  1. Good luck with that , nothing can replace your Z . . At least , stay away from BMWs , Audis . How about a 350 Z ?
  2. Nice ! Putting an LS motor in it when you get it then it can really fly .
  3. Doesn't explain low compression but i see what you're getting at . LOL .
  4. Can't remember which side the valve is . Suction indicates open . Did you let the engine warm up to see if the valve closes ?
  5. Go to GEN III and IV section and do a little search . A lot of build threads on the subject .
  6. LS or LT ? I would go with the LS , it's lighter and better . IMO . If LS then you would want 99 - 02 F body , stay away from 98 . Trans Am would be better , you get better return on sold parts .
  7. Cheaper for sure . But fuel inj. looks better .
  8. If you have room and running low boost , i'd install it after the intercooler ( better reading on air temp. ) . Check your PCV system for blow-by problem . Most cars i've worked on don't like to idle when MAF sensor is sitting naked without filter or long intake boot . Too much turbulence at the sensor causes to have irractic reading .
  9. Ok . My diag. shows the air inlet hose Ts to PCV breather hose . You can remove the air inlet hose at regulator valve and start the motor ( cold state ) , make sure you cap off the hose , then check to see if it has any suction . As engine warmed up , the valve should close ( no suction ) . Or , if you can look inside the valve , you can manually supply power and ground to it and watch the valve closes .
  10. 10K is very doable if you are doing all the fab work yourself . As Mike stated , get a donor car ( F body , prefer T/A ) . Mine cost less than 3K ( LS1 drivetrain swap ) to get it running and driving . After swap upgrades is where it will break the bank . LOL
  11. Does the air regulator hose T to breather hose ?
  12. You can get motor mounts from JTR and as for the trans , you are on your own .
  13. Heat does crazy thing to metal . LOL . Wouldn't hurt to check your valve clearance before you take it to the shop , it's easy enough .
  14. This section is for GEN I and II . Need to post it in GEN III and IV . LS1 is lighter .
  15. Sorry , i was looking at OEM wiring diag. . Are you using aftermarket harness ?
  16. LS ( aluminum ) motors are lighter than Z motors . I had to lowered my 83 ZX to stock ride height after conversion . Going to do the same with my 78 Z . LS is the new Chevy small block . Easy to upgrade and work on . Love them . Think your post is in the wrong section .
  17. That won't work . Down stream boot has a fiiting for the air regulator . Where does the air regulator get air ?
  18. Are they the same , has all the fittings ?
  19. According to the wiring diag. , RED , from connector gets power from switch then feeds the headlight fuses .
  20. Did you test the air regulator with cold or hot engine ? It's for cold start ( acts like a choke on carb car ) . It opens when cold and closes when hot . it works with the cold start injector during cold start up . My advice to you is to get your intake boot first then recheck . Any kind of air/vac leak will give you a false reading/testing .
  21. What year Z and type of transmission so i can look it up for you ?
