  1. I'm thinking BFD!! Knowing what I'm looking at, it is by far the least of what I noticed!! Sweet engine my man!!
  2. I just hope when you try to send it back and they say welll...... They were warped by you using them. Not saying that they are tiring anything bad, just usually when you use something.... Good luck.
  3. Possible fusuable link, or bad connections on battery cables. (at the batt and starter and ground)
  4. Those rules apply here as well. I've been pulled over for driving in the left lane with no one around. Its just that that lane is in better shape. Side story, had a older caravan following me in my work pickup. I was speeding a bit and picked him up, (I became a radar break), he was following at a good distance, just did not want him back there, was not mad or anything. Anyhow could not shake him for miles, now in the right hand lane, where I was, there was a piece of cardboard in the road (about 4by5 feet in side), laying flat, did not have time to avoid, rolling over the top of it, caused it to become airborne, and you got it, WRAP....stuck right to the front of his rig, not blocking the windshield too much, but must of scared the crap out of him!! Anyhow he pulled off the emergency lane, knowing he was going to be fine, I did smile to my self a little.
  5. To get my car to idel properly it was a fun game of adjusting the afm, that idel screw, and timing. Without proper tools I have her running very good! I'm na so not toooooo worryed about detenation. A dyno party is coming up, so I will get to see how badly I suck, or.........
  6. Pop the throttle position switch cover, (since your getting a new one;)) and see if it is moving through the contacts properly.
  7. May seem over easy, is your throttle opening all the way?
  8. I've seen pictures and the contact area between the 225mm and 240mm flywheels is almost the same and interchangeable. Ummm, no. There is a groove cut in the wheel. You can run a 225 on a 240, but why? You can't the other way around.
  9. Hands free, has to be, here.
  10. Yea..but... there has not been a school bus with screaming children out on that track yet,,has there......
  11. Autos have flexplates. Honest, just get 240mm flywheel and 240mm clutch assembly. Are you going to get a lightened one, or get one lightened?
  12. Yep, that was certainly one of there better design components of that car!!! I tinkered with mine, all good now;)
  13. Both flywheels are essentially the same. The turbo (240mm) has a bigger "patch" in order to accommidate the larger clutch. I know some issues are still being "resolved" in this aspect, however, the larger friction area will have more longevity due to....well think of your breaks. Imagine tying to just have those smaller, why bother. BTW, think about not having a sprung disk.
  14. DANG both you GUYS!! That is what has fail on several clutch jobs in the past. No I did not know about unsprung disks, so my new one is sprung, six if I remember correctly......Live and learn....
  15. Frist: N/A it is not a T5. Second: In good shape the clutch you have will hold 200hp. Thrird: More ponies then that, get a 240mm (turbo/2plus2) flywheel, or (what ever flywheel you want, aftermarket). Forth: get the fly and pressure plate balenced, if stock 240mm, get it lighented. The 225mm to 240mm is a DIRECT swap!
  16. I have considered this. Just that I always give it hell cause I do not know if their really gonna open it up. If I don't have almost a surprise on them I would have not been able to get by. I will give it more consideration in the future though.
  17. I've done this alot. On my previous job I would run a 2 lane highway for 50plus miles. 55 and I would do 60. I would come up on a guy doing 50 often, not a very busy road, and when I went to pass THEY SPEED UP!!!!! EVEN IT THERE IS ONCOMING TRAFFIC!!!! I don't understand why people do this. I got into the habit of clocking there speed for consistency, then when I passed I give it hell (small pickup) and once passed with about a cars length in front I can tell they sped up so all I do is slow quickly back to 55 or 50 ( the speed they were going). You can see them on the binders hard!! Look when someone is passing me, cause he caught me, even if he is speeding, I get over a bit in the emergency lane and slow down. No biggie. Yet others can just not stand being passed!! These same creeps will being doing under the speed limit holding everyone up until a passing lane, or where the road goes into a four lane. I just don't get that. Had the same thing happen with a semi, I will admit it is a little un-nerving to have him probably a foot off my bumber and them I let off the gas to help close that distance for him......... Besides, never get on someones butt, don't you know you are pretty much guilty if you rear end them??????? Most of the time I let things go on by, but when you want to put my life in peril for some retarded reason, I will let you know it is unappreciated. On the interstate, the only thing that bugs me, is when there is a mile of clear road behind me, an someone is going like hell just to get in front of me to hit an off ramp, or merge. Like in the order of 20 to 30mph over just to,,,,,,,,,,, oh well. Once again if I'm in the fast lane and see someone coming like hell I get over so he dose not have to ware out his breaks, make no never mind to me. Any build I do will have cruise, gives me an excuse to not bother;)
  18. I wish I had one. That makes sense, never thought of that even though now it seems obvious:)! That engine has plenty of power to cruise at a lower rpm.
  19. I say yep, and get it lightened and balance pressure plate and flywheel! (since everything is out and about;))
  20. I've had problems all my life. Started using musimex(sp) daily, problem solved. Outside of antibiotics, for when my sinus go postal, I've not had an infection in the least since I've started using;)
  21. The thing that bugs me somewhat, is the fact that the crank seemed to form a jump rope, due to the center bearing toasting. So would there not be any opposite force exerted on the opposing force exerted from the center, if it was an harmonic issue?
  22. The hp/torque of any given engine has to accelerate itself, clutch assemblies, transmission parts, drive shaft, differential, more dive shafts, wheels and the car itself. This includes all friction surfaces in all the moving parts. Although there are advantages to all the parts in unison, they also offer there disadvantages. I.E, standard tyranny vs. auto. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, just depends really on application. Will it show up on a dyno, maybe it will in faster torque increases, as far as an over all number, not sure, can't visualize. It's not like you loose hp to the ground when you have a head wind.
  23. Heehee, that would be more like 88 US right now.... Congratulations! I like your ambition!!! On just a side note, next time be careful of posting the same thing in other threads and well as the one you started;). It really was close to cross posting. Anyhow, GREAT JOB at working with us here and lots you figured out on your own!!
