  1. just watch one of the many classics, cannonball
  2. brake booster, clutch/preasure plate/throw out bearing Not really, but for someone trying to find replacement parts for a 2+2, they are pretty difficult to find No maybe, but they might need to be extended wider. I have no dimensions of a 280zx frame rails to verify.
  3. I don't think that the 240sx header will really be an issue. I have both altima and 240sx exhaust manifold. What I think will be and issue are: having to fab up a custom oil pan. the distributor clearance issue against the firewall. reversing the intake manifold from facing "back" of the block. I think it will just be easier to find/buy a 240sx engine. A stock engine goes for $200-$500 . Still will have issues with: removing/running with out a power steering pump (you think, oh thats just simple, but you will see ). front sump clearance issue.
  4. Ironically, I was watching kill bill 2 the other day
  5. Don't just think that a KA swap is going to t be as easy as you might think. there are some engine mechanical issues that you have to contend with. Like dealing with the front sump clearance issue and some others that I rather you find out on your own
  6. I have a yamaha grizzly ATV and that thing has so much torque. I can easily see a novice laying it on a turn with a 600.
  7. maybe he just wanted to be able to adjust camber and toe at the same time haha
  8. not to self; add wog to my vocabulary
  9. its even better if you can put a rag on the surface, drill a small pilot hole in a wood block and sandwich the area to be drilled with a C clamp. Seems pretty cheap for a low production (demand) item.
  10. Haha. I think you have better efficiency with a smaller IC if you want to go water cooling. But you work with what you got. You also have to remember. power to weight. Is all that water/ice worth the power you would get, I can see it would be better for endurance.
  11. is there really a difference, besides the additional throttle bodies built into the runners in the s13? BTW I intend to be boosting this engine.
  12. You guys realize that I'm in Alaska, right? Because of gas and shipping, the price of metal (especially steel) is about 3x what it normally would be, and this is comparing prices last November, till now. the reason why I asked about bronze, is because, there is a less likely chance of casting with slag inclusion (not really slag, but impurities), meaning less likely to FUBAR the mold that I intend to use once.
  13. I've been in need of a KA24DE lower intake manifold, but haven't been able to find one up here. I've been tinkering with the notion of casting a new one. I've casted before, but not with something so large. Would there be any benefit in casting in bronze, as opposed to aluminum? I wouldn't think that there wouldn't be much of a heat issue, since I have the upper portion, which is aluminum. Reason why I ask about bronze is that I can easily melt some down with my oxy/acc torch, instead of going to a foundry for aluminum.
  14. just be careful with your passenger smacking there head
  15. I wouldn't spend $100-$200 for plastic mirrors , but thats just my opinion
  16. I agree with just keeping it stock. converting to any other engine is just added work for what is needed. I don't agree with another car, because its just another add expense.
  17. what size press are you using?
  18. Stay away from anything else, unless you want to buy twice
  19. wow, nice. I assume the first is the form you made to beat the aluminum?
  20. and a cooker for all that rice lol sorry couldn't resist
  21. The bone stock KA, makes just shy of 10 hp less then the L28E (if comparing stock rebuilt engines). Minus the power steering pump, I believe its about the same, but lighter. If you want to find a 4 banger engine for, as you described, I suggest a CA20E.
  22. Oh, you mustn't do that...hehe
  23. To add to this, from my understanding, the company crash tested only the r33 chassis (it being the least desirable) and applied the results to the R32 and R34 to have them "legal". Then after that, they need to somewhere in TX to a FED emmissions facility to become smog legal. So price of the car, on top of the: import tax shipping fees (to the USA, to TX, then to where ever you are). labor fees ect prices start to add up. Well the company in question has since been long gone. I think they were seised by the FEDs or something and all cars on the lot, impounded .
  24. google it. offset is measured in mm.
