  1. Tis the season to be thankful for good friends, even if they are sharing the only food you've got left, at least they're there. Not everyone can say they have friends. Aside from my online Z enthusiasts that I do consider my friends at a distance my wife and I don't have anyone else. We tried making friends at work, but those friendships always seem to go awry and cause problems in the office. But, we have each other and family, and that's what counts.
  2. Sounds like a bad TVS or it's running super rich. You need to check the fuel pressure. If you have a harbor freight around they have a fuel pressure test set for $6.99. I just bought one last week and it works great. Also try changing out the fuel filter. Run a can of Seafoam through it as well. You might have carbon build up on the valves from the exhaust leak. The burning oil could be caused by a bad PCV valve, it's under the intake, has a rubber line running to it from the block. Check it out. Of course check the plugs for color and report back on what you've got. Look for white, tan, grey, black and wet. Next on my list of questions for you, what are you interested in doing and what was your job in the Marine Corps? You said IT, but there's lots of IT MOS. Are you opposed to Camp LeJeune? Horrible place I know, but..Could be worth checking into. I work for General Dynamics IT out of Camp LeJeune NC and there's always positions opening up here. I'm looking at a job in Charleston SC that should be filled before the end of January so there might be a Field Service Technician position opening up here real soon. Email me, naviathan @ gmail.com
  3. That's been listed before. Several times over the last couple months I think.
  4. I know I hate that. Looking for the remote and it's right in front of you. It will look like a small cylinder that steps down in size then has a single wire coming out of it.
  5. No it pushed a large foam "bullet" down the line the clean the insides of the pipes out. Launching a pig through a pipe wouldn't do much for cleaning, but it damn sure would make a hell of a mess.
  6. The O2 should be pretty obvious. It's on the drivers side in the exhaust manifold right after where all the exhaust runners meet. I have a 77, although not a cali model it does still have an O2...I think. it's currently in monster reconstruction stage.
  7. They look the same except for the journal. I assume the 9mm caps allow for better oiling of the bearing? Less surface less friction type deal?
  8. YEAH!!!!! I really had no idea, but I had read something about large pipe cleaners being called pig launchers.
  9. This good information to have in the archives. Lets get it going. It there's no difference or maybe an advantage between the rods I would be greatful to know as would many others.
  10. Black plugs? Oil then. How black? Light, heavy soot, wet?
  11. It's a pig launcher for cleaning pipes! Read that somewhere....
  12. Mobile slop trough? Overkill for that I would think.
  13. Kammy's World Famous Valve Adjustment Walk Through
  14. Must be nice. I never got to see the cities in Kuwait. We drove by a few going between camps after 9/11. I think one city we passed a lot was Jahra. Not absolutely sure that's the correct spelling. It was about 30 miles outside of Ali Al Salim Air Base. That was several years back so things are a bit fuzzy.
  15. I don't see it adding much in the way of structural support. That foam isn't very strong and it's not meant for anything more than filling gaps. I couldn't see it hurting anything either though. Aside from the retaining moisture issue that is.
  16. Wow...You're going to need one hell of a cowl hood to cover that beast!
  17. Lying yes, underneith = underneath Also, tought as in tought I taw a putty tat? Or Thought? puting = putting If you're gonna ask for corrections I figured I should cover them all. Not trying to be a prick or anal about anything.
  18. Next time it does it try tapping the solenoid with a wrench or extension (something metal) and try it again it might start. Also I've read that if the external voltage regulator is going out it can effect the starter. Might want to try getting a new one. They're not expensive.
  19. I wonder if it's just oil or coolant or something left in the exhaust from the original engine?
  20. Didn't have your flywheel surfaced when you did the clutch did you?
  21. That's the questions I want answered. The price is awesome, but I want to know what's what here before diving into a set. The guy has a 100% positive feedback score so I don't think he's out to screw anyone. Maybe just misinformed.
  22. I have that one. The only thing I hate is the line speed is difficult to get just right. It's always either too fast or too slow. Then again, I'm use to Arc welding not MIG. It's new to me so I'm still working on it.
  23. That sounds awesome! WOW! I'm impressed....
