    Not a Z, but..

Years ago , when I had my 79 ZX , the trans in it was making noise ( bearings ) . I couldn't find a ZX 5 spd trans . The place I called , the guy told me that I can have either a 200SX or a Hardbody trans which will work . Bought the truck trans and it bolted right up . Man , the car had one hell of a pull from 1st through 2nd and then it just fell on its face after 2nd ( truck gearing ) . He didn't say what year Hardbody .
  3. You need to do some searching and download FSM . Read on ignition section . Then post your question(s) . " I am getting power to everthing but im not getting spark. " does not tell us much .
  4. What's the O2 and longterm fuel trim reading at idle and 1k -1.8k rpm ?
  5. Most Nissan injectors are color coded . Make sure all your injectors are turbo injectors or at least they all match for your setup .
  6. There's no way I can wait that long . I know you are doing everything all at once . I'm still working on both of mine but at least both are running . Only bad thing is that I'm getting a little lazy to work on them , having too much fun driving them . LOL .
  7. How long has it been , over two years ?
  8. Make sure the wires are not AutoZone brand , see to many problems with this brand . NGK is the way to go .
  9. Sounds like you have a weak ignition system . Misfires under load . Check your coil , cap , rotor , etc.
  10. I would try to bleed the system again and MAKE sure coolant is flowing through your heater core . Do it with the heater on low speed and make sure you feel heat coming out .
  11. How does your fan operate , constantly running or temp. control ?
  12. Will the temp go up if you rev the engine while the car is sitting still ?
  13. Damn ! Yes , he did a great job . Like you said , the hard part is done . Good luck of finding a new guy . More chrome parts ? cool .
  14. Correction , if you are misfiring the O2 will read lean . It's an O2 sensor , it detects oxygen content . Misfired occurs when air/fuel mixture didn't ignite ( no boom ) . The O2 will detect unburned air/fuel mixture when misfired occurs , but it detects only oxygen ( by design ) not HC ( fuel ) .
  15. I'm going to try it , it's cheap enough . Thanks for the feedback .
  16. Matte black was the plan . Then I was told that matte black doesn't last long in TX heat ( sun ) . After the paint job , I would like to try plastic dip it . Just don't know long that stuff will last . Can't find any good feedback on durability .
  17. I relocated mine too . I just use neg. cable from term to body . Just make sure you have a good ground cable from body to block . And add more cables where you think is necessary , can't never have too many ground cables . On the positive side , I installed a 400 amp. ckt breaker near the bat. . Which I can switch off when working on electrical system which required bat disconnect . It also protects electrical short anywhere from bat to where the cable connects to , my case , fuse box on the 78 Z and starter solenoid on the 83 ZXT .
  18. True . But for me , I gotta start somewhere . Did a little priming here and there . Gotta get some more gun time , my 78 Z would be a perfect candidate . Doing single stage satin black so it would be a little easier to learn and easier to fix my mistakes . LOL .
  19. I love those colors combination . Going to do my 280ZXT in two tone , white and blue ( more like blurple or burple ) , when I get more time . Too many projects are going at once . LOL . And i'm not much of a body man but going to give it a shot . Bought a few body tools and spray guns .
  20. That's why people need to fix bad components on the car before they take out good components or none wear items . See it all the times . You wouldn't believe the number of cars that leave our shop with declined repairs and they're unsafe to be on the road .
  21. It should be ok . The pulley is pretty wide . Try it and see .
  22. Should be mounted at the right kick panel , near the fuse box .
