  1. Hell No I'm not going to paint it!! Like I said I just want to have something a bit different. The car is being treated to a flat black paint job with an anthricite grill and I am shaving the rain gutters putting clear lenses in the front black interior and limo tint windows and Mustang Bullitt wheels I think a little nice CF would set the rear of the car off very nice! I'll see about those pics ASAP I wont be able to post them for a few days though. any shots you need in particular? Keith
  2. Sorry after I re read my last post I thought I should clarify a plinth is the number plate to those who speak American! Keith
  3. If you are talking about the small chrome trim rings around the lamp housings the are crimped in place. I pulled them off the test part very easy as I did not plan on reusing them at any point. I am willing to do the same to the perfect set I have as I am dechroming the car anyway. I think that the best approach is to set the side pans and the plinth holder together and do this as an entire assy. I can send you some good digi pics if you want. Keith
  4. I.ve been working on this car for about 5 yrs now. I dont think 6 more monthes will kill me. I'm officially done with the tear down, plan, and refinish phase. Now to re-assemble!!! Keith
  5. I need somebody who KNOWS how to do custom FRP work. I'm looking for a carbon fiber taillight surround for my 73 240. I do have a set of perfect tins here that can be used as molds I have been practicing on a slightly damaged set but cant work up the nerve to risk damaging this set. I'm not looking for ultra light weight, just a good looking rear finisher panel. I will need it to be held in OEM style and accept stock lamp housings. This car is by no means a beauty queen but I would like one truly custom touch. Keith
  6. I was wondering if anybody has used the 86 vette exhaust manifolds on a Z in the JTR position? I have a lead on a set for a fair price they look awful close to the same size as a good set of block huggers just need to plug up the A.I.R. ports and should be good to go. Just wondering if anybody has done this before I searched the exhaust forum but found no answers Keith
  7. thanks for th tip on the ford injectors, I'm willing to spend that kind of money I just dont have the $400 I was looking at before, as for the what might be wrong I will have a TON of second guessing to do as These will be put in my Megasquirt powered motor!! Keith
  8. I agree, evan with my discount I'll be staying with the AFR's plus I dont need a new EFI manifold if I stay away from the vortec style more cost savings!! Keith
  9. Just got off the phone with GM parts depot. those heads are 650 each retail 550 each wholesale. Keith
  10. I was wondering if any body on here can tell me what other engines used an injector that I can put in to a 350 (stock) TPI manifold to use on my megasquirt project engine? I have a good motor here that I can stuff in my Z just so I can drive it for the first time in over 5 yrs. I'm hoping that a similar sized injector can be found in a more popular application like a 3.1 liter front driver that the local yard seems to have a TON of. Keith
  11. Has anybody been able to source these from their dealer yet? Mine has the part number and pricing plan but no idea on an expected delevery date. And my birthday is comming up soon would be a nice gift to my self!! Keith
  12. I talked to my GM supplier today. The posted price on the 206cc version is $335 each (he could not tell me if that was bare or assembled) with no date yet on release has anybody else looked into these or have any new info on them? I'm guessing that when these are released the magazines will have a feild day with them hopfully driving DOWN the prices of the older units at the swap meets. Keith
  13. I've decided to build a 350 motor for my 73 240. I have a good 350 roller motor I can borrow (thanks Perry) just to get this thing done. I also have a TPI (85 version that has been changed to Speed Density) What I am in need of is a wiring diagram for a 90 Vette computer so I can build the harness. I have the diagram from ALLDATA and I removed the emissions controls, and left only the fuel pump and input sensors, ALDL, SES lamp and driven outputs (injectors, IAC, ect.) can it really be just that easy? I found that the part # for the ecm is the same as a 3.1L chevy so a quick trip to the junkyard scored me one of those. along with the connectoer I needed to convert my MAF harness to SD I know I COULD buy the correct harness from Painless but they got enough of my money already. I hope you guys can help me out with this. Either post here or e-mail me @ rx7260z@yahoo.com Keith
  14. OK let me preface this by saying that I work in a VERY high end dealership. We carry rollsroyce,Bently land rover/range rover and my baby LOTUS. I love driving the new Bently GT (twin turbo v12) I drove the elise 290R for a year before it was even supossed to be in the US. we have 3 of the fed spec elises in the show room right now. I have driven a ton of cool rides that were trade ins. I few lambo's a coulple of pracing ponies the best from Germany (I love the SL600's) I just remembered why I like my job!!! Keith
  15. Sure sounds good to me. I got a lead on a guy who has a GN motor in a s-30. Gonna find out more if I can. Anybody have an idea on a place we should do this at? Keith
  16. here is my stable: 1973 240Z (on rotisorie) 1987 Mazda Rx-7 350/700r4 swap 1989 Chevy K2500HD (my car hauler) 1990 Jeep Wrangler 4.2L 5 speed (Daily Driver) 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee (Wifes Driver) Other rides (last year or so) 1988 Chevy Camaro Iroc (just sold) 1974.5 260Z (parted out too much rust) 1990 Honda Prelude (Total Beater)
  17. if it is the same as my 89 K2500HD and I think it is. you need to unbolt the axle nut the four boltd from the rear side and pull the entire hub.rotor, bearing assy. out of the truck and press the studs out and the rotor will fall off. then you place the new rotor on and press the studs back in. I would put new studs in if it was my truck. sorry for the bad news but I hope it helps. Keith
  18. Come and Z, what are you doing this weekend? Perry and I (you met us in Butler last summer) are going to a swap meet on Sat morning if you want to go call me at home I'll PM you the number. Keith
