  1. If your not going turbo, now or in the future, the p70 head will fit your needs just fine. A n/a cam and turbo cam have different applications (aftermarket). So you really have to decide for youself. Honestly, most upgrades will cause problems with fuel mixures on stock stuff. Getting a ECU, or atleast a wideband O2 sensor will probaly be needed frist. P90a can be made into a p90 useing the parts from your p79 and timeserts. The cam in a p90a can NOT be used in a solid lifter application, the p79 cam can. Just putting a p90 "turbo head" on your engine will not produce any noteable gains. Post a buget, and some goals would help. You may find you will have to do some searching. Good luck:)
  2. but where the problem lies is, the car dosent have the same get up and go as it used to. i cant squeel tires and now my o-60 is like 20sec. a 50 ton 18 wheeler would destroy me off the line. Thats funny! Good job on the progress, personally I don't have any advice at this moment.
  3. Good choice you'll like the grip and better throttle respone! You will have to let us know, however after reading again, the turbo and clutch will be new for you? Don't quote me, but I think the stock bolts are to long for that "thiner" flywheel? Just measure the old flywheel and the new one to see the differnce.
  4. Ever thought about radiant barriers as well? Also in my master bedroom I built, I used alot of sound board in the ceiling as well as the walls.....teeeheee. Rockwool will work as well, not for the garage but for bath rooms, study, bedroom. DO NOT SCIMP ON LOW VOLT WIREING!! You don't have to finish it out, but it's easy to do, and in most states it is not inspectable. Pm me if you want to know more.
  5. GM,,,,, let my Chey GO!!!
  6. Ok, think of this as apprentice work. Time and experience will be your friend, ie. Yea I built...blah,,,blah..... Wage will increase in time, cut your teeth properly. FIT the part. Esp. in this world now, image is everything, sometimes tooooo much, oh well. If you are one of those computer gurus (nobody knows what your doing, its PFM to the customer) you can afford to "look" eccentric, (no offense anyone) other wise, maybe a hair cut is in order. Once you have established yourself there will more flexibility in image building, in some cases being more exotic can enhance customer count. I mean look at BRAAP and JHONC!! Good gracious!!!)) Your 18, intelligent, organized, patience and gaining experienced. But alas, you are 18. At 30 or so you will be strangely surprised how much growth can take place in that amount of time, esp during early to mid/late twenties! You may find you don't care to work on cars as much as you thought you would and maybe like being a supervisor at McDonald!! Ethier way, I would be surprised if you were not successful in life, just don't get some girl pregnent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Not saying that this will cause failure, just WOW talk about a change in lifestyle!) I was married before bringing in my frist into the world, around age 30.
  7. When I removed my U-joints from my half shafts, quite the stroy. Lets just say it might have been like dropping them from a very tall building;) The second one I had a shop that works on semi's do it, cost about $15, was glad to pay it. I definity say no worries.
  8. Looking forward to getting a review from you after your megajolt setup is done!!
  9. Just add more untill you like the number you come up with;)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. It's great to see the zx's "hanging" with you all:)
  11. Yep, sounds like your getting fuel;) If timing seems right after you check it, disco the fuel injectors, crank it a bit, let it sit an hour, repeat, then try to start it on starting fuild alone.
  12. Personally I'd leave the seal alone. Pulling the cover, may only cause leaks at the oil pan gasket. How are you going to control the edis?
  13. I kinda severly dislike the rear brakes on my 83, or even my past 82. They never really adjust properly and leave the break pedel a little mushy.
  14. It's just that if everything was working normally, you would not be having such a problem. Good job on the rad, considered replacing water pump, since it will be more avalible? What temp themostate you running?, did you put it in water and heat it up to see if it is opening?
  15. I was speaking of the fuel/air. Just backing off a couple of teeth on the AFM may even "pep" the ride more. Also change out your thermostate recently? Odd that you are now running warmer, recently, if that is what is happening.
  16. Something along the lines of ..... Lousy kids with your jap junk and all..... what you need is a good licken!! (this would be said by you;))
  17. On my first ZX I had the same thing, mostly second, a little third. With new oil I added a additive called energy release, problem solved. If you have the money, consider going all royal purple?
  18. How do you know you are getting fuel? The starting fuild would have made it start ethier way. Sounds like timing. Have you pulled a plug? Gas soaked?
  19. You gotta to admit, that is funny:icon45:
  20. Have you considered richening it up some? I see you are in ID. Still been cool here lately cept for those 2 days.
  21. Take the rotor off and see if it is balanced. I don't have a turbo, but I have a turbo engine awaiting funds. Odd, never heard of that, post a pic?
  22. You two guys should of let this tread go, 280zx 2by2 has it handled, just give it time.
  23. Have you considered meth inject? Or ceramic coatings?
