  3. Stock rods smoothed and shot peened should hold up fine. One cam. CV shafts upgrade with R200, it you don't have. Automatic for the strip. Meth injection and or ceramic coated pistons. Send head to Braap. M/T street slicks. 3.2 is very ambitious, may consider bores inspected the way 1fastz dose to fine a good block with thickness to overbore, or get it sleeved. Wideband o2 with gauge.
  4. For even more off the wall you can mix it 50/50 with ATF and run it in a trans to quicken up the shifting. Can you mix that with roaly purple? I need to change mine and would not mind putting that in the rear and tranny to reduce losses to the rear wheels. I was just afraid of proper syncro meshing with the lighter oil. What atf brand, or dose it matter?
  5. Make sure they take the weight on the outer diameter as much as possible. Don't be afraid of going lighter, I'm at 17lbs or so with the turbo fly in my na. I can start off in second with out a hitch. GET the flywheel AND pressure plate balanced once weight is removed. You won't believe how much soother the car will run. The fly will have to be balanced anyway due to casting irregularities after lighting.
  6. Have you replaced and gap plugs recently? Unless the wires are really crap, the path of least resistance should be the plugs. Unless you were naked sucking on the neg post of battery, holding on to the wire with wet hand!! Wires, may have become more resitive, or plugs. Ground to engine may be poor as well.
  7. Ok my radio is the electronic tuner type, it is fairly intermittent. I get power to it but it won't always turn on or respond to any of the buttons, any ideas there? I hate to do it but I may end up replacing it with a modern one. Pull it and sell it to some purist, and put in something that is more worthy of the car!! Or for fun, smash it with a sleg!!
  8. It's commom for water to hang out in the distributor for a while. (sometimes for a day or longer) Take the cap off and let dry.
  9. Man what a bummer. I would say remove injector plugs one by one, however you just did alot of work on those.... If it was na I would suggest ignition modual and I don't know as much about the turbo. I still have that afm if you want to give it a try. Can you drive it at all, maybe come on by, or I can come there sometime this weekend?
  10. Flat tops will be fun with the p90. If you decide to build more boost, meth injection. Then aftermarket ecu, bigger injectors, more meth and hold on;)
  11. Check ujoints. Also possible colum locking up. (steering wheel lock)
  12. Strange my 82 did. Plus lighted key holes and ignition.
  13. Steel toe boots have there own issues. Do protect under light to heavyish loads, once exceeded.........
  14. Have you warmed it up and still had the same problem? Possibly a cold start issue?
  15. Keepers (I believe that is what they are called) are shot. I have been told that leaving your hand on the shifter put ware and tare on them.
  16. Manual, autos just don't put the gear I want, most of the time. Shifting an auto kinda suck, the new one with paddle shifting would be cool. Imagine being hard into a corner and have it shift on you.......
  17. I doubt it is this, but, I wanted to mention the idler pulleys. Little bit of wd40 for the check. I've had mine whine in the past.
  18. It will get hotter before cooling. The fan should go on at idel with the hood popped.
  19. Sooo not all the l series engines have the same crank,,,,, interesting.
  20. I can see from your experience that you probably would have not been dense enough to have a paper thin manifold, especially boosting. Way to stick to your guns in a adult manner. Cheers!
  21. Ahh man, you have the black interior, mine is red. I do have just the chrome strip down the side;) Looking great! Have you considered removeing the injector fan?
