  1. Dealers had there own choice of mirrors to throw on the cars. I have (had) 2x 280z both were factory, unmodded (aside from the radio) and they BOTH came with different mirrors. If you guys want to nit-pick on something as trivial as MIRRORS, then go join the zcar forum. If you want to run them, then run them and don't let anyone else's views of them sway you. Now someone needs to add something substantial or not contribute to this thread so it can be buried.
  2. You gonna drive up all the way to fairbanks? o_O lol
  3. KA and SR transmissions are the same, its the bell housing that is different. Don't confuse HP to an engines strength, its the torque that kills a transmission. People have put KA transmission onto a L28, by swapping on the L28 bell housing on to the KA transmission. Now think about it. Only reason why I see it justifiable to swap on a L28 transmission onto a SR, is because of there not being any SR/KA transmissions local. You are working backwards.
  4. shouldn't you be posting this in the sales forums, even though you are giving them away.
  5. 2000 Lbs? Are you talking about a cherry picker (engine hoist)? Even the inline 6 domestic diesel engines don't weight more than 800 lbs. An engine stand it used to mount a block to be worked on (no transmission). You can buy one as like schucks for like $180 total I think (have to purchase the lower and upper parts separately). You can rent one for like $20-$30 (not including security deposit) and buy an actual engine stand for $60 (last time I checked.
  6. The housing is awfully thin. Ijust need to get a lower profile SOHC housing, thats all. Its like $20-$30 at napa, but I have to buy the thermostat with it and frankly, I don't like going down there unless I'm buy a whole bunch of crap
  7. Hmmm. Then I might have to mod my bracket even further, or just get single cam brackets . My alternator sits higher up, so it just clears the thermostat, but just barely. When its running, it will be rubbing . Be careful with the NOS bottle, using it for an overflow tank. I tried to pour some tea into one, one time, and the bottle started shrinking o_O
  8. I've dropped 2 280z fuel tanks, and both were different but similar. Looking at both of them, It has an uniquely shaped tank. I haven't seen a R31 tank before, but I doubt that it will be easy to fit. I agree, It will most likely be easier if you bought/built a fuel cell. And why an internal setup? I find having the pump outside of the tank makes it a WHOLE LOT easier to work on. BTW the stock 280z setup is setup with the pump outside.
  9. you can see if JCwhitney.com is still having deals on seats. They have a habit of "renewing" their promos as "different" ones. just search around on their site.
  10. Agreed, its a 4wheeler with a gocart body, with street tires. The chassis, from what I can tell looks exactly like a stripped quad version of my grizzly .
  11. Just took off mine off my parts car (granted, I did cut it in half ). Stuck a 12 mm spanner with tightening the slack on the shaft (rotation, clockwise facing the back), stuck the spanner in (hole side with it fitted as far as it can go on the nut) so it would prop up against the the tunnel wall, and then rotated the shaft (angled it) to loosen the nuts.
  12. Because I had to fab a new alternator bracket to run a single belt to run the water pump.
  13. But thats only the cross member and the tranny mount correct? There are some things to be done in order to run without power steering.
  14. Most likely, the other person put a higher max bid than you
  15. Nice. I need to put one in when I get around to messing with the fuel. How much you pay for your fuel cell?
  16. I wait about 10 sec and then I put the highest bid that I'm willing to pay. EBAY TIP. Say there is something that someone put a bid of $100. Wait until like 30 sec and place your top bid that you are willing to pay. Ebay will automatically bid the next bid higher than the winning bid. So if the other bidder put $125 and the winning bid is $100, When you put, say $150. It ebay will automatically bid to the next highest, like $125.25 or something like that. Thats how I win all my auctions
  17. Did you happen to remove the power steering pump? And how did you get around the thermostat housing issue?. Mine sits about 1/2 an inch to an inch around from the firewall. EDIT: Like the bottle of NOS lol
  18. What type of engine do you have under the hood? Inline 6, V6, V8? its more likely that someone did a full engine swap.
  19. you in anch as well? I could probably tell, if I got a chance to look at it
  20. did you use a ratchet or a spanner? I stripped mine with a 16 point socket, had to use a spanner to loosen it.
  21. While on the subject. Has anyone thought of swapping in a Z33 auto tranny? It would be nice to have the dummy shift on my car
  22. I know. My friend went to rehab because of it. I only took it for my back when I couldn't move at all because of the swelling around my nerves in my back. still have half a bottle left and hadn't touched it at all for like 2 weeks
  23. Lol not really. If I did care, I wouldn't have cut my car in half to run a space frame and run S2000 mirrors
  24. could of just widened it to center lol
