Running lights . Side emitting LED strips , $45 for 5m w/ 600 LEDs . Cut to fit lenses . Soldered wires . Peeled tape and installed . Added power and enjoy .
-
Nice looking car , pretty straight and clean .
-
Amen to that .

Here's a blank one for you guys to copy and fill in . Side emitting LED strips just came in . I'll be doing running lights soon , going with option " A " . Please post your ideas on turn signal and brake . Keep in mind , my sequential module ( for turn signal ) can only drive 3 LED sections/groups . My friend suggested doing starburst turn signal but I don't think there's enough room on the lens for that .

I do like the look of the old Celica , kinda like a miniature Boss Mustang . I'm looking for one to do some kind of motor swap , LS1 or Ford 5.0 ( old ) .
-
You need check your voltage at the alternator and the battery .
-
That's my plan . The perimeter = running , top 3 round LEDs = sequential signal , bottom 4 ( maybe 5 ) round LEDs = brake .

Designed for a Z and how much ?

We'll see . Car sat outside for a week now , under a cover . Will know tomorrow . But we haven't had hot Texas temp. yet .

Not with the light bars that I have . They do sell square and rectangle shape LEDs . I'll look into it , great idea . Thanks .
-
I did them in white so people can see what I'm trying to do . Figured red might not show up on red lenses . All my LEDs are in pure white , brighter than other colors , but will show red behind red lenses .

Playing around with turn signal and brake lights ideas . Need inputs , people . Option 1 with COB LED light bars , no sequential turn signal . Option 2 with LED rings , sequential turn signal . Option 3 with round LEDs , sequential turn signal . Welcome all ideas .

Kinda like "A" myself . A lot of my friends said the same thing .
-
Let's hope not . . If they do , I have a back up plan . I bought some clear silicone adhesive then decided to use hot glue , faster drying time .
-
Different color . A . Or B . The above are running lights . Debating on what to use for turn signal and brake .

Thanks for the info on the driver chip . I thought each light module ( ring ) has everything in it , just supply 12V and go . I do like the idea of dimmer effect too . Thanks .

$500 is the starting price and it goes up to $700 . Don't think they come with tail light assemblies , just the inserts .

COB LEDs replacement came in today , still waiting on side emitting LED strips . This was the original plan , with COBs . Here's COB replacement . Here's the plan with sequential signal ( top lens ) . Your thoughts . I kinda agree with Hypertek . Second plan is to use side emitting LED strips ( running ) on the perimeter of the lenses , similar to Charger and Challenger , and small round LEDs in the center ( signal and brake ) .

Your project is coming along pretty good . Keep it up , more pics .

I think 140mm is the OD . That's how they are listed on eBay . The next larger size , if there is one , won't work with the Z 7" headlights . The rings are glued on the outside , don't recommend to do this without headlight covers but I think they are waterproof , not 100% sure .

Drilling holes in lifter trays will help drain back also .

It's a good idea to mod oil pan to have " kick outs " to gain more volume , just make sure it doesn't look like the C5 pan , " bat wings " . These pans are bad for road course racing . At high Gs turns , oil goes to the side . C5 " bat wings " pan .
