  1. Joel, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers...
  2. I do... constantly as I have the LM-1 in the daily driver... Anyway, I seem to remember that I had some odd RPM fuel values to compensate for something similar to what you are describing... It seemed after the car made peak torque, I actually had to slightly ramp my RPM fuel values down a few points to get even AFR's ... somewhere around 5000 rpm's, maybe the first point by 4750..
  3. PhaTTy, are you n/a or turbo? (just was wondering due to the P90 reference) When the gasket has let go, what were you doing? Were you driving it hard, or were these easy break in miles? What torque did you use on the headbolts? I too tend to believe that you may have an issue w/ the block surface after going through 2 different heads. BTW, if this is a turbo car, then you may be going the wrong way with your compression ( N47 and 1mm gasket ), depending on the boost pressure you are trying to run... Regards, mike
  4. First, what is your fuel pressure set to? I think stock is ~37 psui, but most larger injectors prefer ~ 42psi. Next, it may be your accelerator enrichment settings and not the map values. From the main screen, use the left arrows and you'll see the settings. If you increase the fuel values there or adjust the sensitivity, it may make up the difference. Also, you may want to turn the boost down to 6-7 psi (if possible) and do a coulple of runs there to see what the car is doing.

  6. If you are running a Microtech standalone, then you should be able to program your fuel settings pretty easily. What is your base fuel pressure?
  7. 360* thrust collar yes water cooled center section... I doubt it. As long as you run clean oil and let it idle a little while after a hard run, you should be in good shape.
  8. http://www.speedshopthagard.com James is a good guy to work with.
  9. I like the 235/60/15's. They will not hook up at 28 psi. You have to get them a little hot and drop pressures to ~17psi.
  10. Nope, not directional and they'll wear fast, being such a soft compound. What size are they and what tire pressure were you running them at?
  11. Joel, just tried the "ignore list" on this thread!! Love it!!
  12. Yes, and they get their f/g ones from here ... http://www.classicdatsun.com/new/240_glass.html
  13. Thanks guys. I found a set locally. Kenny, I know Ken C ( orklc ) needs a pair of rears as well. I'll pm him and point him your way.
  14. Yep, either replace one forged piston and 240z rod, or sell them (needing one rod and piston) and refresh another short block. Looks just as you described over the phone last night. You said that #5 had a few pit marks, but nothing bad though, correct? Mike
  15. I am looking for a couple of the 75-78 280z rear strut mount insulators. The 280z insulators are 1.5" taller than the 240z insulators, and I need more tire/fender clearance in the rear on my 240z. Without going to coilovers, this should be the easiest way to get it and still keep the stiffer lowering springs I have in it. Actually, another buddy of mine nees a pair as well, so anyone have 2 sets of rear insulators, let me know. I had a pair and threw them out thinking that I would never need them, ofcourse... thanks all mike
  16. bad news gets worse... The turbo I bought second hand (serves me right) is toast. The bearings themselves have the old blueish (got too hot) tint to them. It was leaking from both front and rear oil seals and here's the kicker... Turbonetic$ will not just sell the parts I need for the BB center section. You have to buy the whole assembly. I am making myself sick just thinking about it. Aargh!!
  17. My next turbo stroker motor will be an E88 casting as well. Nothing wrong w/ the E88 once it is set up as this one is.
  18. Looks like fun!! I prefer the engine/exhaust sound over music background. I guess I am just funny that way... Mike
  19. I want to say that someone (maybe Jersey) used a toyota pickup/four runner clutch slave cylinder since he kept blowing out the stockers...
  20. Very cool, love that first startup, no matter what motor it is
  21. Although I don't have any lifters, I can tell you what I did when I finally had enough of the tapping. I took one hydraulic lifter and one mechanical lifter to a machine shop and I said, "I want this outer diameter (hydraulic) and this inner thread (that of the mechanical pivot) and this shape (that of the mechanical lifter boss) and... VIOLA!! no more lifter tap and I eliminated the hydraulics, thus paving the way for future upgrades, like a bigger cam (cause the hydraulics don't have enough travel for tall cams). my .02
