at the end, and 2 others that goes where the pin is suppose to be. I just subbed my pin bushings for 2 washers and a section of brass tubing.

Thanks. That I do. So I do need spacers. Should I add camber to offset the negative camber from lowering then? Or will the spacers remedy that?

I'm going to be building a tube chassis from the firewall forward. Now my question is in reference to the strut towers. The bumper steer spacers are for bigger wheels and/or lowering spring, correct? Now if I have the strut mount outward a little more than the stock angle, would this correct the need for bump steer spacers? And what increase in angle is suggested?

I talked to the owners of the storage place and gave them my number to give to the fender guy. but that was a while ago. Now is this for a first gen, 280zx or 300zx? Theres a (I think) repo guy near the same area, behind the cheveron/mcdonalds, that I bought one of my parts car from. They have a 280zx last I recall.

nope. Theres a guy in my neighborhood that has a pretty complete 280z. He was asking for $2k, but he's been trying to sell it for a while, so I'm pretty sure its negotiable. There's another guy in soldatna thats illusive, has a bunch of Z cars. I was going to buy some fiberglass fenders off of him last summer for like $200, but he never got back to me. I just had to fab my on repair panels because of that and because tabco is always on backorder when I call.

Hhmmm. Interesting. I wonder what the flex to thickness properties are. With bondo anything over 1/8" will break off when flexed.
